I don’t live in France.

I’m from the states and Chinese people get made of for eating dog meat in a derogatory way.

Like I said I’m done taking about this. This comments section has become such a cesspool.

Today I am cooking dog meat in a spicy sauce. I must be stealing chinese culture somewhere?...
It’s not up for you to decide what’s not cultural appropriation if you’re not part of that said culture. Some may be okay with it but not everyone is.

I’m not Chinese or Korean so I can’t say whether having Chinese or Korean writing-characters as tattoo is deemed inappropriate.

There plenty of articles & videos out there to educate oneself that explains what culture appropriation is.

Saying Chinese people eat dog does have a historical racist- stereotypical connotation. Because Chinese people gets made fun of-joked about this in a derogatory way. French people don’t get made fun of for eating frogs.

How would you know who’s from where. It’s best not to make assumptions about peoples’ nationality/ethnicity here.

Anywho I’m not going to argue or speak about this any further on a MDL since I came here to comment about the drama itself.

My comment still stands.

I’m not comparing the amount of dynasties China & Korea had. I’m saying that Korea wasn’t just Joseon that’s why the characters aren’t wearing hanboks. And Korea during Goryeo period have semblance of Chinese traditional wear & style because they are neighboring countries.

People are entitled to their own opinion & critiques but it gets annoying when the section is filled with comments just to get a riled up reaction-into arguments. Also, please refrain yourself from saying racist things, it’s not a good look.

How about not make racist-derogatory comments.

Like you can enjoy this show without saying these kinds of things.

Wuxia tends to have a more acrobatic-inhuman fighting style. This one sorta of has it but not straight up Wuxia.…
6 flying dragons is set during the creation of Joseon & the end of Goryeo era. Also, that show had pretty amazing fight scenes too.

The fight style in AOS reads a lot like Evernight (c-drama). Not straight up wuxia & with a hint of fantasy elements.

They are saying even being blind is a plagarism lool
The concept of blind master has been done before but definitely not a copy right-patent idea. Technically MD is blind but Naksu isn’t.

Wuxia tends to have a more acrobatic-inhuman fighting style. This one sorta of has it but not straight up Wuxia. It’s definitely not a xianxia since this isn’t placed in a spiritual-god realm. It’s just fantasy with martial arts in it.

I think people are forgetting that Korea has gone through different era & not just Joseon. That’s why the clothes and hairstyle looks different from other historical kdramas usually set in Joseon. And yes, Korea has influence from China because they are neighboring countries.

If cdrama fans are considered unreasonable because they think this drama has a cdrama vibe, and think they are…
You realize that Korea has undergone different dynasties right. Like every other culture. This drama is most likely set in a fictional fantasy world during Goryeo period because the hanboks are not worn. Hanboks were introduced & more prominently worn in the Joseon Era that’s commonly seen in kdramas, a time after Goryeo dynasty which is what modern hanboks are from. Goryeo traditional attire has some semblance of hanfus but are not hanfus. Also, Goryeo was a neighboring country of Ancient China, that’s why the clothes draws a bit of similarity but are not the same.

The Hong sisters are known for plagiarism They did the same thing with Hotel del Lina
I didn’t watch Hotel de Luna. Honestly I’m not a fan of the Hong Sisters but I decided to give this one a watch. I mean I hated BiG.

The rating is bugged with MDL's algorithm guys! This happens all the time with newer series, but they get fixed…
I can see the concept of ‘cultivation’ as a source inspiration with the whole mage + gates to harness/ channel energy but to say it’s a copy or downright plagiarism from fantasy c-drama is a bit of a reach.
On Alchemy of Souls Jun 21, 2022
The drama definitely has modern elements but it’s most definitely inspired by Goryeo time period, a period way before Jeoson era. That’s why the clothes looks different from the usual hanboks that’s commonly seen in historical kdramas. They aren’t wearing Chinese hanfus. Also, fantasy & martial arts has been done in kdrama & films before so it’s not trying to copy Wuxia or Xianxia style.

I believe it’s Demon. It will be 12 episodes. It hasn’t been officially confirmed yet but most likely, I think she will take it given that her agency has not officially declined it either.

I think they are waiting to cast the ML. Heard over the grapevine-rumor that KEH is interested in Jisung or Song Joong Ki for the ML but nothing is official yet since these two are still currently filming their drama. It’s assumed that the Demon production team is waiting for the actor(s) to finish filming their current project & filming for the Demon starts in Sept to Dec.
