I would agree with most of the other posters that this ep was a "little" better than the previous eps. But, IMO, not by much! LOL! This series is becoming a "hot mess!" But, at least it's watchable. You make some great comments. Have you seen the original (uncut) version of Addicted or read the novel it was based on? It was entertaining, definitely more mature than Thai BLs on that time, and gritty. And millions around the world saw it. In the opinions of many, including myself, the main reason for Addicted (and it's actors) being banned in China was not due primarily to its lgbtq+/BL content. But more on the how the novel portrayed the Chinese military/political establishment, The Chinese government realizes that there are a great many lgbtq+ people in their society (probably more than many other societies). But China tends to clamp down on anything that threatens their political structure. However, things are changing in that nation as older more stubborn generations die out and younger more freer thinking generations emerge. Remember, it's just an opinion. The original Addicted (Heroin) was so good because, IMO, it was gritty, mature, and bold. It really didn't have many stereotypes and tropes. But it was pretty "mature" (to use the term lightly) BL. I have to agree with @misspulane, There is some cringe in this series and we're only on ep. one. Also, Earth, IMO, is getting a little too old to continue playing these ultra young, naive, constantly lovesick characters. He's nearly 28 years old. You would think that he would want to begin playing more mature roles. But, a job is a job.
It's not wrong to state that is no doubt the worst of the Addicted series. I tried to figure out why. But I can only presume it's due to adapting this series to "fit" Thai tropes and stereotypes. I'm dropping it now and will probably binge the final eps. later. LOL

Sotus was one of the early BLs that helped establish (if not created) the "university engineering" trope. In many ways it was considered the "standard" by which many similar BLs were compared. It also established quite a few actors who went on to do many series, both BL and non-BL. So, even though it might not have a great BL series, IMO, it remains a "classic" in the BL industry.

This list that @Nhanle sent you was pretty descriptive of most the popular BLs. However, it really depends on your theatrical and cinematic BL tastes. Although the Thai BLs often times have bigger budgets, better cinematography and more younger/newer BL actors in their series, the Taiwanese, South Korean, Chinese and Japanese BLs seem to give you a much better story, plot and dramatic experience. They tend to utilize fewer tropes and stereotypes, and often more mature actors (mid-to-late 20s).
Now, granted that Thailand has become the premier country for producing BLs, IMO, it's become such a profitable business that many of their patrons "like" the cookie-cutter, trope and stereotype infested BLs that are produced in Thailand (and often). So, as I said, it depends on your BL tastes.
This action part of this ep was kind of silly. These bungling body guards must have the skills of Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, and Lt. Columbo (Google them) all roled into one! LOL! They found Tatoo, Hoy and Jack ALL IN A DAY! Wow! I guess being stupid has its privileges! LMFAO!
