Title Taxi Driver
I was afraid KDG was going to fall into the stereotypical stoic & edgy male character but he’s really funny lol & nice. He has a lot more personality than what I expect. So far I’m enjoying it. I like the cast of characters. Some parts are a bit over the top but hey, that’s kdrama land lol.

I love when KDG assumes multiple identity. He’s really working his way to get that theatre degree lol.

Haodu and Leyan had 1 hour 51 minutes in the same frame in the total series. Yes, fans counted. For second lead…
You should definitely try watching Longest Day in Chang An. I hate the villains but I also liked them lol because they’re complete a-holes but also engaging. The protagonists are definitely worth rooting for. The villains are definitely the kind you love to hate.

The music is AMAZING and the cinematography is topnotch with a high production value in terms of the set designs and costumes.

Agree. I don’t have to like a drama 100% wholeheartedly. Constructive criticism or critiques of the show is completely fine. Heck, people don’t really need any reasons to enjoy or not enjoy a show or the characters. They can simply like it or not.

I stopped watching TLB at ep 32 but I still like Chang Ge & A’sun, not just as much as the manhua.

Well they're second leads, the writers can't just make them vanish from the screen
That’s why I skip their scenes. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

There’s entire subplot written for those two. So yes, they did have a good amount of screen time for those characters.

There wasn’t anything lacking for GeSun. But since I like those two, I enjoy watching them.

I’m not fan of their characters. If you like them, alright cool. But I don’t lol.

GeSun is the core of the story for the drama as well. Hence the title "Chang ge Xing". But they chose to add extra…
I mean the drama is about GeSun but the side subplot, it’s get a bit muddled. I like the friendship between Chang Ge & Leyan but I don’t really care for the extra new characters. Especially Wei Shu Yu lol. I don’t know why there would be complaints about the drama being about the two main leads. GeSun are the two good things about the show.

The manhua barely had physical intimacy between A’sun & Chang Ge but it’s because of the situation they are placed in. They can’t just be all Willy Nilly with each other lol. It’s a point of their relationship. It’s still growing & they’ve only reached the point of really knowing & understanding each other. The manhua is politics heavy & A’sun & Chang Ge are really two independent people.

The drama had ALOT more romance between GeSun with the hand touching & holding, hugs, bed side moments, and offscreen kiss, lol etc. It’s fine to me if they don’t have a grand wedding or big gesture towards each other like Hao Du & Leyan. In the manhua, Hao Du was pretty much an inspector trying to find Chang Ge’s whereabouts and there was no Leyan or romance. I find those two such a snooze fest in the drama. As a huge GeSun fan, I’m a tad bitter that Hao Du & Leyan had so much screen time. The manhua is very GeSun centric. They are core of the story.

Chang Ge & A’sun were enemies from the beginning. They don’t know much about each other.Chang Ge is really…
It's definitely one of the major key points of the story since establishing merchant convoys and trade routes is important in keeping a stronghold and connections both on the central plains & grasslands. That part of the manhua is so awesome. It's a reason how Master Qin & her entourage was able to find/track Chang Ge when she went incognito lol.

A'sun is shown to be of Mongolian/Turkish heritage in the beginning of the manhua but he is actually Khitan, a non-Chinese ethnic group.

Another note in the manhua, Chang Ge and A’sun both undestand that they will have to fight on the battlefield as enemies, but they don’t hold any ill-will or spite towards each other. They both respect & care for each other a lot.

Also, there's alot of great dialogue & interactions exchanged between Chang ge & A'sun. Chang Ge & A'sun as characters have some of the best character development & story arc.

Chang Ge tells A’sun to do her ‘3 favors’ saying he’s not allowed to die & to live long.

Chang Ge say they both A’sun & her have great minds since they think alike.

Change Ge speaking to A’sun’s ghost lol. She thought he died.

A’sun becomes flustered when he is offer the opportunity to marry Chang Ge from Uncle Pusa. (This scene is so awesome)

Several things about & between the Chang Ge & A’sun that the drama omitted/not included if you want to know…
Chang Ge & A’sun were enemies from the beginning. They don’t know much about each other.

Chang Ge is really cunning & persuasive.

A’sun doesn’t read or write well in Chinese.

Chang Ge persuades A’sun to become his strategist who helps & saves him during the grasslands.

A'sun allows Change Ge to do as she pleases & gifts her things like a new tent, food, clothes etc for being a great strategist. She's not treated like a slave or captive.

A'dou is Change Ge trustee advisor and he does NOT die.

A’sun does not know that Chang Ge is a girl, he finds out by Master Qin.

A’sun choking on wine when Qin tells him that Chang Ge is a girl.

Chang Ge is sickly. She walked barefoot in the snow when she first met A’sun.

Chang Ge does know that she is of Uyghur heritage.

Mimi was Chang Ge’s wife lol.

A’sun calls Change Ge his “brother” & gives Change Ge her freedom.

A’sun figures out that he is Khitan, not Mongolain/Turk.

A'sun goes to find his origin of birth. His backstory in the manhua is but so heartbreaking.

Because Chang Ge assumes multiple identity, A’sun feels like he’s ‘tricked’ by her lol.

In the manhua, it’s more explicitly shown. Chang Ge doesn’t have a good relationship with both her parents. Her mother rarely acknowledges her. Her father doesn’t speak to her. Unlike the drama, the manhua doesn’t explain the why factor. Li Shimin goes off to war & Li Jin marries his brother. Her mother loved her as a baby but she becomes cold as Chang Ge gets older. Chang Ge has conflicts about herself when she thinks about her mom. Her mom was pretty much in a depressed state & I believe she was ill talked about by folks.

I only have eyes for Ah Sun and Li Jing. I do like Mujin in the manhwa though.
Mujin manhua is great. He’s so done with A’sun’s antics lol.
