My God, she waited for all day! Like people take years to come out, and he just had a weekend. And why does he have to do anything for Judit. He is not in a relationship with Judit but with Vlad. It's fine however she behaved as a sister, but she is not an ally, that's all, so she should stop parroting that.

Aew is too accommodating to Teh, and Vlad is too pushy.

The last episode just ruined it for me. I hated the way the brother-sister duo ganged up on Karl, like give him some time, seriously. Vlad said, "I want to help him come out" and then "either you come out or you must be ashamed of me", is that helping!
And I officially hate the sister. Can I just say, people who have no business should just stay away. The whole "I'm an ally" and then "I'm a sister first", well, fine, but then you are not an ally.

I was watching again and the beach scene where Teh is restless and Aew say "Secret!", and Teh visibly relaxes, that really hurt.

Yeah, JPdramas are great but in a different way. Have you seen Takane no Hana, I really liked that one?

I don't think so because I have also watched a lot of anime myself until a few years ago. Age group is also not the issue because you can see the difference with (straight) K-dramas which have grownup characters.
I am not saying Jdramas are not good enough or something. In fact, they are my favorite as I can only watch JDramas without subtitles!

OMG, your comment just blew me away. Yes, more often than not it is so difficult to express ones true emotions for another. This is compounded by the fact that he himself does not understand his own emotions.
You comment reminded me of this movie "Dream Boy". That also captures inarticulateness of first love, where the characters can't clearly express themselves, only a desperate gasp of "touch me".

no no, I suppose when you pointed it out, the current two popular Thai and Philippines shows Sunset and GSP crossed my mind, so I wrote that. I also have some problem with a lot of cliched Thai BLs.
Japanese shows are very good, but I feel like there is something missing, like there is some kind of restraint in their relationships, its not that uninhibited as series from other Asian countries. Again, I can't really pin down what I really want to say.

I don't know which ones you are referring too particularly, but some of the them are quite good in spite of their low budget. Also, although Japanese shows are very well made from technical pov, they somehow lack the emotional intensity in general. I don't know how to put it better.
For instance, this episode was good but nothing extraordinary.

Yes , the turnaround in 3rd episode was a totally pleasant surprise.

About the other stuff you wrote, as fas as I am concerned, coming out to myself was much more difficult than coming out to society. You know if you are straight, you are supposed to have gf at that age, so if you have those feelings for someone, you dont question that feeling itself. But if you have those feelings for another guy; like jealousy,attachment and stuff (as Teh says, all I know I want to be with you, and I dont like you being close to others), then you are confused whether you are too attached to a good friend or it something else. The same feelings (desire for exclusivity, for instance) is considered unhealthy in the friendship setting but is perfectly natural in a romantic attraction. But what is the setting you are dealing with? You have no idea in the beginning. So you question and even look down on yourself for being so attached or dependent on a "friend". It takes time to separate those too.

As for Teh though, this is 2021 and he had those feelings for too long already and Aew also feels the same way, so I cant help but feel his struggle a bit too much, a part of it now, I can no longer relate to anymore. Now it seems, more about coming out to society than to himself.

But, all in all this series has put the inside turmoil of someone discovering their sexuality, under a microscope in a way that no other series has done. That too with great beauty and sensitivity.
