Her mannerism reminds me A LOT of her character in extraordinary attorney woo, and I personally wish she played Mokha a bit differently. I thought she was brilliant in attorney woo but now I am wondering if that’s just Park Eun Bin’s acting style?

Does this heat index really matter that much in the long term if by all other measures it is successful?

Hmm but I think it’s much more common that the ML ends up becoming emperor. How many and which cdramas can you actually think of where the ML will just roam the lands at the end?

Ugh… so disappointed in this but at least I am now prepared for this ending. It’s kinda annoying though because it does seem very cliché.

Are they based on real people, or how do you know that about the ML from GMP being their descendant?

Personally I was hoping that the kid gets reinstated as Crown Prince in the end, and CL and LN could roam the world as they had always talked about. Being emperor / empress just seems so depressing to me haha

Ohhh I see! I hadn’t watched the preview yet. I guess that will make the whole political situation more complex because Sun Jing would want to use him as a puppet. Maybe that would bring LN to go for the Crown Prince position after all (at least temporarily).

I wonder about that too. I can’t imagine that it would be about CL‘s imprisonment, given that that’s clearly not an issue at the moment. Maybe it’s about LN refusing to marry into the Cui family but perhaps demanding that CL should still marry him (which I suppose would leave the Cui family without an heir)? But I am guessing it’s something totally different that we don’t know yet

I think she has already quite strongly indicated in the latest episode (19) that she wants LN to rule, because she told her father that LN would be a good ruler, and that’s why she wants to support him. Rather than the Cui army fighting for the throne.

But it’s pretty obvious LN has no ambition for politics. I wonder what will happen with the Crown Prince‘s son who is currently in hiding. Is he still in hiding by ep 24?

I found the cavalry at the start also a bit weird, but at least the other siege weapons made sense. I actually enjoyed seeing a battle scene because they had basically skipped all the previous battles. But I’ve heard that filming battle scenes is actually quite expensive, so makes sense that they don’t show too many

I think one of my favourite small gestures was actually when LN was petting Ying’s horse as he was waiting for her, and he was looking at the horse with so much affection. 😁

And from the ep 20-21 teaser it looks like Cui Yi wants LN to marry into the Cui family -as a matrilocal husband - but LN refuses (probably because he still feels family obligations).

I am a bit confused about the whole crown Prince thing though, because I thought LN doesn’t want to become Crown Prince anyway. He wants the crown prince’s son to be reinstated.

Ep 17 & 18 were SO good! So glad they changed the airing schedule and we’ll get more episodes this week.

And I’m glad that the leads made up, and what an amazing proposal scene! I watched it about 3 times 😁

I also found the battle scene really good! So far they haven’t shown many of the actual battles, and what a move from the Crown Princess. I assume Sun Jin won’t actually be dead just yet, but I guess he’ll have to retreat from the city.

I wonder if that means that fairly soon some of the more internal politics stuff is going to start. My guess is LN’s father and brothers won’t agree to the marriage because that would make LN far too powerful.

I honestly don’t know what you’re talking about. After he found out about his friends being betrayed, HE started fighting her when she wanted to walk away and give him space. He also injured her in the process and said he didn’t want to see her again. So she left. And she only defended herself when he started to fight her. I don’t know what you were expecting her to do in this situation. He clearly didn’t believe her (fair enough given their history), what was she meant to do?

Plus, while surely the soldiers were important to Li Ni, I don’t think he lost anyone who was really close to him. None of his closest friends or confidants died.

Whereas FL literally lost her very best friend since earliest childhood (and just a few weeks earlier, one of the bodyguards who must have also been very close to her died). As someone who has experienced a very close friend dying, I find her grief incredibly realistic. A lot of dramas are not very realistic about how grief and depression feels like.

And I wouldn’t say “all due to their own making”. They were literally being betrayed by another party, the ML knew about it, and happily watched while her people (not just SML who was responsible for the previous attack) were being killed. Surely not just SML died but also others who were just following orders. And the fact is, that ML knew how important SML was to her and that she’d be devastated. He still chose to stand by and watch how her best friend died.

I am not saying I blame him for his actions, but I find it bizarre how people think he’s a simp. He is also now using her as hostage to blackmail her father. Also not actions of a simp, especially given it’s very clear now that she was innocent.

I can also see why FL is upset and disappointed. It must be hard to see how the person you love stands by and watches how a person who is like family to you is killed. The reality is that there could have been other ways to deal with SML (including taking him hostage), and ML decided to let him die. I get why, but I also get why FL is upset. Plus she knows that he’s holding her hostage. He wants her to be all lovely dovey with him again, when he’s holding her hostage.

But it’s so typically that this comment section immediately hates on the FL again. It’s so typical for dramas - so hard to find a drama where people don’t hate on the FL.

Really enjoyed the world building here, I wish it was a drama instead of a movie so we could see more of it.

And they did develop a really strong bond when they filmed her music video, and because they shared the same domestic violence experience. So I do think Kiho was really important to her as a person - it makes sense that she really wants to find him. But I didn’t get romantic vibes from her when they were friends in middle school. Him yes, probably from the moment he heard her singing, but I don’t think she had romantic feelings for him. But it’s a kdrama, so I think it’s a very high likelihood they’ll end up together 😅 which is a shame, because it would be more interesting to me if she fell in love with Woo Hak.
