The Sign is good...I would even say it deserves its rating...but yeah...I get what you are saying...I just caught…
True. I guess it depends on what you call "good." It did have cute faces. some NSFW, and kind of touch on the Thai religion of past lives, gods and deities. But, to me, the story didn't flow as well as some of BLs. IDK, maybe it needed more eps?? And the ending didn't make sense at all, other than having the mains reunite.
I'm curious what series do you think deserve a better rating than this one?
Now, this is an opinion I can agree on. I never said I liked KP, just that it might have deserved a similar or higher rating. It appears that the MDL rating is just a "popularity" contest. 🤣
I'm curious as to whether the MDL rating of 8.6 is actually how it calculates out to be. Yeah, yeah, it's a cute plot with lots of action and cute actors. Yeah, I know it's nothing more than fictional entertainment. And, it has the whole reincarnation thing going on (which I understand is important in Thai culture). But, 8.6??? I don't get it! Series that were actually much better (in every way possible) than The Sign didn't obtain an 8.6. Oh well, to each his own.
I actually like this adaptation of Cherry Magic. I also liked the Japanese version, too. Is one better than the other? IDK. They're both different representations of the same manga. I personally think that the Japanese version probably is sticking closer to the manga than is the Thai version. But that's ok. The Thai version is simply putting its "spin" on the Japanese work.
Lol at some of the latest comments on here. Sense a theme here lmao. The praise episode 6 got was getting too…
IDK why folks want to compare the Thai remakes of Japanese , Taiwanese or Korean series (or vice versa)? Just as their cultures are different, their representations of BLs will be different. I'm not sure comparing them is actually even needed.
Wow! This series is a messy train wreak! After ep. 9, there's literally no one worth redeeming except Qatar and the kid. LMFAO! I can't wait to see how this series concludes!
The thing is, yes the romance is the center of the series, but there are many other elements. It's not a regular…
Agreed. This is a fantasy series with a romance flare. As much as we all may want more romance, remember, this story also centers around a police unit. A unit where over half the squad are sleeping with each other! LMFAO!
Do not be surprised if Day doesn't get his sight back in ep. 12. That may appear to be a phony ending to an otherwise wonderful series. I think another poster commented about people with visual impairments living healthy. wonderful lives, having relationships and even getting married. There's no reason that Day and Mhok can't have that as well. But, realistically, the door was left open for Day's sight to return because the cornea transplants (at least statistically) have a fairly high success rate. I just think that after the emotionally draining first 11 eps., the audience really could use some positive closure. I hope we get it.
Although it may be a little hopeful, I kind of would like to see Day at least have some return of sight, so he could see Mhok at least once. Cornea transplant surgeries are tricky. Statistically, they are often highly successful when there are not any complications. Sometimes it takes time for vision (even partial vision) to return. All is not necessary lost.
I'm not really sure of what to make of this BL!!! LMBO! It's ALL over the place! It has drama, sex, intrigue, suspense, good looking mains (as well as good looking side couples), a somewhat interesting "fantasy" story involving serpents, sorcery and past lives. Yeah, the plot is also ALL over the place and often times a bit ridiculous. But, somehow, this series makes that ridiculousness work. It's interesting enough to keep one interested. At least it is to me.
This series is like some campy B-movie or B-series, like Buffy the Vampire Slayer or the old 1960's American Batman series or any of those Japanese-made Godzilla movies. Yeah, we know that most of the plot is kind of silly, but in a "campy" silly kind of way. And they are as entertaining as f*ck! LMBO! Bottom line. If you have any great expectations that this series is a cinematic or dramatic masterpiece, then I think you'll be unpleasantly surprised. But, if you just want a series that's fun to watch, has a basic story of "good vs. evil" and that supernatural vibe (even though a bit campy), this is a pretty ok series. LMFAO!
This episode was incredible on so many levels. I'm kind of glad that Day didn't have an immediate "miracle" cure with his sight. That would've been too easy. I'm also not sure that it was necessary for the couple to break up. I do believe that this episode needed to show the trials and tribulations of what both were going through as a couple: Mhok's insecurities about whether he could really take care of Day and that Day could take of himself. And Day coming to the realization of his disability and the true challenges it presents presently and could present in the future. However, both are young and could've had a lifetime to figure all of that out, if they were willing to trust in one another and in themselves.
Personally, I'm hoping the last ep. will not only provide both Mhok and Day with some kind of redemption (whether it be getting back together some time in the future or finding others that similarly make them happy and fullfilled), but will also provide the viewing audience with some appropriate closure. This series has been one of the most emotionally charged BLs in history. It literally allowed all of us to feel what Mhok and Day went through. It made us laugh, it made us cry, and it makes us want to see a happy ending for these two characters. Whatever the equivalent to the Emmy awards or BAFTA awards are for Thailand or Southeast Asia, this series definitely deserves the award for Best Series.
