It’s one of those drama where the story flows slightly more cohesively as you watch. I mean the first quarter was basically a trench war zone arc lol. Although the directing style isn’t my liking & the translation is rough. Once they introduce MXY, the story really kicks in & becomes more easily digestible. Really like MXY intro into the story in ep 11.
I put this on hold after ep 12 since I got a strong feeling that the drama is getting more melodramatic, but finally…
A break needed to happen because they don’t end up together. My gripe is the way it happens. Not everyone ends up with their first love but no way does everyone in real life have their first love that's beautifully portray & deep as HD & YJ. It transcends all things even romantic love. It’s just love.
YJ literally ran across the city to track a referee at a hotel & airport just to get facts straight for HD, drove to a train station to pick her up so she won't be late, fought against his seniors(which he could have gotten fire for on the spot since he’s a newbie) so HD won't get physically hurt & wrongly portray in the media, & worry about the little bruises on her toes. He doesn't like when HD avoids him.
It’s a fictional story. If this was realistic, Yurim & JW would not lasted that long, SW would not meet YH years later because suddenly they all met to attend SW’s father funeral who we didn’t know even exist lol? And YJ’s father is a financial criminal who wasn’t even held accountable? But they all end up with cookie cutter endings.
What happened to Bali & Let’s go to school Sang Doo, were dramas I watched as a kid. Both dramas were terrible lol & it definitely didn’t age well. The death trope literally happens at the end in the most melodramatic-nonsensical manner lol.
Yes, It was a common trope to kill off ML in the early 2000 dramas. I mean we all thought YJ was dead in the present lol 😂. YJ is pretty much nonexistent in 2021 since we don’t actually get to see him.
Sending death threats to the production team & cast is dumb in general for any drama but I’ve only seen people hating-disliking-critiquing the last ep/ending of 2521.
The sister was talking about divorced men/dating but the man(who I assume is divorced) with his daughter sat next to them happens to work at same company as MJ so they all felt embarrassed talking like that.
It's my first time watching Kim Tae Ri and she should be nominated for Best Actress this year. She nailed her…
NHD is one of the more unique & memorable FL in kdramaland for sure. And with KTR portrayal, it made me enjoyed the show a whole lot more. Yes, I may be bias but KTR has always been consistent in all the stuff she’s been in so she deserves a BaekSang this year.
It keeps hitting me how much this writer dropped the ball. We could’ve all been talking about the beautiful…
It’s pretty much a plot device to fling YJ overseas & to point out 2001 timeline.
The thing is NY wasn’t his only viable option. He didn’t want to work in NY because of money. His mental health didn’t need to suffer because - martyr complex (which is annoying trope). This could’ve been an important-pivotal point in YJ character development where he realize he doesn’t need to drown in distress for the sake of a job & acknowledge his limitations when times get tough it’s okay to reach out. Let ML be vulnerable & not ‘I’m going to keep all my misery to myself’ which is an annoying conflict in itself.
It’s like the writer wanted to address mental health but it barely scratch the surface because we never really to see it explored in depth. Then boom - time skips to 2009 yet we don’t really know what happens to YJ in 2021. Instead we’re left with a cryptic flashback in 20somethin’15 with a security question of YJ at UBS 😒
It would been nice to see the romantic relationship explored where it elevated the characters & not serve as a plot device solely for a break up to happen. Because if HD & YJ never entered a romantic relationship the way it was presented, they would still been friends in the long run.

Congrats D.P team. ✨ One of the best watch of 2021!
It took me 2-3 episodes to really get into My Mister, so it might be the same case for MLN since it has the same tone, pacing, directing style. It’s like seeing real people through lenses rather than watching a drama play out.
MJ is a very relatable character. Her thoughts & expression and mannerism especially when she’s in a crowd of people constantly checking her phone & not in the moment.
Mr Goo barely said anything but piqued my interest.
Another note, the dialogue is - okay. Nothing stands out much. I hope it’s more cleaner-tight in the next episode.
Also ZH as ZSl is sooo handsome.

I mean I don’t know why they couldn’t pan to HD’s husband or MC as a toddler - even if it’s from their back visible only - at her retirement lol.

I think the writer wanted to point out that HD is married in a dramatized way.
I’ve seen D.P. & I’m rooting for that one too.

One of the best watch of 2021!
This is KTR 4th nomination. I really hope she wins this year! She really deserved a win for Mr Sunshine & The Handmaiden.
Congrats! Well deserve!✨😌🎉
Best Picture - 2521 ✨
Best Actress - KimTaeRi ✨
Best New Actor - ChoiHyunWook ✨
Honestly I’m surprised since the show aired very late into the awards season. KTR was one of the reason why I watched 2521.
This is KTR 2nd nomination for a BaekSang for Best Actress (Drama) & 4th overall so I’m stoked! Congrats to all nominees this year!
