Title True to Love Spoiler
The downfall of the female lead is too real cause that’s really how cancel culture is in real life. The event that leads to the cancelling, the way people switched on her, the vile comments, the apology letter. I’m loving this so far.

Just spent 4 hours binging the 4 episodes that are out now cause of a clip I saw on YouTube of when he carried her when she fell.

I’m intrigued to see how this goes

Title Not Me
This is one of the few unique Thai BLs I’ve watched. It was like a normal action thriller series that’ll normally have a straight couple but was with a gay romance instead. While it focused mainly on other social commentaries but this one was notable for me in that it actually talked about and fought for LGBTQ+ rights. I think that’s cool. The romance in this was very well written, not as toxic or cringy as a lot of the ones in other BLs

I don’t know how many times I’ve listened to “Why don’t you stay” by Jeff Satur 😭 his voice is phenomenal

Title KinnPorsche Spoiler
That was fun despite all the issues

So Kinn and Porsche met and Kinn is kinda manipulated into accepting Porsche as his bodyguard. It was obvious early on that Kinn was attracted to Porsche but there was barely any signs of Porsche being attracted to Kinn. Then we had the dreaded first time scene that was basically rape (thought we were over this in BL tbh). I think that scene would have been better if they had shown Porsche clearly lusting after Kinn prior to that but nothing, that’s why it felt so icky.

That basically summarized Kinn and Porsche’s relationship, mostly sex and not much substance. Sure they had the sizzling chemistry and they had that one bonding scene in the forest but that’s about it.

KimPorchay. Barcode really impressed me with his acting, he really sold that role. Jeff on the other hand… I won’t say much. But I’m still looking forward to what’ll come out of it. They might be my faves.

VegasPete. Chemistry was there but again the start to their relationship is icky.

Just wanna say I love Tankhun and all his antics 😂 the actor is impressive.

Also the action scenes were great

Overall it’s like one of those gay romance novels I like to read, a little emotional connection here and there and all the sex. I knew what to expect from all the hype so I wasn’t really surprised or disappointed.

Title Lie after Lie Spoiler
A very good makjang-lite from Lee yuri, she always delivers. The child actress impressed me in this but I’m…
Some nitpickings:
The police is this show reached a record breaking level of incompetence. Why are the police calling the main lead first before they’ll investigate any new lead. The MC will stay in front while they check out said lead and they’ll share all information with him… he’s a journalist that’s in no way associated with the police. They even had him questioning the suspects (not talking of the one where the suspect asks of him). I know it was just a plot device by the writers but it’s still nonsensical.

All the characters kept too much secrets for my liking

The second half was very slow. There’s only so many times I can watch the female lead and the villain have the same conversation that lead to the same ending. It just kept repeating towards the end that I had to fast forward some things which I don’t usually do.

I wish they explained more on the villains’ motivations. Like why was she hiding her son in the first place

So many things but I still liked the show regardless. A good 8.5 stars

A very good makjang-lite from Lee yuri, she always delivers. The child actress impressed me in this but I’m not surprised cause it’s just as if Korea has a special academy they send these children to.

There was good chemistry all round. The mother-daughter, father-daughter, even the main leads had more chemistry than I expected. Of course there were things that annoyed me but overall it was a good series.

Never expected to like this one this much. Ohm and Singto really did wonderfully in this, I was especially impressed with Ohm, I saw a new side to his acting abilities.

The side characters were also really good and lovely. In most of these shows, the side characters are one-dimensional and very annoying. But with this one, they were like actual human beings, even the ones you didn’t like. Loved Kheiwkhem, Prince, Praifah, Kwan. They were fun to watch.

This is the only Thai BL I’ve personally watched where they had a full-blown coming out, and it was actually treated with care and was very well acted. Granted I’ve not watched a lot of the more recent shows.

I love this show, some of the explanation for the supernatural parts were funny ngl but I’ll look past it.

Title Link: Eat, Love, Kill Spoiler
My issues with the showThe motivation of the killers were ambiguous. I wish they would have explained it some…
So are you thinking it was just because they didn’t wanna be too explicit (probably having to increase the viewer rating to 19+) so they just assumed we would understand?
I was thinking pedophilia also cause they didn’t seem like they really just wanted to kill the girls cause they enjoy killing. Seemed like they didn’t enjoy killing all that much.

I just wish they clarified these things a bit. I still love the show though

Title Little Women
It had some makjang level of coincidence and unbelievable scenarios at times but it was really enjoyable and kept me at the edge of my seat all throughout. The acting was the best part, as well as the cinematography, the writing could be improved.
On Anna Sep 1, 2022
Title Anna
Bae Suji’s best drama and acting yet

It was like an extended movie in the way it followed her life from beginning to the end. Although you can’t completely relate with Yumi at every step of the way, you can see how she made the decisions she made, how her mind works. She’s not a morally just person but you might see some way you can relate to her even if just a little and that’s what I loved about it.

There was one saying in the series about how if you grew up hearing you’re smart all your life, being exposed to failure that makes you see you’re not as smart as you think might be too difficult for you to handle. That’s my take on the saying but that’s the part I really relate to. This can cause you to lie to others and even to yourself to cover up your failures. Of course Yumi took it to an extreme cause she also had a lot of greed but I loved it all the same.

It was fun watching how Lee Yumi became Lee Anna 👍🏾
On Romance Is a Bonus Book Aug 20, 2022
The acting was good… that’s what this show has going for it. Everyone did a good job with the material given, especially Lee Na Young. Dan I’s story was inspiring to watch. A career woman to mom and then trying to get back to a career, seeing her being happy for just getting a job and even doing all the menial tasks was inspiring. I liked that part.

The romance part though… Because of how much time was spent with the FL seeing him as just a brother I could never buy into the romance when it started and how she was able to just switch like that. The romantic chemistry was not there for me. I could only see them as brother and sister or friends.

Second female lead was cute in this, I’ve always noticed her in all her other shows but she really stood out for me in this one. Most of the other side characters were okay

Basically the show was just okay. Nothing about the it was that outstanding. It was just okay

I’ve watched two back to back series from Moon ga young and I must say she good at selling the characters; through…
My issues with the show

The motivation of the killers were ambiguous. I wish they would have explained it some more, how gyeyoung died, why she was chosen, so we could have some closure considering we’ve been immersed in “what happened to Gyeyoung? From the beginning of the show

What later happened with Bokhee and the murder she committed, I wish they wouldn’t have left it that open

I needed a huge emotional reconciliation between Ji won tak and his father, all we got was silent acceptance 😕

I’ve watched two back to back series from Moon ga young and I must say she good at selling the characters; through the characters were very similar so I’ll need to watch more from her preferably in another genre but she’s slowly climbing up my list. And Yeo Jin Goo is great as always, they just fit well with each other

The story was intriguing and entertaining enough though there were some things that left me unsatisfied. But it was a good show overall. I think I’ll wanna rematch it by skipping to only the scenes with the leads

A high class makjang… that’s what this isOne thing about makjangs is that it’s difficult to stop watching…
Now onto the main thing.

SPOILERS!

Tbh when I first read the synopsis, I thought she was gonna divorce the man and that’s her revenge. I didn’t expect this so that’s a plus I guess. The makings of a makjang was there and it was by all means a successful makjang. Just not one I love very much.

The FL kept getting her way and manipulating people like it was such as exact science 😂 The ML sees her and is in instant lust which I thought they were gonna name it exactly what it was. But for some reason they said it was love 🤔 how did that happen. Yeah we see how Chairman Kang could be attracted to La El cause of all her seduction but we don’t see how that transforms into love both for him and her. The most baffling part is that the FL was supposedly in love with him too 😳when did that happen. I could accept having some feelings due to the fact that she hasn’t experienced romance before and they felt like they were similar people but to say they just fell for each other like that??? The actual love part of it felt rushed and forced cause all we were seeing up until then was just lust on the ML’s part and empathy on the FL’s part. The constant lost look in the ML’s eyes didn’t help either.

And it’s the same with Seo Eun Pyung, sure he was concerned about her from childhood but we’re not given any indication of how that concern transforms into romantic love, just all of a sudden he tells her that he loves her no matter what I’m confused.

The whole thing was just fun to watch despite all these unexplained things. At least the actual revenge was successful and most of the Villians paid for what they did to her so there’s that I guess

Also shoutout to Han so ra for being one of the craziest villains. It was just funny and pitiful watching her.

A high class makjang… that’s what this is

One thing about makjangs is that it’s difficult to stop watching one. Like a car crash about to happen, once you start a makjang it’s difficult to just stop it. Especially one as crazy as this. The constant battles, the unbelievably evil people, the loud and intense music, the unexplained happenings, that’s the fun in makjangs and this was fun also… if you know what to expect

This was fun and cute. The leads had good chemistry that kept building up. Although the story had a lot of cliches that you’ll see in older kdramas, it was better that I expected (I almost dropped it at the 2nd ep cause of the cliches that were eye rolling), I’m glad I kept watching. I didn’t like the second leads as much as a lot of other people tho.

The plot point in the last 2 eps with the grandfather was out of nowhere and contrary to what we know of him in the previous episodes. I guess they just went with that to create some drama but it was handled alright I think.

I never expected Kim Sejeong to be this good, I’ve made a new discovery now 😀

Title Find Me in Your Memory Spoiler
Netflix just recommended this to me out of nowhere so here I am already 4/16 episodes in
And I loved it a lot. It had a natural progression of the plot. I loved Yeo Ha Jin and Lee Jong Hoon a lot thought i thought Ha Jin’s insistence in the beginning was bordering on annoying, she was very cute. If it was the male character doing all that I know for sure I would have gotten annoyed quicker.

At first I worried about the age difference and that the romance might be awkward especially since Moon ga young was still so young when this aired but they actually fit well together. Loved their chemistry

I should be used to it by now but the incompetence of the doctors and police in dramas (when they’re not the main characters) still annoy me very much 🤦🏾‍♀️

Hmmm. Well just cause something is fictional doesn’t mean we’re not allowed to criticize it. Infact it’s fiction we’re even supposed to criticize as opposed to criticizing something that’s real. I don’t know about you but I’ll continue to reserve my right to criticize parts in fiction I don’t find reasonable, thank you very much.
