Everything about this drama should be perfect for me but the "romance" is killing it imo. The writers are trying…
It's funny how everytime she calls GC when she's in a dangerous situation, she just ends up leaving the scene. Like when she got attack in the office room & the parking area explosion. The writer just wants a way for them to meet alone in ridiculous dramatic ways.😒
YSP has more charm than both GC & YS combined. I can’t believe he’s not an option in this messy love triangle charade lol.
Ffs. She's sitting in an interview room and her own attorney is so stupid, she's trying to get her to admit to…
The whole courtroom scene in Ep 8 was completely pointless. MR was late to the courtroom session & didn’t bring in the evidence? Like she should be prepared already & present the stuff on the spot. But nah - let’s have GC swoop in to bring in the evidence like a knight in shiny armor? He didn’t even need to be in the scene but the writer just wants SJ & GC to have a googly eye moment😒.
Didn’t expect that backstory for SJ but they went full on makjang with the show 😒. Like the writer just went & made SJ to be a poor pitiful soul with shitty family shitty ex-boyfriend who also has a shitty family & now the whole daughter thing. Kind of annoyed with the direction is the story is taking. It’s basically rinse & repeat. SJ getting into trouble then getting out of trouble. Her law students is playing Scooby Doo most of the time. I almost forgot GC was even a key character in the story. I could careless about the bland-poorly constructed romance or stupid love triangle. YS liking SJ??? Why is that even a thing😒.
Final Verdict - If anyone is interested in watching, it’s not worth spending hours chugging through 8 episodes unless your a huge SHJ fan. There’s literally NO character development so far whatsoever. The major draw in for this drama is SHJ acting but other than that, it doesn’t even feel like a law drama. Everyone acts like a wannabe detective. I was expecting for more courtroom shenanigans.
I’ll just wait for Extraordinary Attorney Woo. That looks like a courtroom drama without all the unnecessary makjang stuff & badly written romance.
I really hope their friendship stays good like this. Hopefully no one turns to the dark side or hates one another…
Right. I don’t want jealousy become a trait that destroys relationship 😒. I want to see how far UK & Naksu’s current relationship will develop especially their master & pupil role.
Y’all it’s best to ignore users purposely coming here spamming & whatnot. Don’t feed the fire even more. They are commenting here just to get a reaction. At this point it ‘s childish fighting.
Synopsis sounds like a typical chinese xuanhuan drama
Yeah it’s not a trademark-patent idea. I’m just saying it’s shown in fantasy c-dramas & webnovels so the inspiration might have come from that. China & Korea are neighboring countries so it’s like they both take inspiration & influence eachother.
Synopsis sounds like a typical chinese xuanhuan drama
The way the magic system works is different but the concept is similar (not saying it’s a copied) more like inspired? In Chinese drama it’s not all the same either. I just gave an example from Evernight. The energy from sky & lake in AOS is like the energy from Heaven (sky) & Earth (land) which is prominent theme in fantasy c-dramas & webnovels.
AOS seems fresh because a concept & magic system like this have never been done before for a kdrama which is nice to see.
Synopsis sounds like a typical chinese xuanhuan drama
I’m not speaking about master & pupil concept or martial arts. I’m speaking more about the magic system in AOS (energy & gates) which is like concept of ‘cultivation’ + chi , a cultivator who can harness energy through chi-points through their body which is seen in a lot of Chinese webnovel and fantasy cdramas.
Uk can’t be a mage because his gates has been blocked by his dad. So in order for him to be one, his gate (to channel energy of Daeho lake) has to be unblocked-open.
Synopsis sounds like a typical chinese xuanhuan drama
The concept of the word mage has western connotation but the idea of channeling energy from Daeho lake & opening and closing one’s gate is similar to the idea of cultivation & chi which is prominent in fantasy wuxia c-dramas and manhua & Chinese webnovels. If you’ve seen Evernight you’ll know what I’m saying. Because in EN, energy known as nascent(innate) energy is drawn through cultivation. One can only cultivate if all their acupoints (kind of like chi)has been open. If it’s blocked, they can’t cultivate. The ML in EN can’t cultivate because his channels of acupoints has been blocked. Uk situation in AOS is similar in that retrospect. Btw, I’m not saying AOS is copying Chinese cultivation, I’m just saying that the concept of mage in AOS is like cultivation that’s in fantasy c-dramas.

I want character development & character driven arc. I’ll choose that over any ridiculous love triangle.
Please ignore THAT person everyone.
