There's literally TONS of kdramas ... why should I suffer something bad whence there's 10/50/100 more kdramas waiting to be seen ?
And that is just for KOREAN dramas.
When you think about it: korean, thailande, hong kong, japan, taïwan ... there's so much dramas available (and even more NOT available) there's absolutely NO reason to watch something bad.
And that's if you count only DRAMAS. Me, I also watch anime and movie, I read book, comics and mangas, I play videogames ... nope, sorry, but I don't have the time nor the patience to wait for something to be good.
And also: I've read/watched so many things that I can't stand laziness anymore. Nowadays, you watch the first ep, you already know how it's gonna unfold/end ... why waste my time on it when the writer didn't spend time to write it ?
"My time is precious, respect it" is my motto. (^_^)
Can't believe I've waited so long for something so sh*tty ! [>_<]
FFS ... could it be more ridiculous and lazy ?
"I am sadness, I am diabetic, you can't understand my pain" ... YOU FREAKING LITTLE BITCH ! YOU DON'T HAVE AIDS OR CANCER, SHUT THE F*CK UP ! (>_<) (don't even dare talk to me about diabetes, my grand mother died of gangrene, caused by diabetes)
Ok, that part was insufferable, but the rest ?
"bhouhouhou, everybody is mean and ugly, the most pretty girl in the world is also the only one who knows everything but nobody's thanking her while she's busy saving lives !" ... please, add more fluff in your fluff, there's clearly not enough fluff in your lazy fluffy cliche !
Couldn't even finish the ep since it was so poorly written (the retard megane guy only here for exposition ... kill him, please, with a shovel), so uninspired, so lazy ...
I had to wait months for Pretty Proofreader subs (really good drama BTW, highly recommended), but this sh*t is subbed on day one ? SERIOUSLY ? [O_O]
Ishihara Satomi deserved better, she's good in her role but her role is cliche as f*ck and everything is lazy as hell. Will watch because of her, but will skip everything without her on stage, that factually and simply too bad right from the start.
Incompetent doctors everywhere ... I'm not asking for reality but the story starts with an hospital which mus have 254 dead per day caused by totally incompetent doctors. How can someone can say this was good ?
Gosh I'm so pissed ... wasting talented actresses with terrible writing is amongst the most excruciating thing in TV/movie world. (<_<)
Was fun until it became dull. In short ... the first ep was good and then the drama was over. Uninspired is the best word to describe the show, they just checked every usual trope and thought it was enough. But it wasn't ...
Typical bittersweet touching jdrama: it's dumb, you laugh, there's a life lesson, you're moved.
In a way it reminded me of Gibo to Musume no blues since it talked about the joyous pain of being alive AND, when the last ep was there, I didn't want it to end with my big all watery eyes. :'( I hope there'll be a S2 (the ending is pretty open about it ...), clearly it is amongst the best 2020 dramas. ♥
Something is broken, I can't keep watching a story SO stupid. There was ONE good character, one LIKEABLE character, one CREDIBLE character ... and now he's as absurd as the rest of the show. A shame. :/
After ep 4 I'm putting this one on hold, there's clearly not enough story for a 16 eps drama so it's insufferably slow and empty. Plus the antagonists are ALL lazy and uninspired it'scringy and ruined everybody's work. And of course, since it's bad, everything is put on the last 5 minutes for an imploring cliffhanger: "please people, come back next week, this was bad today but I promise you it's going to be good newt week so please come back".
The acting is good, no problem, but the writing is AS USUAL terribly ... I need a word for "typical uninspired lazy kdrama sh*t".
Ep 3 => ok, this is factually going to be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad.
It could have been good (because good acting), but it's going to be baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad because ONCE AGAIN a lazy dumb writer is in charge of the story.
-hello, I'm calling you to tell you that I'm going to send you a picture of the guy trying to murder me right now, I didn't want to send picture before because of reason so I'm calling you to make sure you know it's me sending you a picture of a dangerous guy instead of running away to protect my life while he's doing things on the wall with a knife because he looks so cool doing that and that's why I've taken a picture and I'm going to send it to you.... ho nooooooo, he killed me before I could send the picture, what a twist ! :(
2020, people are still using the old trope which used to be funny in the old school horror movie (you know, like "why the car refuse to start ? the killer is right here !" ) ...
Kdrama in a nutshell: so much potential, always ruined by a stupid lazy writer.
And on another subject: to make a good story, you need a good antagonist. Protip => "BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I AM A PSYCHO I AM BAD BWAHAHAHAHAHA" is NOT a good antagonist characterization. At best it's retarded, at worst it makes you wonder HOW can somebody be payed to write something so lazy and dumb. (-_-)"
We just need a romance and it'll be a total waste of time.
I mean, there's a character purposely ramming a cop's car AND IT'S FINE ?!? {O_O} There's a character trying to kill somebody with a baseball bat AND HE WALKS FREE ?!? {O_O}
Plus ... except the cop, everybody is mediocre. Like ... really petty people. Hypocrite, infidel, violent, manipulative ... am I supposed to care for anyone in this show ?
It's not that it's a bad drama it's more like "WTF ?!?" every now and then. :/
You should rename this article "why I stopped watching Kdramas". :p And you forget the usual "main female lead is a complete sexist cliche" (dumb, hysterical really dumb, superficial, excruciatingly dumb ... and so dumb you're wondering how she's able to breath all by herself).
First one was the reason Reply 1988 was a let down in the end: ep 17 was a true insult for the viewers. That and the fact that hyeri's character was ... I don't want to be reminded how messed up her character was. (u_u)
(watch Eun jo's room, that one is a good lighthearted romance ♥ )
Thank you for writing your article. Let me respectfully disagree. Here are five reasons for NOT watching Extracurricular:1.…
I'm on "kdrama pause", too much sh*tty kdrama ruined my love for the genre. And by reading your comment it's clear I would have been infuriated once again by watching this. XD
Really wondering if the "kdrama overhype" is gonna end, I miss having a ton of quality kdramas to watch every week. :(

Subs are coming ! \o/
First ep out today ! \o/

Clearly there was a fired writer or an angry director because the story/characters are poorly written and stopped making any sense really early.
A waste. :/
Clearly not worth watching, a waste of talent and your time. :/
