I really don’t care if some people prefer one over the other. I think they’re both good, and even if you don’t like WoL, I really don’t mind. People have different preferences. I meant how you responded to some people.
haven't seen such a strong, well-written 2nd ML in a long time whoa. I'm curious how they're gonna shift JXN's…
I think I’m the only one who isn’t feeling XW & JXN yet. What episode does JXN meet ZZ in present time again? I just finished ep 7, and they haven’t met yet.

Well, you were also pretty rude there to some people.
I personally like both dramas, they’re just totally different. I find WoL more enjoyable to watch, because it’s much more light hearted and I like the couple better. Here I am having second lead syndrome. But the story does have more depth, I agree with that.
10 episodes in and I’m still really loving it. The pacing is great. I am actually hoping that Li Ni won’t become emperor in the end, because that would mean that the FL would end up stuck in the imperial harem where I can’t imagine her being happy. And he’d ultimately have to get other concubines. But given that the crown prince’s son is already shown as quite a sympathetic and smart character, my guess is that Li Ni would perhaps just be regent until the crown prince’s son is old enough to rule (and hopefully less societal pressure on LN and HY/CL).
Li Ni's heartbreak moments goes against his character traits. I hope he breaks out of the heartbreak syndrome…
I think he’s already over the heartbreak. And I think he already kinda knows that what she told him isn’t true anyway - that was pretty clear when he tried to test “young master” / fake CL
Just finished catching up from ep 5-8 and I love the development so far. The storytelling and pacing is progressing…
I totally agree! Also people seem to forget that ML had already won Bingzhou and so FL would have obviously tried everything to at least win the other city. I am glad they’re a bit more even now. Especially given that the last few episodes she was a bit of a damsel in distress. Personally I love how cunning and smart she is, and that she has her own goals that are independent from the ML. Ultimately, I think ML is very similar in character - it was implied that he also invited her out to see the lanterns because he wanted to keep her away from the plot where his men tried to find the tiger tally. They both have their own goals, that they’re set on.
but it also shows that female lead is aware of li ni ' s feelings . 💖
Totally! And she obviously has feelings for him too, but I like that she doesn’t lose sight of her goals. It’s such a nice change to have a smart, capable and decisive FL. They’re like cat and mouse together! And I loved that LN has already admitted to himself that he’s in love with her.
Is it just me or Jing Tian is so different in this drama? Loving it!!
I think she’s pretty amazing in all the dramas I’ve seen with her. Have you seen her in Rattan? She’s incredible there. One thing I really appreciate about her acting is that she does seem like a different person in every drama.
Ok I'm sorry but the FL turned into a wimp and a damsel in distress very fast😅 Please give me back my strong…
To be fair, she did get injured but I agree to some extent. She’s still clearly very smart but wish she didn’t have to be saved in every fight. I guess in Asian dramas the ML always has to be a bit more powerful which is annoying.
I find the patterns on the clothes also make it feel more like a fusion drama than historically accurate but I’m…
I thought they had a bit of a modern style? One of XK‘s outfits looked like it had leopard prints on them haha. But I don’t watch that many Wuxia dramas, so quite possible that you’re right!
pretty interesting drama. It is very balanced. It has several aspects of a historical drama but mixes them with…
I find the patterns on the clothes also make it feel more like a fusion drama than historically accurate but I’m not complaining. I love the slightly modern vibes and banter.
