Fukuyado Honpo ~ Kyoto Love Story is another really good food-focused jdrama! If you're interested in wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) it will be right up your alley.
So I remember Hana yori Dango as a terribly abusive, psychological mess treating people like garbage. And I was…
I also wasn't able to continue with the original HanaDan for similar reasons so I understand your hesitation, but I gave this drama a chance and I'm super glad I did. The characters in HanaHare are so so so much more likeable (in my opinion). The main guy is a bit hot-headed and spoiled, but at the core he's a genuinely good guy with good character growth too.
I've been meaning to write a Taiga article!! I guess you beat me to it! I'm currently watching Sego-Don and enjoying it, but this one sounds seriously awesome!
I was SO excited for this movie cause the cast is amazing, but the plot was unfortunately rushed and riddled with clichés. It wanted to be a romcom but honestly the jokes and the romance fell pretty flat. The actors did a good job with what they had though so I gave it a 7/10
I’ve been a fan of Japanese TV shows and movies for several years now and it’s only now that I’ve heard…
Thanks so much for reading! If you can find an asadora you really like I promise that 156 episodes will fly by! You might even find yourself wishing for MORE episodes! I know I do! Happy watching :D
Not surprised that Aki is #1 since Amachan is definitely the most popular Asadora in recent memory. She has universal appeal! #4 really surprised me since I've never met anyone who has watched this asadora. It must be really good! Also I made that Hiyokko gif! It's from my episodes 1-12 gifset on tumblr! I'm the only person on the internet who has ever made gifs for Hiyokko so it's hard to miss... I had to make the gifs I wanted to see in the world :') Very happy to see it used here!!
I was hoping someone would write a currently watching article for this drama! I've only watched the first 5 episodes, but I love everything about it so far! Definitely a stand-out drama this season!
Thanks to this article, a lot of MDLers would like to check out Asadora now :) Mare's also a favorite~
Thanks very much for reading! Yeah subbing is an issue :'( I can speak Japanese so I don't always need subs but I do like having them for regional dialects/general better comprehension. Luckily more Asadoras are getting subbed than ever before, so at least many newer ones are accessible!
Wow I love your list! You've included so many of my favourite young actors! But I'm surprised that Takeuchi Ryoma isn't here! He would be #1 on my list!

If you like slice-of-life and character development then you've come to the right genre! I hope you like Mare!
