No, unfortunately it does not have a happy ending if you are watching it on Netflix or Amazon because the 5 minutes of clip and it really is just a little clip but what a lot of people seem to refer to it as "the special episode" or "ep 37" is not available on any of the platforms except Youku.

So excited about Son Ye Jin being on this show. They better release it on Netflix! Lol. I'm psyched!

Hey listen, no one is saying that they need to start showing nudity and start adding explicit sex scenes between two men to make it more realistic, but the problem is that ALL of the time and ALL of the supposed same-sex romance is ALWAYS implied and suggestive either through hinting or poetry or sub-text, etc. ALL THE TIME!! Which is not the case in opposite sex dramas. It is so obvious that it is being done in servitude to the homophobic censorship regulations in China that these type of shows end up being straight up Queerbaiting which I think does more harm than good to the LGBT community.

Honestly I think we just live in a very intolerant world where if you express an opinion that people don't agree with then you get viciously and savagely attacked.

A show where apparently no one ages. I haven't finished watching this show and they have so far shown a 14-year story arc and Park Seo-joon's character Park Sae-Ro-Yi hasn't aged a bit. Even his hairstyle is exactly the same the entire time during the 14+ year story arc.

Tang Joon-sang is amazing. Not only was he in Move to Heaven, but he was also in Crash Landing On You and he was brilliant.

Son Ye Jin is an international treasure. Loved her in this show. Jung Hae In was amazing too. And OMG ... that OST. Was that OST good or what!?!?!

I personally would also categorize Reply 1988 in this "Slice Of Life" genre.

I don't understand why Mainland China does these types of drama. I almost wish they left BL dramas to Taiwan or Hong Kong so that they did justice to these dramas where they can properly showcase these stories without the same-sex censorship constraints. You know for sure that due to censorship constraints Mainland China could never do any real justice to these stories and they just end up looking like Queerbaiting where there is lots of hinting, suggestions, innuendos, clever twists, homoerotic subtext, slow-burning tension, poetry, bone-throwing, etc - plenty of that going on that is suggestive of a same-sex relationship, but then absolutely no depiction of same-sex romance. It is a real shame. These stories deserve better.

This is sad that it is only 40 episodes. How are they going to tell this entire story in 40 lousy episodes. It needs to be double.

Does anyone know what the hold up is for releasing this drama? My understanding is that the trailer has been out since last year. Why the delay for the release?

I had major SLS during Reply 1994, Boys Over Flowers and Crash Landing On You, although technically for Crash Landing I was rooting for both the Second leads to end up together and not really break up the main leads.
