Ok, i need to say this - even though there have been only 6 episodes released so far, i'm already ready to give…
Yep, the secondary characters plays an important part of the overall story too because they impact & affect the main characters actions. They actually have depth & aren’t throw away characters, something that is really hard to pull off in an organic & engaging way with a large cast. The screenwriter is doing a great job so far with HomeCha. It has an immersive style of story telling. It almost has a family drama vibe to it without being ‘makjang’ overly dramatic lol & is much more grounded. I can see why it’s reaching high numbers in rating amongst the general public in SK.

A lot of people won’t like this but these two are different worlds and should never be in a romantic relationship
That’s the point though? They are polar opposites lol. HJ & DS aren’t going to see eye to eye. But that doesn’t mean they can’t be together romantically. These two have only known each other for a mere few months. Both aren’t going to change so easily just to be together or admit they have interest in each other. She still has that ‘social position’ mindset & he’s not fond of her uptight attitude. DS’s got some baggage he needs to unpack too. It’s all about communication & respect. They only started the communication part albeit some misunderstanding here & there, but it hasn’t caused any major conflicts they both couldn’t resolve. It’s only been 6 episodes so I’m curious to see how they both compromise & work to help each other grow. They’re both flawed characters with differences. To me, HJ & DS’s flaws reads more realistic than leads in other kdramas.

I think that HDS has some unresolved issues with Seoul in general. My theory is that his dad is still alive, and…
Hmmm…sounds like a interesting theory. That could be a possibility.

Gam Ri once said "He can do everything expecting finding wife" like c'mon she knows about his past no one who…
Coincidences as fleeting moments to me but I get what your saying. I’m not sure yet about DS past but only time will tell when the story dives deeper.

Gam Ri once said "He can do everything expecting finding wife" like c'mon she knows about his past no one who…
I mean she might know but not the whole truth? It’s just a theory at this point. It could be the partner/child of a close friend? But I want to know why the man’s face wasn’t shown to the audience when DS cried? It showed the woman & kid. I don’t see DS & HJ story as fate or destiny. More like mere coincidences to me. And yes, if the story plays out this way it would be sad.

I’m assuming the reason DS is telling HJ he wants to be friends even though there is an obvious attraction is because he does not want to be attached or romantically involved with HJ because of guilt? He might feel guilty for liking someone after losing someone he must’ve loved (theory about losing wife & child)and feels like he doesn’t deserve love or be loved thinking it might have been his fault? DS can’t just spilled all the beans to HJ about what happened those 5 years since it is very personal & traumatic. No one knew what happened that time when he was living in the city besides grandma. I like that Chun Jae Cafe owner told DS that he should lean on someone once in a while.

Title The Veil
They spent a lot of money on this production, hopefully it was worth it ‘cus even money can’t buy good writing or directing. Good action drama with well choreographed fight scenes with engaging plot that doesn’t burn out halfway are rare in kdramaland so I’m curious to see how this plays out.

I honestly don't mind product placement but yes her dramas has lots of fillers!
I don’t mind product placement either but it’s annoyingly obvious in KES dramas specifically when the characters dialogue has to accommodate the product being promoted. There’s nothing wrong with fillers but most of the time it is unrelated to the actual story & it’s just redundant & mundane things lol.
Ashu Sep 17, 2021
I’ve only seen 2 dramas of KES, Goblin & Mr Sunshine, both I did not complete & dropped halfway. My biggest gripe about Goblin was that it was bombarded with obvious product placement so not only are the characters & story constraint to a 16 ep run time with filler scenes that lacked depth but the characters ends up becoming blatant props to promote advertisements for companies which takes me out of the immersion of the story.

Do you think this drama has a chance of being 2021’s highest rated cable drama in the second half? Or maybe this year? Love to see it pass the 15% mark.
On Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha Sep 15, 2021
Up to 6 ep & the directing still manages to be very good, no weird edits or cuts, and with smooth transitions. Love the shots through the windows. I can see why it hit double digits last week in SK & remains high on MDL. It has a very homely vibe to it while being entertaining/engaging without being over the top. I’m still interested to see where the story takes all the characters.

Alright...since i haven't seen anyone bring it up yet..He is in therapy.She possibly needs a therapist, because…
Yep.

I feel like the reason he’s doing all he can to help people because he couldn’t help someone he cared about those mystery 5years during his stay in the city. It seems to be a coping mechanism to deal with his depression/sadness or grief and the nightmare he’s been having.

I’m assuming the photo is his past partner or some he knew personally? Maybe DS used to be like HJ who was all about that financially stable money nice life in the city. He looked like a troublemaker in his teenage years & maybe wanted a better life when he left the Gongjin, graduated from a prestigious school, & got married/had a child. After some sort of incident (possible death of someone) decided that he wanted to move back to the seaside & lead a different approach to life. Like a new start. Maybe that’s why he dislikes HJ’s ‘social position’ mindset?

I like how no ones is team this or team that character but more so team ‘development’ lol. I think all the characters on this show needs some growth & change. I really like DS but he can’t expect HY, whom he has yet to form a relationship with, change to ‘fit’ his standard so easily. That’s not how it works. He’s also too self-involve when not needed to be. He doesn’t have to fix everything in people’s live (although I’m curious & there is def a reason as to why he does it). HJ is already slowly but surely showing some growth. Plus, I like that some of the things HJ says has already helped DS see certain things in a different light. They both have said things that helped each other understand things more. Even through all the bickering & misunderstanding, I like that both DS & HJ can still talk without it being weird or too awkward to the point it adds overly dramatic constraint or conflicts.

I’m feeling that a bromance will be brewing between DS & SH lol. They both share common interest & hobbies and their arguments feels more like friendly banter. I mean did you see the way he caught DS when he almost fell over lol like a knight catching a princess. It was too funny.

If there is a love triangle, SH wasn’t really a competitor to begin with. I mean this is DS we’re talking about. The ultimate renaissance man. I feel like SH will be the catalyst that pushes DS & HJ closer in a romantic way.

I hate classist folks too lol. But I don’t really see HJ completely like that since she didn’t really grew up with that mindset seeing how she was in college. But I like that she’s trying even though it’s to her benefit only. She has to start somewhere lol.

Am I the only one that absolutely can’t stand Hye Jin? Her personality is gross and I get that through the show…
Human trash???? She’s an uptight city girl but I wouldn’t go as far as calling her human trash. Yes, she exudes classism mindset & the whole “social position” nonsense but a lot of people are like that in real life. I’m not excusing her behavior when she say insensitive stuff but she always reflected upon her actions & apologizes when she realizes she made a mistake & tries to fix it. She’s trying which is a good start. She’s not going to change instantly over night. It’s unrealistic. She does have compassion. HJ is not an outright mean nasty person. Her flaws feel much more realistic than other FL in most dramas.

Even the most decent person would look like a villain next to a patron saint like DS lol.

I really like DS’s pants lol. It’s unique & when he lets his overall straps hang lose. He looks very comfortable.
I didn’t watch startup, I tried but it didnt interest me. Could barely pass 2 ep lol. I think KSH looks way better here. Something about the simple messy ness of his outfits & the scruffy ness of his hair makes him very attractive. Very down to earth looking guy. It also helps that they don’t put too much makeup on him.
