Very creepy and uncomfortable to watch. I am not in the age anymore where I find toxic behavior and a cute face…
The story has potential to dive deep but then again most kdrama rarely scratches the surface about these kinds of subjects. I hope it does or I’ll be *eye-rolling annoyed lol.
Is he really a walking red flag like everyone says cuz I can't deal with a ml like that
Yes. But it’s done in a subdued way & with a purpose. Unlike other dramas that either glamorize it in a overt romantic or comedic light, but it is apparent. If you watch it and feel unnerving & uncomfortable, I think the drama is doing a decent job portraying those toxic attributes.
I'm not sure, this is a good thing, people are going to think he is a diversity hire.
The MCU actually NEEDS more diverse range of characters who aren’t always white. Why is it when non-white actors gets hire for these major films, they get labeled the term ‘diversity hire’. It’s Hollywood’s fault for being overly saturated with whiteness to the point people are so skeptical-judgemental about non-white actors.
I don't think much of it tbh. I love Seo Joon, but don't see the need for him to be in any Hollywood production.…
If PSJ wants to venture into Hollywood mainstream territory, I think it’s fine. Marvel must have approached him & it’s probably something he wants to do. Also, I don’t expect him to speak perfect or clear English. I don’t know know why people always expect foreign/Asian actors to speak perfect or clear English for American films. He could be a native Korean character who speaks Korean? I mean there’s subtitles. I don’t think it’s a waste of his time. More so Marvel would be wasting PSJ’s time if he’s relegated to a ‘cameo’ role. But hey if he’s getting paid big bucks to say two lines heck I’d take the job too lol. I mean 100k for 3 sentences, count me in. Although I prefer PSJ to have a meaty role in it.
I agree, it would be more befitting to hire Korean/Asian American actors if the role calls for a Korean character since Asian American actors rarely gets to be part of these mainstream projects.
I’m surprised with the Disney+ & JTBC partnership along with that big budget to boot. 1st Korean drama on the streaming platform. The production team & studio is wow. I’m not sure if I’m feeling the cast but it sounds interesting. Hopefully the writing doesn’t disappoint.
Okay so here's my theory: As you might know, in Korean 'Nabi' means butterfly, on the other hand, butterflies…
It might be more so on NB’s end since the story is seen from her perspective. As you say, butterfly is symbolic for change. Like when a butterfly undergoes a metamorphosis. NB is still in the stage of a caterpillar in cocoon who hasn’t quite blossom out of her shell yet. It will be interesting to see how her outlook on love & life, specifically her mindset about herself, starts to change in a different light.
Even though I’m not feeling the story & characters yet, NB has potential for character development since this is seen from her perspective. Honestly I would hate it if the writer tries to make the audience sympathize PJE as some poor unfortunate soul. He can be shit all he wants as long as his actions are NOT seen as ‘okay’. For now, in NB’s mindset PJE happens to be something ‘positive’ so it will be interesting how her perspective of him changes when it’s starts to sour.
Oh my Ghostess is her best drama out of the lot. Must watch !! Doom i didn't enjoy at all unfortunately.
I watched Oh My Ghostess years back when it aired but didn’t finish it. I had issues with that one lol. Didn’t care for Strong Girl Bongsoon or Abyss. PBY is a great actress but her drama projects don’t excite me lol. Try to give DAYS a chance but unfortunately it’s the bin for me.
not liking FL character, she's so easy to manipulate
I don’t think she’s that easily manipulated but she is vulnerable emotionally when it comes to love. I think she’s actually quite aware what she’s getting herself into but doesn’t care because it gives her satisfaction & attention that she needs. Once it’s starts to hit her mentally & physically in a negative light, it’s only when she decides it’s enough but she runs into the same cycle again.
Her first relationship started out that way. She met her shit ex because he paid attention to her in that art class. I think was he was a teacher who was pretty handsy towards her. Then he started saying all these nice-turn-bitter things about her & made decisions without her consent, like the art piece. It’s only when she saw him with another woman, she decided to end it. Now with PJE, here comes a new guy whose touching her flirting with her giving her all the attention. His advances is definitely inappropriate but she likes it. But when PJE starts giving other women attention, NB hates it & becomes distant towards him. PJE is fully aware of her mannerism so he uses it to his advantage. NB likes his attention even though she thinks he might have other women on the side & PJE likes to play with her.
another FL be used for the second time from a jerk ML.whyyy? i think the plot would be so much more if she learn…
I think that’s the point. NB didn’t learn anything lol. She’s stuck in this rut. The only way out if she acknowledges it herself that she needs & seek some sort of help?
btw he gets a pass for being just "flirty" when touching girls because he is handsome. if it was your neighborhood's…
NB didn’t reject his touches but that of course does NOT give PJE the right to touch her so easily since he does not know/familiar with her.
PJE is meant to be written like this (I’m not excusing his behavior btw). I didn’t read the webtoon but from seeing the comments about it, he suppose to come across as manipulative or a ‘ loose cannon’ when it comes to relationships. He’s not meant to be likable or good but since this is viewed from NB’s perspective, she falls quickly into his advances. NB herself doesn’t seem to have a grasp or views of romantic partners-relationship in terms of healthy ones. So to the viewers, this is rather alarming & unnerving. There may be something going on with her psychologically, other than being vulnerable & naive.

I’m assuming the drama will touch upon this.
