I actually also missed the one in Go ahead at first, till some on ereminded me, I lvoe most of these dramas, and…
You're welcome! Great article btw. We need this kind of awareness. Although they are just dramas, when we're not careful, they could influence our real life.
While I love C-dramas as they are light and easy to watch, I understand all the points raised. I personally missed that problematic scene in Professional Single and even the non-consensual kiss in Go Ahead (those 2 dramas are my absolute faves). I won't say that I'm desensitized with those concerns as I've also over time have been educated about it. But there are also times that I enjoy them and find them cute even. Maybe because it's a drama or the romantic music they play over it.
For me, it's an okay show. Not really remarkable but something I'll probably watch again just for the cute scenes.…
I don't really buy the ending of In Hyung and JJ. It felt forced. I wasn't wishing for a redemption arc for JJ but I guess, I still loved that he and Joon made up. Also, the last 2 episodes were kind of underwhelming lol especially episode 15 in which I almost skipped the hell out of everything. I still liked that pacing of webtoon better.
For me, it's an okay show. Not really remarkable but something I'll probably watch again just for the cute scenes. The ending was like those typical endings where everything is just wrapped up in a nice ribbon. I really enjoyed it though! If you're looking for a cliche, fluffy, hate-to-love kind of romance, you'd love this!
Damn the way Tak Dong Kyung told off that jerk of a writer was so satisfying. The Deity's role is so interesting. I don't understand her intentions but I can't seem to really hate her. Anw, I'm betting my coins that this show will have a sad and angsty ending.
This drama has so many good quotes D': Here are some of my favorite this far: "You'll probably wait for the day…
Adding this! "The rain isn't a big deal. Even if you're the only one with umbrella, it's fine. Just get wet. Get wet and run. You'll be home soon." (Myeol Mang, EP 6)
Am I the only one a little bothered with the lens used in filming this? lol I feel like every scene is some sort of a flashback or a fever dream. Other than that, I'm sold with this drama. I love the comedy and the mystery aspect of it. The relationship between the 2 leads kind of makes me wonder if that's how it would be like dating someone older and more mature ha! Arguing would probably consist of you bursting out in anger and him immediately apologizing he made you feel that way hahaha!
Also, Jang Ki Young and Hyeri are just perfectly casted for this!
Would anyone be interested to know some differences between the manhwa and the drama? I'd mark it as a spoiler…
Here you go! Read at your own risk. May or may not be accurate.
1. Geun Young and Who Joon's relationship isn't so bad. They'd still play tricks with each other but you can feel them slowly warming up as they get to know each other's struggle. She'd look out for him and he'd start caring for her too. She'll hear from WJ what actually happened to him, JJ, and In Young. So even when JJ invites GY over, she's already wary of him. 2. GY starts to realize she likes WJ on the trip abroad (that scene where she gets lost) 3. While WJ cares for GY, he doesn't realize his feelings at first. 4. WJ becomes jealous of Jin Hyang and GY's closeness. He'd assume that GY likes his manager and he'd even set them up for a date to make GY happy. 5. IY is a nice person, you'd definitely sympathize with her. She helps GY to get away from fans/reporters by giving her a ride. They'll eventually become friends and GY will be her confidant. 6. JJ is not only annoying but he is just pure evil. He is manipulative and abuses IY :( 7. IY and WJ are actually over each other. WJ still cares for her for old time's sake and genuinely wants her to succeed as well. IY just mourns for the broken friendship between the three. 8. GY is unassuming, has lesser prejudice against WJ and can stand up for herself. Drama GY is more sassy and snarky towards WJ but is meek toward her oppressors. GY 9. WJ is cute and a big softie. Unlike in the drama, he's actually addicted to this bunny character. The forbidden room on the 2nd floor is where he keeps his stash lmao. 10. Ji Hyang wears glasses and is really hot. Thank God he was not a second lead because we don't want him to get hurt. (He'd end up with IY) 11. GY has her own room in the condo. And WJ would even buy her a furniture UWU 11. Drama uses a lot of scenes from the original source but just not executed properly. One example is the scene where GY is in her bathrobe and suddenly the staff enters the unit. In the webtoon, she's with WJ at that time, both of them hid and got locked out in the balcony. And they'd share a cheesy moment if you know what I mean.
That's it for now. Avoided any major spoilers that have not yet happened in our drama timeline.
If everything gets sorted out that soon , what would be left in the story ... remember it's a 16 episode show
I get it. But everything is pretty much stagnant. It's just my personal opinion but sometimes I find myself finishing an episode and be like "huh, that's it?"
Would anyone be interested to know some differences between the manhwa and the drama? I'd mark it as a spoiler :D I kinda made a list because I was a little bored.
Can someone tell me if I should start watching this show now or wait till it is over? Its just that I cant wait…
watch it in full haha this show definitely loves cliffhangers on the other hand, if you're going to watch it now, you'll be able to participate in discussions :)
I love this drama but at the same time, I'm so frustrated with it lol. It's EP9 already but they're still hostile with each other. Sure, I see that Who Joon cares for her but I hate that he gaslights her :( I really wish for them to look out for each other. Or maybe that's just me comparing it to the original material where they've beautifully transitioned from being enemies to friends to lovers. Oh well, I just hope this drama picks up its pace because at this point it's just a cycle of bickering, misunderstanding, GY being stepped upon, JJ's annoying face, and IY being pitiful.
I mean it's cute that HJ finally fell for GY, but he's still treating her like s**t. Only a small part of me ships…
In the original material, Ji Hyang is really sweet and nice too that Geun Young kinda develops a little crush on him. Which lowkey makes Who Joon jealous xD
I know that manhandling is bad and I cringe every time the male lead pushes her, drags her, forces himself on her yet I'm still hooked with this drama. Am I a hypocrite? Is this called a guilty pleasure? I just love the chemistry of both actors though and I stan a strong female lead.
