Could you link me to the good translation of the later chapters? I got what I thought was a good one but there are times when my brain just can't figure out what they're trying to say.

Yes! Exactly! At a certain point I had no idea what was going on, and what the point of the story was, and that was after I'd decided to just follow Asule's story, and kind of skimmed the others - because I cannot emphasise how much I DID NOT CARE about Yu Ran and all her bullshit. No, really. I must commend the actress on portraying the most unlikeable female lead in nearly all the c-dramas (she's fighting for first place with Zhao Lusi in Love and Immortality) I've watched.
I mean, there were about 10 storylines, and none of them meant anything in the end. And what an ending! Yes, I absolutely wanted to see a CGI ferret type creature (weasel? dormouse?) scampering about in the springtime, rather than the fricking hero of the fricking show.

I only watched the series because of Liu Haoran, and all I can think of is that someone really tricked him regarding how much of the series was about him - is it just me or did he spend about a third of the show unconscious/in a coma / dead? This makes me especially sad because the tribal look was such a good look on him (yes, I'm shallow - no regrets), especially the hair.

Oh, and another thing (last one, I promise) - did you also think that the trailer was massively misleading? It actually implied (in my opinion) that there was going to be a big fight between the brothers, and they would gang up on Asule, but he would win out in the end, and then none of that ever happened, and we had our stupid non-ending.

I voted for Well-Intended Love and Goodbye My Princess, as they were the only ones on this list which I watched parts of until giving up (particularly W-IL, because of the twist which is horrendous).
However, my top choice isn't on the list, and it's Dance of the Phoenix. Now, I only watched it because of Wang Haoxuan (see userpic), and my boy did his best, even though he had the unenviable 2ML role while also being a kind of villain (more like Wen Kexing than Xue Yang). But the show - holy crap. At one point I was just sliding through the frames until I spotted m'boy, which was fairly easy as most of the time he was wearing dark blue.
This show has unchallenged racism, fat-shaming (whether a character is just fat, or whether it's because of a curse) and misogyny/rape apology, and the only reason there isn't homophobia is because the censorship authority don't like the gays.
When you think that literally the nicest character in the drama (besides the put-upon Mary Sue heroine) is your actual villainous 2ML, that's when you know a show has problems.

I just love that about this book - On tumblr I just reblogged an incredibly beautiful artwork (which is also a gifset) of Taxian Jun weeping over Chu Wanning's dead body in the Red Lotus Pavilion, and I'm just imagining answering questions about it.

The worst thing was, it seemed like they ran out of budget just at the end - Shot of the characters looking at the sky, shot of the sun, cut to black. And the audience is like WHA?
And it's not the only show that ends weird - like now you say this one has a similar ending, and Novoland Eagle Flag literally made me ANGRY. I'm still angry when I think about it.

I think what OP meant was "why aren't fans trying to make it trend", like by making posts, tagging it etc (I'm just going by what happens on twitter, no idea if wibo works on the same principles) and I don't think that's a good idea right now.

So, in a weird set of circumstances I signed up for tencent video (because I thought that's where the MDZS donghua would be - it's actually Tencent anime) so I'm a member till the end of this month. It just occurred to me that I could see the community posts - right now it's 231564 posts about You are my glory - and the latest one is "I'm #WeTV Brand Image, please pick a NAME for me!" under a pic of a weird looking albino penguin with an old antenna thing on its head.
I'm tempted to suggest WHERE'S HYX, HUH? DO I HAVE TO ACTUALLY BE IMMORTAL TO WATCH IT?

Because everytime there's been a bts twitter/weibo leak, there's been a storm of deliberate saboteurs putting a false narrative on them to make the actors/show look bad. There's people who really hate 2ha and will actively work for it to fail.

I got a WETV vip account because of the MDZS donghua (didn't want to wait), and there the subs are available straight away, I think. But yeah, I'm literally paying for it.

oh no! I stopped watching The Untamed on Viki when I realised they were translating all the titles, and sometimes translating them wrong or weird; like, I'm fine with Zewu Jun, I don't need to read the word salad you make out of it, dude.

The synopsis spoiling me hasn't really happened to me yet - in fact the opposite: like in Novoland Eagle Flag, the synopsis makes a big deal of the ML having to be a hostage bridegroom to a Tang Princess, and I thought that was going to be the main point of the story. It isn't. It's like, one of about 15 different story strands, all ultimately pointless.

I was reading downthread about when trailers are usually released for this kind of drama, and something came to mind: do Chinese audiences not mind spoilers in trailers? Or in opening/closing credits?
I mean, I wanted to recommend The Untamed to one of my colleagues and I watched the official trailer to send them a link and I was like NO. Because it literally spoils the main villain.
The same for Princess Weiyoung: not only are the opening/closing credits massive spoilers, but if you watch it on youtube, the thumbnails to all the videos are spoilers. Same for Word of Honor - the thumbnail to episode 35 is a huge spoiler for a pretty horrendous event.

Good question - I was going through a book outline to remind myself of key events in the event that we might not be clowned again this month - and the first mind-f*ck was that I'd forgotten all about Chu Wanning's actual origin, seriously, it was gone from my brain - and there is SO MUCH that will have to be cut. I'm not talking about the stuff that will have to be censored, I mean all the crazy and twisty-turny plot stuff, mostly in Book 3, that I don't how how a screenplay writer will deal with, except with scissors.
Not saying that it's not all gripping to read, I'm saying that it won't work on the screen.
So, yeah - who knows. There's only one on the cast list here, but as this is all by fan contributions, that's not saying much.

This is kind of my opinion too - this kind of series is massively expensive, and if they’ve already got ads filmed their sponsors will want those ads to air and soon. Also those ads really work - Darren Chen brainwashed me into buying an eye cream in Chenghua Shisi Nian.

What I don’t understand is why 10cent would want to ruin Immortality’s chances - surely this would damage their investment?
