hmm, i'm not sure if you watched the entire series or not, but if you did, your opinion might change. there is no real chemistry between lu ping and qin sang...lots of staring tho. i kinda wrote a review down in the comments if you want to see why the ending is better than with qin sang, but she dies near the end, so you get to see quite some scenes of them together.

hey! so that plot won't make a lot of sense if you skip episodes completely. I would recommend you just skip certain scenes that you might find draggy in each episode. If you do rely on subs, just go for the parts where its mainly about the four (Lu Ping, Xifan, Su Tang, and Mo Lin). They are afterall, the group that will last strongly until the end and there will be some great scenes.

I honestly didn't think Legend of Awakening was that bad. Like many of the commenters, I liked everything going on before ep. like 30. Afterwards, it got a little draggy.
The only thing I didn't like...was the chemistry between Lu Ping and Qin Sang. It felt a little cringey during some of their scenes because there really was no meaningful impact they gave to each other or the show overall. It was kind of like, I like you, you like me, jokes around a bit....then aw, we don't stand for the same thing, so we gotta fight ....there wasn't much of a connection.
The ending waspresented beautifully. It really portrayed Lu Ping's desire of living an average life and his relationship with Xifan as good brothers. Yes, it's not the "happy ending" that people might be looking for, but it is, in my opinion, a better ending than with Qin Sang. No hate on her; she was a badass fighter. (clarification for how Qin Sang died: she was poisoned and basically had only a little bit of time left, but she ate a type of flower/plant that healed her. Lu Ping gets sick a little while after and the only cure for his illness is the flower/plant that Qin Sang took. There is only that one plant in the world, and it was already in Qin Sang's blood. Qin Sang decides to swap her entire body's worth of blood with his (sounds better in chinese; my life for his life) and so she ends up with Lu Ping's illness and dies soon after.)
Can we talk about Chu Min tho? She is sooo pretty and a great master!

if you are talking about legend of awakening, then yeah, i didn't like the fact that they killed off the fl. but the ending was pretty open to opinion tho, since the ml finally becomes a free person and what he wanted to be since the beginning
The plot is not messy. You have to understand fully about what they are saying in Mandarin. If you are not someone who understands, please don't use assumptions. They actually follow the plot line quite well, but without Zhu Que and the amnesia part, the story would be boring. I gotta give credit to Yu Zheng for the Legend of Lu Zhen.
You cannot watch it full with English Subs anywhere. Viki has put it on their channel so soon there will be translation. Warning: It will come very very slowly.
