Title Imperfect Victim Spoiler
Same! It made me SO angry. Poor Zhao Xun. I still find Cheng Gong the worst, because at this point, after what…
That is true! And ultimately, she just cares about power as well. By the way, what are your thoughts on Cheng Mo? I find him terrible as well. She shared so much with him, and he still constantly judges her because she doesn’t fit the image of the perfect virtuous girl he has in mind.

I don’t think she had any legal grounds to fire her yet, given that her actions weren’t illegal. My guess is that later on, it’ll be revealed that Li Yi paid off Yin Sheng and that’ll provide grounds for dismissal.

One thing I find rather odd about the videos being released online is that from a western perspective, they mainly reflect badly on the guy. He invited his employee to a dinner where she’s encouraged to get drunk, and then takes her home when it’s so obvious that she’s heavily intoxicated in the video. She can barely walk straight. It seems pretty obvious that he was taking advantage of her, but somehow public opinion doesn’t see any of that? And in the video where she denied being raped, his behaviour is also super creepy and it’s so obvious that she’s scared. How does no one pick up on that and everyone just hates on her? Is this just a point of cultural difference with different expectations towards women?

Blood boiling watching this. So much frustration but yet in reality this is so real. I can totally feel for Jelly…
Totally agree. And it’s sooo realistic. Jelly Lin is doing an amazing job.

Tonights episodes made me so sad and horrified. I really loathe Li Yi - she is helping him victimise her!
Same! It made me SO angry. Poor Zhao Xun. I still find Cheng Gong the worst, because at this point, after what both Zhao Xun and Lin Kan said to him, he should really have some self reflection. But he still thinks he’s just totally innocent, and is offended that someone didn’t want him. I really like his (ex-) wife though. She can see what an awful person he truly is.

Totally agree with you. Also I wonder, how come that the behaviour of a woman is always questioned? No matter…
Couldn’t agree more. I am disturbed by all the scenes where Lin Kan arranges for Zhao Yun and Cheng Gong to meet privately. It’s so obvious how uncomfortable Zhao Zhun is. Especially given Lin Kan’s own experience, I am honestly surprised how she can still put up with Cheng Gong and let him hug her etc. I get that she’s very professional but he is so disgusting. I think the show is super realistic though - too many times, the victim is blamed even by the system that should protect her like the police.

Very good series, but after watching 11 episodes, I've come to the conclusion that this is not a case of sexual…
And another case of victim blaming. So sad to see this even in the comment section.

It felt like he was treating the imperfect victim like a criminal, which is often the case in rape/domestic violence…
I think even that is quite realistic. No one has advised her to seek legal council and she wouldn’t be able to afford a top lawyer anyways. That’s what I like about the show, it’s so realistic. Even the attitudes of some of the male police officers.

Someone please tell me if the FL is bad? She keeps putting the victim in peril😡😡
I think most of the characters are morally ambiguous, and while I sometimes get frustrated with the FL, I don’t think she’s bad. She acts in accordance with her professional ethics and what she considers her professional duties to be. I also think she deep down has a lot of sympathy for the victim and tries to support her in her own way.

Started watching this a couple of days ago, and it’s one of the best shows I’ve watched in a long time. Amazing acting all around, especially Jelly Lin and Zhou Xun. Can’t wait for the next episodes

Title King the Land Spoiler
If the actors didn't have feelings for each other before, they probably have some sort of feelings for each other…
Totally agree, I am enjoying the show but Gu Won would seem like a terrible manager to me IRL. You can’t just randomly decide to gift your girlfriend and her friends a company-paid retreat, and I am still not sure he’d ever done anything of substance at work. Most of his time seems to be spent drinking coffee and watching Sarang. I hope they give him some more character development at work. Otherwise, I also think that his sister would ultimately be the better CEO, at least she works hard and recognises talent.

I've seen worse in the insta comment section of the actors 😟
Same, and it’s terrible how many comments against the actor are racist as well. 😟

This comment section is really getting too much for me. I have a lot of sympathy for the concerns that were raised, and I agree that kdramas are often super problematic in how they portray other cultures. I was happy to see some genuine discussions about this issue on the comment board, but now it’s just getting ridiculous with so many hateful and toxic comments. It’s impossible to even have a normal conversation about the drama anymore. You guys realise that MDL has nothing to do with the production company, right? Spamming the comment section and posting one-star reviews is not going to get this drama cancelled.

Yup. These people accuse the drama of being racist, but I'm seeing so many racist comments on Anupam Tripathi's…
Yes I saw that as well, and it’s so hypocritical. I feel really sorry for the actor.

The only thing is clear from this situation is Arab people who are attacking are freaking delusional to not differentiate…
Let’s not generalise a whole population please! That said, I also find it upsetting that a lot of people are now harassing the actor on social media. It’s really sad because it’s so rare to see a BIPOC represented in a kdrama at all.

“You are already destroying France“ - That’s a terribly racist comment. And no, I am not Arab or Muslim. I am also genuinely disappointed how many people are liking your comment.

I am curious, what are the steamiest kisses you’ve seen in a kdrama? I can’t really think of any that are steamier than this 😅

lol don't bully me but I just don't feel the FL, hope her acting is good (idk her)
I’ve just watched her in Rattan and City of Streamers and she’s amazing! She’s great at playing strong female characters. Very excited to see her paired with XK.

why is the fl so paitent with other but not with the ML who's way high up😵, she also ignores him completely…
I think she’s already discovered that he’s all bark but no bite, and wouldn’t actually fire her.
