The drama writer forgot the plot... then she remembered she had to follow the book, and after 20ish episodes,…
This is what I complained as well to my friend. I feel like our FL and the writer forgot the main purpose of her getting close to him in the beginning, not just for the interview but for the revenge. In the novel, she did remind herself about this many times throughout the entire story so we never forgot this fact. She continues to play this act until she got exposed.

In the book, Shi Yan think about it and come into the conclusion himself. He got the final confirmation from his niece, Qin Shiyue, who knows more about the story of Shu Yi chasing the cheater's uncle's ex for revenge. He finally understand why she did what she did, and got angry at her. He did block her in Weixin as well.

if you're going to attack a drama, at least watch it first. the ML had a girlfriend before he met the FL.
Sometimes people forgot that discussion is about two opposing views, talking about what they like and don't like, and do them in the most rational way. People nowadays easy to say: If you don't think the way I think, then it's utterly bullshit.

Having discussion is good, means that we could learn from each other. Rather than just attacking others for being "blind" or "not able to see things" etc. I experienced this many times with people who are angry I didn't like the show they watched. I mean, I pointed out the flaw, and they said to me: "Then go read the novel you can understand the FL better!" Why do I need the advice to read the novel when I'm discussing about the drama? That was crazy.

What did the OP say?

Somehow I feel like these people so amazing as they can see what we can't see. Like, they can see the future or something. Or they can see alternate dimensions.

There are lots of answers below with differing opinions. I hope you saw the Ep where her mother won’t believe…
I agree with this. As someone who is raised in Chinese family, I can understand her mother. My parents are like that too in the past, though now they had given up. But they will throw me, in any chance, to any man available. They will sing praises for the man, and when that man turned out to be a scum, they will shut up for a while before starting with a new one. Me being over 30 and not married yet considered to be the biggest crime ever.

And I agree with what you said as well. Her mom didn't believe her because if she didn't see the boyfriend with her own eyes, and the boyfriend is not introduced to the parents, there's no boyfriend at all. The mentality of the Asian parents.

A more in depth look of today’s episode before the tree climbing….will all be forgiven? https://x.com/afterrnoont/status/1726499368499650930?s=46&t=zqI38SPvJuccjplZiNI69Q
I would not forgive her if I'm Shi Yan. This is becoming ridiculous. By now, I wish they just use the novel material because it's much more subdued and better in terms of their reconciliation. I'm still holding on because it's almost the end.

SY: ^i never said i wanted to break off with her^Me: 😱 And you blocking her from your Wechat.... is forrrr?https://x.com/yawyonlyforlove/status/1726507203920822703?s=20
It's like anger response? Though in the novel, he did unblock her soon, but she ended up deleting him from her contact. In the end, it's also him who asked her to add him back. So it was more like an impulse to him rather than wanting to truly break up with her.

Is there a rule in cdramas that lead characters cannot be immature? In fact, that's one thing that intrigued me…
The problem is that, many of the novels still follow this type of structure. It's like, the naive FL will met the cold-hearted ML. It's like their formula. It's not so easy to find female lead that's not immature or naive.

Nah I don't think so. We don't get that often nowadays, unless it's very successful I guess.

Her using Shi Yan to get the online magazine upgrade going was already a sticky point between them. Has she forgotten…
This is the point where I almost gave up really. I watched this show because it's my happy pill. But now it drags on endlessly. I just wanted this to finish >.>

Dang, they robbed us of that???

The novel version is much.... weirder than the drama. Especially the business part. I also prefer the drama more than the novel, because the novel is your usual tropey BG drama. Nothing else. I've read it until the end and I did like it, but not love it. It was okay, but too many things happening and it's not as good as the drama, in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of GJ though but im kinda afraid to start this... But saw al this +ve comment here make me wanna…
I was not a fan of his acting as well. He started out okay, then go downhill after that. Word of Honour was a saviour, in which he showed different range of his acting. Then it went nowhere. But in here, he's really really good. His eyes speaks volume.

I did say it to my friend: He just needs someone he's comfortable with, in terms of his co-star, so he can act out fully. And he found that person in this drama.

Ohh someone actually got this! I was so baffled at this as well and though it was so unrealistic. But again, it's available only in dramaland.

Title Rising with the Wind Spoiler
Ep39
We started the episode after Xu Si drunk and sleeping at Teng Yue's rooftop. Then it's the aftermath of Zhaoyang and Yang Jian's passionate night. Awww, them holding hands looking happy together is relationship goal!

Now that makes sense. Zhaoyang had always loved Yang Jian. But it's not easy to like someone whose dad had been abusing her physically for years. That's why she channeled all her feelings towards Gao Yi, after thinking he's her saviour. It also solved the problem about how she changed her feelings so suddenly. In the end, the good feelings she had for years for Yang Jian just erupted at that time and she chose to go with her heart, forgetting the past. Good move, Zhaoyang! I mean, who wouldn't love Yang Jian?

Zhaoyang to Yang Jian: "You're the brightest light in my life."
Good closure for this couple!

Mr. Du gives me bad vibes. I don't like the way he talked. Ohh, Xu Si dropped the bomb! So he used his own money to buy back all the shares of Teng Yue? Man, that's crazy. 51% of shares! Ohhh so it's not Xu Si who spread the word? But it's Mr. Du? I knew it! Mr. Du the creeps. He will do everything to get the shares he wanted. Yeah, that's more like it. Business espionage. So they're trying to put all the blame to Xu Si if something bad happened?

True, that kind of news would be very good. Acquiring the 100-year brand with history will always be the highlight. That's really good of Xu Si. He's really capable in doing his job. He's not just making trouble but create solution as well. That showed his skill, his capability, and also his understanding of the market. At least someone did market research!

Lmaooo that exit was so funny to me. And Xu Si actually borrow money to buy the shares? Hahaha. Here I thought he's that rich. Now that makes much more sense!

I like what Xu Si's mother said. Every generation has their own business jargon. That could be true. For me who almost reached 40, my understanding of corporation and working culture or ethic will be different from the young people in their 20s. This is the best solution that Xu Si and his mom could get. I love this conclusion! At least it's not so sudden. Xu Si learned it the hard way.

Well, I guess all one need is just apology letter, and business problems are fixed. We don't even need risk management team for PR. Oh wait, they don't even need PR with genius Jiang Hu. She did everything, from plotting to the PR and risk management. She's the best employee that any company can have!

I still don't see any significant improvement from the pacing. Though it tied a lot of loose ends, but it felt so unnecessarily long. Maybe it's just me, but I felt that it could be shorter. Making it to 40 felt so unnecessary.

EP40
So the going round the factory is about them finally realizing they need to move along with the modern time? Okay, I guess that's what you need to do.

I still don't understand why Jiang Hu could be so fashionable working at Cloud Footwear but not at Teng Yue. It's not like she did labour work in Teng Yue, she mostly just sit around anyway. This is one glaring plot hole for me that I don't think I would get an explanation for.

Oh? Teng Yue moving to another place? It felt weird seeing the place so empty though. Oh wow, I didn't expect them to take down the place though. That felt so realistic somehow.

I wish they make it clear how long it has been. Like what? 3 years? 3 months?

Of course they have to meet like this. It would be not dramatic otherwise. I felt like Xu Si is the one suffering the most from this relationship. He can't move on. I think now I understand why he did what he did in the preview. If not, he really can't go on in the future. That kiss felt like all of his pent-up emotion, whether it's the love he had for Jiang Hu, missing her, and still wanting to be with her. And Jiang Hu, OMG, the way she hold onto him showed that she also loved him so much. I take back what I said. Both suffered from this. No one is better than the other. I cried along with Jiang Hu during the kiss scene. It felt so painful because this might be the last chance of them to ever meet.

AND OF COURSE IT'S JUST A FAKE OUT. DAMN IT DRAMA.

OMG both of them had this heartbroken expression on their face. It's just too much. I can't stop crying now. Drama, you're not supposed to make me this emotional! How the hell these two can speak with their eyes only? That's amazing. I never thought Gongjun could be this good in acting! Their pain and longing for each other can be felt just by looking at their eyes. Prop to the director for taking that shot! Or maybe he saw that they're so good at this he decided to take that shot? Who cares! It's so good! Give me more!

GRAB HER XU SI! JIANG HU, STOP! DON'T WALK AWAY!
YOU GUYS, WHY YOU MAKE ME CRY T____T

This is especially hurtful when the song lyrics mentioning about being wrong, admitting for being wrong, asking for one more chance. Why you must break my heart like this T___T

Urgghh now she's back with the curly hair. I don't understand the timeline of this drama. Ohh, she saw the red car! Who you think visiting you? Xu Si? Yes, the disappointment on her face hit me the most. She must have wanted it to be Xu Si.

Isn't that the same place where he first follow Jiang Hu in episode 1? Oh yeah, it is! It's like he's ready to go away and not coming back. Oh wait, so this is before the episode where the secretary met Jiang Hu??? The timeline for the past 6 episodes felt so weird.

Wait, Jiang Hu, you don't even know the news in your own country? In your own industry? I mean, the headline Aneda acquiring the other 100-year brand shoes should have been eye-catching though. If there's no news about Teng Yue being sold to Aneda, I'm sure you can deduce that by yourself, without anyone telling you, that the selling never happen?

That's true. Xu Si will not use this as the bargaining chip. He's not that low yet. After all, Jiang Hu had said that Teng Yue more important to her than anything else. The last question from Xu Si about choosing between Teng Yue and him should be about this.

Teng Yue's legacy should be hers, but in the end it was Xu Si who worked hard to revitalize the company and be a responsible owner until the end. People might say bad things about him, but I think this showed his deep feelings towards Jiang Hu. He didn't care about Teng Yue, but he knew that Jiang Hu loves Teng Yue, so he did his best to improve the company.

Xu Si taking care of the plant carefully because it's the same one he shared with Jiang Hu. Now, I'm crying even more. Finally, Jiang Hu knew that Xu Si is gone. She's already too late. Xu Si has a trauma with dog, and in the end he decided to keep the dog because of Jiang Hu. If this didn't show his love to her, I don't know what else can prove it.

The aunt said it the best! There's no business without some sacrifice and need to know what to give up. All this flashback making me teared up. Jiang Hu finally realizing that Teng Yue was not everything. She need to learn to give up some of the things. Ahhh, so that's where Xu Si keep the shoes!

So Jiang Hu is back to Teng Yue? What? I'm so confused.

Oh Xu Si is back! His kid? The dog? Lol the dog go to school? So this confirms that Jiang Hu is back to Teng Yue as the management.

Lol the blind date is for the mom. Hahahahaha They got me this time.

The company looks very good. They were so unhappy with the change to Teng Yue, but in the end, isn't it all good? Look, the company is thriving.

Oh, Jiang Hu using the shoes! I think she's been using them all the time. IS THAT THE SON??? The dog so cute. I think that their meeting is kinda abrupt. It felt like some parts got cut or something. Really Xu Si? Calling her? When you're right in front of her?

The same questions, the same answer. But between him and Teng Yue, finally she choose him! Rather than him truly asking her to choose, it's more like an expression? Like, is there nothing else that's more important to her than Teng Yue?

Ep39We started the episode after Xu Si drunk and sleeping at Teng Yue's rooftop. Then it's the aftermath of Zhaoyang…
I was so emotional for the whole episode. While I think it's a good way to make them able to go back together, and it didn't feel so abrupt, but I still think that the past 6-8 episodes felt more like a filler. I still love it, and I think it's one of the best drama for this year in contemporary world. Though I wish they shorten it so the drama will feel better. But it's still a good ending for everyone, and I cried buckets.

Final score
Plot: 7.5/10
Acting: 9.5/10
No one become the weak link in the drama. Everyone delivered their performance properly, and some even goes beyond the expectation.
Music: 10/10

is this drama worth watchingin which episode does mainleads start datingand why do they broke up
It has very strong beginning. Up to around eps 29 I think. It's one of the most intense and also very good drama, with good business background as well.
The main leads started dating quite late, around eps 25 or so, then they broke up in eps 34. They broke up because business decision.

Title Rising with the Wind Spoiler
It was always acquisition from the day 1. Son of Mr. Du told JH that they want to buy her shares as well since…
I was confused with all this. Because acquisition is buying the whole shares right? So Jiang Hu's share should be bought as well if they wanted to do acquisition. I'm not sure anymore. I know my company did merger and acquisition, and I remember the finance team saying of buying the whole company and how much we'd be willing to pay to get the brand name and everything, because when we do M&A, it's everything, not just some part of the shares. But I guess I might heard it wrong.

I think so too. Xu Shi might do the transfer of shares but not sure how it will be done. Whatever it is he did, I hope that it's still logical.
