I don't think there's any love triangle. I think that the relationship between the two leads are quite realistic. Their doubts and worries are more down to earth than any other dramas. I think that if you like slice of life drama, then you would love the story. I personally really love it
To present a counter point to many of the comments here, I understand why the female lead seems selfish - what…
I think that Xu Fang is themost negative male lead ever in the drama. He is always lacking confident and continue to not believing in himself, which is a very realistic trait of a boy in his age, in my opinion. I love cocky, arrogant and full of confidence male lead, but they're overused that watching Xu Fang is so refreshing
At first, I don't really understand why everyone is having a problem with the second season. Surely it's not going that bad. With a low expectation, I go and watch this new season
Apparently, it's that bad
It's not about the change in cast. But it's a change in personality that I have problems about. It's like all characters suddenly have a mass personality transplant, because I no longer recognise them anymore. And I see many comments below about the attitude Ning Que show in the 2nd season is just like the novel. I actually bother to read them and I don't see that much change from Ning Que in season 1 and Ning Que in novel. He's still the same Ning Que, while battered with scars and almost lost Sang Sang, he didn't suddenly become broody or wooden. And no, I don't see being broody as being mature, which the Ning Que actor show a lot in this season
I almost couldn't stand watching this drama when so many important characters are changed, both in actors and in personality, and some died. It's like losing my footing over this drama. By the end of the drama, I'm ready to just give up on season 3. I don't think I could endure it, if season 3 has the same quality as season 2. It's going to kill me
Score overall: 5.5/10 I give 5.5 for all the supporting characters that somehow carry the burden of this show more than its main cast
I'm at ep 10 now and am gritting my teeth watching the male lead's acting. This might be unpopular opinion, but…
I actually think he owns Ning Que to the point that seeing someone else playing as Ning Que is weird. He's Ning Que, with all his awkwardness and the passion to be better
I think it's an intentional choice to make him awkward in the beginning as you can see that he really improves a lot in the later half
He was 17 when he acted in this drama, and I think he's one of the best in his age group
Hello thanks a lot for the link :0). I right away looked it up, and on second thought, not sure I'll start to…
I usually read yaoi manga though. If you like them I can direct you to where you can read them :) For novel, the last BL novel I read is The Reader and Protagonist Definitely have to be In Love
My personal opinion: Xiao Yuer love his brother more than any of the girls he ever met lol I mean, he has more chemistry with Hua Wuquan and care for him more like a dutiful wife (or husband). And he's so happy when he knew that they're brothers lol
FYI the main lead actors are not close in age as you thought. At the moment of the airing time, Xiao Zhan was…
I think that I have the rights to express my opinion though. That's why it's an opinion. I didn't make judgement. It might be my personal preferences and I did say that above
Why I feel like you're antagonizing me just because I don't have the same opinion as you? We can have a different opinion
And like I said, many times. I like the drama. Just that several parts of the drama, to me, shows the lack of acting experience. But I never said it was bad
Nothing saved Guardian from becoming a total Disaster (apologies to those who like it). Even less the two actors…
Even some of the young actors in Korean drama are also average. The only young actors that I like recently is Nam Da Reum, and that's because he has amazing acting ability, where he could tell us he's sad just by a look. I've watched a lot of them to know that. And I don't compare China and Korea. After all, I've been out of touch of Korean Dramas for far too long to make any judgement
Guardian have two male leads with really good acting. In my opinion, they make the drama interesting. I didn't watch the drama for the plot, but I watched it for them
And I see many young actors who acted really well actually in Chinese dramas. Of course they will need to learn more. After all, they would be the pillar of the Chinese television industry in the future. Just that in the Untamed, while actually very well acted by the actors, there are some parts where I really want to connect with the story, I want to feel sad, but I couldn't. They look sad, the mood is really sad, and the angle is telling me that I should be sad, but I couldn't. It might be due to personal taste, but I just want something more from them. My friend recommend this drama strongly to me so I expected something more (which I didn't get). If I watched it without any recommendation, I might be fine with it
FYI the main lead actors are not close in age as you thought. At the moment of the airing time, Xiao Zhan was…
Like I said, I think they have an amazing chemistry overall. But not to the level where I believe that they're lovers. I know it's censorship and all but I just wish that there's something more, something that make you feel they would die for each other
Oh, I thought they were around the same age. Like 24-25. I didn't know Wang Yi Bo was that young
I think I can understand why this drama is so well received and well loved. Good looking main leads, good plot (at least there's no really big jarring moment when I watched them). The chemistry is also excellent, though I wish they showed more because it looks more platonic and friendship to me than anything else (or maybe I'm just that spoiled with Guardian, because even though story/plot-wise that drama failed big time, but the acting saved it from becoming a disaster). Though I guess I asked too much from young actors that have little experience like Wang Yi Bo and Xiao Zhan. Though I agree that they both have good chemistry (maybe due to them being closer in age) and I think they could be a good friend
I do enjoy watching the drama. It has some moment that's very intriguing to me, but then the lack of the acting capability in some parts make me don't feel what I should feel. I know I should feel sad near the end of the drama, but I kind of just watching it passively because their acting didn't convince me to THAT level yet. Though I'm sure both can still grow with time
All in all, I would give it 8 points overall. I enjoyed them thoroughly, but I wish there's a sizzling chemistry that make me believe they would die for each other
Hello thanks a lot for the link :0). I right away looked it up, and on second thought, not sure I'll start to…
I think that both actors really portrayed the feeling of the book, especially the actor who played Shen Wei. He's like Shen Wei in the novel to a T :D Bai Yu is a good actor. He manage to convey the flirtatious Zhou Yunlan perfectly to me. I feel like I'm seeing Bai Yu whenever I read Zhou Yunlan being shameless lol And yes, I did finish the whole novel :) It's a very good one. I really really love it. It's rare for me to like a BL novel this much (not after the protagonist) because they usually have this weird dom/sub relationship (though subtle)

It's not actually that intense. There's no actual act of the love making. It's more mild. I think the most they do is kissing But the relationship dynamic is really fun and you'll be hooked for sure. Definitely just like the drama (and even better because they could show their romantic side)
People compare The Untamed and Guardian and here I am like in love with both of them! But Guardian has a very…
I think that The Untamed is more bromance-y, like the two leads have chemistry but it's more friendship and platonic. I feel like they force me to feel that something more happens between the leads, but their acting couldn't convey that (i could undestand as both are still young and maybe not have many experience in acting itself) Guardian to me is more special, because despite the bad story line, the two main actors truly brought the characters in the novel alive. They could convey love and adoration with just a glance, which is a serious talent in itself. And the way they portray the character is so close to the novel, which is a plus to me
That is the show itself. It does it on a few occasions. Like when brother black gave life back to that teacher…
Because the untamed is much easier to adapt to the television series. Guardian is based on supernatural, ghost, and daoism, which is banned as well in China. The story about Gelan and Sang Za actually much darker in the novel. But it couldn't be shown because the daosim is not aligned with the current teaching of the president (or so I heard from my dad)
Apparently, it's that bad

Besides from that, this drama is so good that it hurts

I'm used to read very very wild ones, so Guardiannis very tame for me :)
But the relationship dynamic is really fun and you'll be hooked for sure. Definitely just like the drama (and even better because they could show their romantic side)
