This makes so much sense. The Kim clan already had a full proof plan to ruin the banquet. Even though the banquet succeeded they still pushed back by capturing the guards. They have little incentive to kill at this point. Plus the Grand queen dowager seemed genuinely surprised by the explosion. I just hope the explosion pushes the Kim clan to some disadvantage and he is able to rescue his guards!

It s vexing because some good writing can easily fix this holes but they don't seem to care.
