Each to their own, the first four episodes are enjoyable, its lighthearted and fun. Im not a fan of the styling of Hong Ning but I am enjoying Hu Yi Xuan's acting and the 🔥 chemistry between the leads. Liu Xue Yi is great as always, will continue watching for now :)

Opps sorry I was answering the question but for Wei Shao! Wei Yan is even more ruthless imo but thats cause of his upbringing, he left due to the circumstances like Bunnie mentioned and some other stuffs but he genuinely does not want to hurt those he loves, he likes Xiao Qiao but never did anything inappropriate. I don't think he is bad just a sad character. He ends up alone.

I don't know either been checking nonstop, its just rumor that it will air today, but the drama director says it should air in the last 10 days of April so I have hope

Wei Shao and Xiao Qiao only have eyes for each other, Lady Yu Lou is ML's childhood sweetheart that likes him but more for his power, Wei Yan is ML's cousin and likes Xiao Qiao, and pretty much all guys who saw Xiao Qiao desires her for her beauty so there are other male characters along the way.

I didn’t read the English version. Wei Shao is very cold/distant towards Man Man initially, didn’t want to see her so send her away right after marriage though he is protective, always there to rescue her when she is in trouble. There are misunderstandings but they get resolved fairly quickly because Man Man is smart and knows how to explain herself. The parts I didn’t like are actually the bed scenes, didn’t ask for permission and it was fueled by jealousy though Man Man didn’t resist because she wanted to be a proper wife to pay off her family debt, just he is rough which hurts her but he does apologize and learns to treat her better. These scenes are probably going to be changed. Other than that, Wei Shao only has his eyes for Man Man and is very cruel towards all other females so hopefully they don’t change that to give the other characters more scenes. Man Man took longer to fall in love with Wei Shao but she doesn’t have eyes for anyone else.

Just completed the novel and now the drama airing date is getting closer, so excited :D the title "Prisoner of Beauty" really suits it, 36 eps should be enough to cover majority of the plot, pretty sure all the bed scenes will be cut LOL but I am curious how they are gonna adapt this considering how toxic Wei Shao is at the beginning of the marriage. Also have to say the casting is on point, Song Zu Er is perfect as Man Man

don't think I have laughed this much ever in a c-drama, my daily dose of laughter rn, can't wait for the new episodes. Both main leads are great but TJC is nailing both the sad and the comedic moments, the expressions he made every time he questions his sanity just had me dying 😂😂😂

I don't like how they tried to redeem LYN's non-biological father at the end of ep 29, after what he said/did in episode 28 about wanting LYN to die because of his reputation I have no respect for this man

I had high expectations for this drama because of LXY and WJY and they did not disappoint in terms of acting and chemistry. Though I hope the plot will pick up soon. I enjoyed the moments between the main leads in eps 6&7 but in terms of storyline it feels a little too simple/predictable, the investigation/mystery is not as interesting as I was hoping for.

Deng Enxi's crying scene is so heartbreaking but also so prettyyyy 🥹

This is the only drama that I am keeping up daily now and it is still fun to watch up until this point! I am glad that the relationship finally entering a stable stage after the confession, both ML and FL communicate/trusting each other more. I am always a tad late because I only watch up to the episodes that have good subs but imo its probably best if viewers watched for themselves and decide rather than based on the comments here. I watched ep 26 and didn't see anything wrong with the plot nor the characters. Is it the scene of the FL going to the brothel with PC for investigation? What about in the early episodes ML let the SFL stay in his mansion and acts like the madam of the house for the sake of investigation but didn't let FL knows his intention until later. Not comparing whose action is worst or if it is justified to do that for the sake of investigating, but this is just usual drama plot. Just my two cents cause there is so much hate for the FL character ;(

So the comments kinda prepared me for the last few episodes LOL FL was a bit annoying in ep 15 but it is tolerable. The main leads are very intelligent in solving cases but not so much when it comes to relationship. ML is petty and always resorts to yelling/grabbing wrist while FL is reckless and hotheaded when it comes to investigating. Both characters are flawed but again no one is perfect. Right now they lack communication/trust so misunderstandings arise. But seeing how things resolved quickly, I am keeping up to see how the characters will eventually learn and grow. The chemistry is there and I am enjoying the investigation part more than the romance at this point :)

I am late to the party but seriously don't know why they added the section between LMT and Ziyu at the night market in ep 24, if it is to highlight CXZ's jealousy it was unnecessary. It just doesn't add up with the indifference that LMT been showing to Ziyu.
