I’m still really enjoying this drama, and it does make me smile quite a bit. But like others I’m also a bit concerned how they’re going to fill 16 episodes given that the ML is already in love.
I am also a bit worried that there will be some annoying family drama, or perhaps even some confusion whether they’re actually siblings (given that FL’s mom also brought her to the hotel and is now no longer in the picture). I really hope there’s nothing like that.
My least favourite character is ML’s sister so far. She just seems unnecessarily mean. I hope ML will show some business skills soon, because so far he’s not really impressive.
Will continue watching. Lee Jun Ho is also just beautiful to look at 😁
It's hurt to see the marriage friend to be treated like that by the awful inlaws. Plus her husband doesn't seem…
Anyone else feels like her husband might be cheating on her?
That scene with the in-laws made me so upset. She just finished working a full day, and then comes homes to see her in-laws doing nothing and expecting her to serve them and clean after them. I’m glad her daughter speaks up, but really she shouldn’t let them treat her like that.
Can someone provide a spoiler for ep 11? I wouldn’t want to watch it if either Yo and Michi, or Kaede and Makoto got back together. In that case, I’d rather stick with the ep 10 ending. But I would be quite happy to watch it if there was a time jump and we see Makoto and Michi dating by the end.
This must be one of the most realistic tv shows I’ve ever watched. Lots of people seem to be critical of Michi and Makoto, but I think they’re just really human and it’s so interesting to see their progression in realising that they both ultimately married the wrong person who doesn‘t want the same things in life.
Interestingly, I am getting the sense that Michi‘s reason for wanting a divorce is actually not directly connected to Makoto. She finally realised that Yo never wanted the same things as her (including kids) and that she can’t go on with this type of relationship. I think Makoto helped her with this realisation, but he isn’t the driving force. Whereas I am not sure Makoto would have pushed for a divorce if it wasn’t for Michi. And it looks like in the next episode, both men will try to fight for her. I seriously hope Michi won’t go back to Yo. I don’t see a future where they’ll ever be happy together. Michi and Makoto perhaps (at least they both seem to want similar things in life), but I also wouldn’t be surprised if Michi just wants a clean breakup, focus on herself, rather than going for another relationship. In which case it would be interesting to see whether Makoto would go back to Kaede.
I loved how Michi owned Kaede. Cheating or not, Kaede is not committed to marriage and is using Makato. She is…
Yep, and by the end of ep. 8, she’s decided that she will continue prioritising her job and didn’t even bother telling her husband that she’s going for the editor-in-chief position. She’s just selfish, and wants to keep dragging Makoto along despite realistically knowing that she wants a life where she’d married to her job, which will never make him happy.
What I find the most painful to watch is the absolute lack of communication in both marriages. And Makoto and Kaede are even worse than Michi and Yo in my opinion in terms of how little they actually communicate with each other. I’m not even sure how they’d ever get divorced, because they can’t seem to have a 5 min conversation together about how miserable they are, and getting divorced would also require some honest communication.
I just want both couples to get divorced. It’s getting pretty excruciating to watch, although it’s probably realistic especially in a culture where divorce is frowned upon. It’s just so clear that these marriages are broken, and they all need to move on. Even if Michi and Makoto don’t end up together, I would consider both couples divorcing a good ending for everyone!
I love this drama. I just watched the last episode and with 2 episodes left I don’t think there is any hope…
I agree, although the drama unfortunately gives me the vibes of an open ending, or an ending where everyone ends up miserable. I think Makoto and Michi are much better suited for each other, and I could see both of them being happy together. They both seem like people who want to have a family and would be super caring parents. Neither Kaede nor Yo particularly give me a sense that they’re very keen on that kind of life. It’s just sad how they keep holding on to their relationships, despite possibly knowing that they can’t make their partners happy.
Maybe it was just me but was disappointed in the Kaede/Michi scene. Kaede should have had the upper hand in that…
That’s just bizarre to me. I don’t think anyone should be able to sue anyone for having an affair. I am glad I don’t live in a culture like that. Not that I agree with cheating as such, but humans are humans and sometimes we make dumb mistakes. It shouldn’t be a criminal offence. And ultimately, Kaede is married to Makoto and not Michi. If anyone should get sued, it’s him who had given her (Kaede) a vow. Not the other woman (Michi).
I can’t help myself and am rooting for Michi and Makoto, despite knowing that it is super unlikely they’ll have a happy ending together. But at the very least, I hope Michi will get a divorce. I don’t doubt that Yo has feelings for her, but I almost get the sense that he sees her more as a mother or sister, rather than a genuine life partner and he just doesn’t want to lose her because life is so convenient with her. And I hate how he has been gaslighting her so much. Kaede and Makoto are a bit more difficult to read - there might still be hope for them but I think ultimately they want quite different things in life. Based on the trailer, it looks like there’s quite a bit of angst in the next episode with Kaede confronting Michi, which I am not looking forward to. Ultimately, this is something she needs to sort out with Makoto rather than blaming “the other woman”.
you might want to read the thread about ep33 and cut scenes in the 'Recent Discussions' section above...
Thanks, I’ll do that. Because the episode is honestly so hard to follow, probably the worst episode in the whole show so far. I hope this doesn’t continue for the next few episodes!
Finally watched ep 33 and the pacing and editing seems really weird? I struggle to follow what happens and am also confused by LSS costume changes which seem to come from nowhere? Is that just an issue with ep 33 and kisskh?
I assume I am the only one complaining about constant flashbacks? We are already short in time, do we need that…
I completely agree. I also feel like they’ve been using more flashbacks in the immortal arc than they did before? Or am I imaging this? If it’s true, it’s pretty annoying given that the immortal arc is already quite short.
Ikr. I haven’t read the novel but I feel like there is so much stuff to go through, 10 episodes don’t seem…
I agree, dream arc should have been shorter and ep 29-31 could have probably been condensed more. Today episode wasn’t bad, but they could have shortened it.
Yes but it looks like LSS and TTJ won’t meet until ep 32 which is quite disappointing.
Based on previews, it looks like they‘re in the same library in ep 31 but don’t see each other and then they’ll properly meet in ep 32. Which seems like a long time to go.
I am also a bit worried that there will be some annoying family drama, or perhaps even some confusion whether they’re actually siblings (given that FL’s mom also brought her to the hotel and is now no longer in the picture). I really hope there’s nothing like that.
