Gong Huanyu (the Young Lord that died with the Sword Wielder) and Gong Ziyu have the same father. The dead Sword Wielder, Huanyu, and Ziyu are from the Yu lineage.
Gong Shangjue and his dead younger brother are from the Jue lineage. They haven't shown his father, just his mother Lady Ling in flashbacks.
Gong Yuanzhi is from the Zhi lineage. His father died and not sure what happened to his mom. He was "adopted" by Shangjue to be his brother and Shangjue promised to protect him.
Gong Zishang is from the Shang lineage. It appears that her father is still alive and I don't know why they haven't shown him. But it's indicated he is alive because she mentions he is waiting for her little brother to grow up and take over as lineage head. Her mother is dead so her younger brother is her half brother.
Tian Jia Rui needs to be in a horror movie. His maniacal grins when he drops poisons are super scary! That whole scene where he was mixing up the stuff for the poison fog and him grinning throughout gave me shivers. Excellent acting!

He passed them. The Elders picked him as the Young Lord because he was a better fit. We don't know for sure why Shangjue was not as good as a pick, but I read a comment that it could be because he has such hatred for Wufeng due to his mom and brother being killed by them and could possibly make the Gong family take revenge instead of staying out of the way and protecting the family from within.
An earlier episode showed GYZ nurturing a blue glowing flower. Could it be the flower they mentioned today about being able to resurrect dead people?
1. Is GYZ hoping to resurrect GSJ's dead brother? Not sure what the time limit is on when you can bring someone back. 2. Why would this be used on Housekeeper Jia's son? GYZ also looked like there was something he wanted to say/discuss about it but held off from discussing with GSJ.
