The wedding scene is overly short but still very fun and in my opinion, very beautiful. At least, Shu Yi's taste for her wedding decoration still on point.

While I know my people got frustrated by this show, and I'm also part of those people, but I still do love it a lot. I think it's still very fun, except for the unnecessary scenes of Yi Yang and having too many couples.

Yeah it's a very serious crime-solving one. Almost the same tone as the one in 2018 I think? The one with the dead girlfriend. The vibe is quite dark but it's a fun one. It might not be the best, but I do love it. I guess I love the serious tone in my crime-solving drama lol

To me, there's underlying romance because you can see the care that they have for each other.
If not for this kind of vibe, I don't think Under the Skin could also get that much heat during its airing. Weibo at that time basically just crashed because of how people talked about the two male leads.

There's romance, it's just not spoken loudly haha. The care they have for each other is very obvious, but it's not the type that would make you go all soft because of the romantic gesture.

Nope haha. I'm very harsh with my rating. The highest I ever rated is 2015 drama, Lang Ya Ban (Nirvana in Fire), which is 9.
6 is still quite high in my book. But considering everything in the drama production and value, the score 6 is really good.

2016 version was really good. Like there's underlying romance. You can feel it though it's not said explicitly. The newest version, the one with Zhang Yao, was the worst one. It's more like a romantic drama than case-solving drama. Usually, there's at least interesting look of forensic, since the original novel author is also a professional forensic in China.

There's no one with 0 romance sadly. But most of the time, it's just there but not explored. We know they like each other, but it was not really a big part of the story. Other than the one with Zhang Yao, other version of Dr Qin has good case-solving structure, and it's quite decent as well.

When I first watched it, my first comment to my friend be like: Why he looks like a child pretending to be CEO lol
They wanted to dress him up but clearly he's not able to do his part lol

Still, I agree that Wang Hedi looks very handsome though. I love him with the glasses.

My rating is 6/10 for this drama lol
I'm gonna be generous because I do love it quite a lot and it's a fun experience to me watching it. It did help me to not feel stressed haha

I also don't know why the writer choose it to be that way lol
But all the fluff and the kisses make up for the bad experiences I have for the break up episodes that don't matter lol

To be honest, she acted like that when she first approached him. She was just playing around with him, and he followed along with her act. Remember, he always said that she's a journalist who liked to act. Her act is to be cute around him. I mean, being cute around your boyfriend is not a sin. And he did promise that he will do everything she wanted and more, if she's willing to move into his house. So she just asked him to do things he had promised, it's not a bad thing. Lovers can be lovey dovey all they wanted.

I don't know what sub you're reading, but remember she hurt her hands and can't do it herself and that's why she asked for his help.

They never explained it. It felt so jarring that they left it like that. Shi Yan also said that the scene where Shuyi got rained on in the first episode and he offering her to take her back was not the first time he saw her, but it never got explained. They wasted so many times for the break-up and Yi Yang, I think they have to cut short many things.

Lemme know as well if someone posted the wedding scene! I can't believe they have to cut it because of the stupid break-up drama T_T

Finally, finally, finally, it's over! I binge-watch episode 31-36, and I started to love the drama again. The fun vibe the drama has in the beginning finally back in full swing!

Now that I've finished, I think it's a good time to write down my review.

Plot: 6/10
The plot of this drama is actually very shallow, it barely even scratch the surface. Ever since the first episode I could see that the drama didn't really take themselves seriously. They have fun with this silly plot and go along with it. I was entertained with it in the beginning, before the doomed break-up happened. But even before then, when Yi Yang started to come into the picture, this balance of pure comedy and silliness that the drama has, suddenly come into a halt. It felt like someone else demanded that this Yi Yang character needs to be there, and the script has to be rewritten. Because even though the plot was so silly it's borderline crazy, but it was really fun. I have fun refreshing my Viu page to see whether it has been updated with the next episode. Since Yi Yang came, it felt like the fun, the silly, the laughter the drama showed in the beginning just gone.

Then the break-up that went on for far too long, wasting a lot of plot and the screentime of our main couple so much. It felt like it had to be dragged in order to fit Yi Yang in there, even though he didn't even matter. He had little significance to the story, and yet he's there. It made me felt uncomfortable watching him in the drama, it felt like he's just so out of place. Why put him there if he didn't even needed?

Other than Yi Yang, I also felt that this drama suffered from having too many couples at the same time. The most useless would be Bi Ruoshan and Guanji. I don't even understand why they need to be there. Sometimes, they took too much screentime supposedly for our leads, and it caused the story to go stagnant for a while as well. I can still forgive Qin Shiyue and Yu You, as they don't take that much screentime. But still, with this many couple, the time spent for the two main leads also had to be cut down.

This showed started episode 35-36, where everything felt so rushed and so fast. There are times when the editing felt so weird. AND WHERE IS MY WEDDING.

Acting: 6/10
I didn't see any bad performances, but this means there's no one who stand out either. Bai Lu was okay, but most of the time she act like a child, so it didn't matter. The others are okay as supporting character. I might have the biggest problem with Wang Hedi. It's not that he's bad, but it felt like he's not progressing either in his acting. And when I first started the drama I mentioned it to my friend that he looked like a child trying hard to be a CEO. And when he speaks, it shattered my reality of the cold and dominant CEO. He doesn't sound like one. I felt conflicted saying this, but I'd rather him get dubbed.

Production value: 5/10
I don't even know what to say. There are times when I thought the camera angle totally unnecessary, and there are times when I thought it's just too much. The lighting felt off at times, and I kinda feel some discomfort watching some parts because the light is too strong.

Overall, the drama is 6/10. I enjoy the first 14 episodes of the drama, then the last 6 episodes. I like my drama fluffy and fun.
