I'm not really sure about this series??? IMO, it's trying to deal with too many mysteries at the same time for an 8-episode series. Kind of reminds me of Manner of Death, which was well done btw. But, we're only on the 2nd ep., so I guess we'll have to wait and asee.

Title Century of Love Spoiler
I said in my last post that there was something off about this Ms. Wat. I said that whoever she is, is part of a plot by Suchat and his boss (man in the wheelchair). We never found out what happened after they crashed into the water. Also, it was Suchat who initially went looking for Ms. Wat. He could've found a double and told her everything she needed to know about the stone. Based on the previews of next week, it seems I may have been right.

Hidamari ga Kikoeru is good I have been enjoying that one
I've not heard of that Japanese BL. Thanks!
On Takara's Treasure Jul 30, 2024
IDK, but it seems that the Japanese BLs have seem to have lost something in these most recent series. This series is just not that good, and I think because it's drawing too much on overused stereotypes and tropes.
On Century of Love Jul 29, 2024
Hmmm! I'm not sure I agree with many of the posters regarding the "return" of Ms. Wat in the next episode. Remember, we don't know if Suchat and his boss are actually dead. And, it was Suchat who was originally looking for the "real" Ms. Wat. I have a feeling that there still part of the story unknown.

I thought the same thing, but they kind of showed his workers through out the years, I think it was the same family…
That sounds reasonable too. But I went back and watched it again, and I think I'm still missing something??? Maybe he adopted a family 100 years ago? I don't know? Thanks.

Not sure who you are referring to but I think they call him Great Grandpa more so out of respect rather than blood…
OH! Okay, that sounds reasonable. Thanks!

Has anyone read the novel, manga or story that this series is based on? I'm curious as to "how San could have great-great grandchildren, if he hasn't had any sex? Or did I miss something?

It's also the perfect setup for a season 2.
On Wandee Goodday Jul 20, 2024
At first, I didn't think I'd like this series. But, it turned out to be a pretty good romcom. There was no toxicity. There were characters that were real, if not occasionally flawed. There was a basic story that could easily be followed. There were mains and a second couple who actually showed care and concern for each other. There was a story in which we could see that the mains were actually falling in love with each other. Finally, there was a recent nice ending that could lead into an interesting season 2, if they choose to have one. Overall, I'd have to give this series an 8.3 - 8.5 rating --- and that says alot coming from me.

https://www.wattpad.com/home usually have most of the novels or source material for BLs. Try it out.

Agreed. Do you know if this was the way it was in the novel or source material it came from? Or, as you stated, a means for developing chemistry between the mains? Which, IMO, could've been done without making the "grown" Ryan appear to be so child-like, immature, and inept (which are the opposite qualities of Jane btw). Or was this just more fanservice?
Replying to ZoeSophieMarie Jul 14, 2024
Every single cliché in a BL is present in this series: boring and annoying women, nosy and extremely inconvenient…
Unfortunately, you are correct in much you presume. Cliches, tropes, stereotypes, and childish/immature behavior seems to be the standard corner stone of many (if not most) BLs, especially in Southeast Asian cultures. Unfortunately, it also garners a lot of attention and fanservice (which can equate to $$$). So, I truly wonder how concerned with the lgbtq+ community the BL industry truly is??!!

I am sorry but we are three episodes in and Ryan is still so useless as a character... Like I understand not knowing…
Agreed, I had the same thoughts. College senior who can't even tie his own shoes tightly, can't turn off a cell phone or call a repair guy??? Hmm! I think whoever had this character in mind is taking this to a ridiculous extreme. At some point in time, it becomes less and less funny (if laughs were the intent), and becomes more annoying.

Good point. But, that part of the story is never fully developed. Is it that way in the novel?

Title My Stand-In
It's not a happy ending, he lived his rest of live trapped in another man's body definitely not a happy ending
I think a lot of viewers simply discounted that part of the story. It's actually kind of tragic -- old Joe falls off a cliff, while new Joe tries to commit suicide. Old Joe gets to come back into new Joe's body. What about new Joe's "soul"? Seems like new Joe got the short end of the stick.
