Kim Shi Ah was great as Young Ashin. For some reason, I didn’t cry watching 2 seasons of Kingdom but this one ep alone, I teared up. The crying scenes were very moving from both KSA and JJH’s performance, especially KSA.
For an 90min special, it did feel a bit uneventful lol. It doesn’t have the exhilaration nor momentum as the show. There were lots of panoramic wide shot/overpass in the show which made it appear very cinematic. Visually, this special ep. felt a tad flat, but not terrible just less immersive. The directing is not as tight/clean. The characters were also underutilized. I wished there were more interaction or a full out brawl between Ashin & Ai Da Gan. The writing/dialogue was okay. But overall I liked it.
I wanna see Ashin & Prince Chang duke it out in Kingdom S3.
WQ recently got accepted to Central Academy of Drama, one of the top acting university in China. Scored 1st for both the acting and directing majors. Congrats!
Saw the cast for her upcoming drama and I’m not really feeling it. NJH might prove me wrong but I have to see about that. And for Bo Na, I’m not familiar with her. KTR is a prolific-great actress so I would like so see her with a cast of her caliber like in her films.
How do I get past the first episode? Tried three times but couldn't finish it even once. And what's up with those…
I’m not a huge fan of close-up shots queue in the melo-drama songs in the background but since it’s through NB’s perspective, it is like lenses where the audience see what NB sees. Although it can be annoying if it’s over done repeatedly. It’s like I get it the first time lol anymore closeups we’ll see the hair in the noses lol.
jtbc has started promoting their September dramas already. What's going on with Flying butterflies anyway? I am…
That’s so odd? Like what? Lol. I’m not sure if it’s because of some ambiguity behind the drama JTBC doesn’t want the viewers to know about yet or? As of right now, shouldn’t there be at least a teaser or some new promotional pictures like the show’s poster lol. I like that they aren’t rushing the production but I do hope JTBC promotes the show well!
Doesn’t this air next month? JTBC should really start promoting this drama! They literally have Kim Hyang Gi as the lead who can act around circles above everyone else. Plus, Daniel Choi (.3.)! At least a teaser or something lol.
My biggest problem with this drama is that PJE is not seductive at all to the point his smooth actions make me…
It’s something I’ve said since episode 1. I’m not sure how PJE reads in the webtoon but Song Kang isn’t swoon-worthy acting material. His line delivery is stilted so PJE comes off rather dry and not charismatic at all lol.
Sorry but this girl doesn´t convince me, she only has empty pretty faces
Park Bo Young is a great actress, the strongest out of the cast but her mannerism tends to read the same in her drama series. She’s done 4 dramas that involves romantic modern fantasy elements, Oh My Ghostess, Strong Girl BS, Abyss, now DAYS. I hope she picks projects with more substance. Would love to see her in a crime or historical that’s more grounded & not romance.
It’s not a bad rating. 8.2 is actually very good & high. It’s not reaching a 9 but it’s is not a 3 lol.
There’s never been a show that I give a 10. 10 means it’s absolutely flawless. No show here is absolutely flawless. A 9 is a very strong rating. I believe there are plenty of them here but yes, even shows that I think are garbage do have rating in the 8.5-9 range that reads more like 3’s lol.
Which German TV show did you watch, and did you like it? I've seen a German mini-series, "World on a Wire", which…
You’re welcome.
It’s beautifully shot with stunning cinematography. The ost/music score is very good. The acting isn’t too bad either. It’s pretty gritty. I watched it last year. There’s 3 seasons. I put it on hold so I’m not quite done with it but I’m on the last season.
Overall, yes I liked it. It is an anxiety-inducing type of show. Because of its a mature audience rating, there are triggering parts. Very intricately plotted. The way it’s directed is quite ingenious. Very unique show with its setup. Haven’t watched anything like it before. It may seem slow but the build up is exciting & once you keep watching it, everything that happens starts to make sense. It has a large cast of characters so it’s important to keep note who is who lol.
I used to be a ‘romance drama’ watcher only in my younger years. But as you get older, the the variations in genre expands & from different countries too, your view of things broadens! Now most dramas I watch tend to be more on the crime/life/drama side. I pretty much avoid strictly-romantic dramas because they tend to bore me lol.
I only started watching c-drama 3 years ago & it open a whole new experience! Heck I even watched a tv show in German. Im trying to get back into J-dramas. The last shows I watched was Alice in Border Land & Erased! Visually good looking shows & story. Super entertaining. I know most j-dramas don’t have the budget on par with cdramas or kdramas but they have a lot of actually good stories. The execution is either a hit or miss but not entirely terrible although some can use some work lol. But the acting I do find it a bit jarring. With c-dramas, I tend to watch historical & periods ones. But I’m trying to get into the feel of watching modern ones too.
