I still think it would have been more interesting if she had actually become her stepmother and lived with them…
I agree with the last part. That was completely unnecessary and very cliché. The talk they had in jail felt very convenient to wrap up things but I personally did not buy it. Also, her son became a murderer because he knew his mother had ordered someone to do it and he just went ahead and took matters into his own hands. He probably hated the guy since he beat him up really well and technically "stole" his mother.
That said, the female lead had nothing to do with it and I still feel the hatred was not justified. She could have just got rid of her like she did with other people, but would rather have her alive and suffering which made me believe there was a hidden reason why she hated her so much. And for me, after everything was revealed, that reason just didnt exist. And all that hatred just did not make sense to me.
I still think it would have been more interesting if she had actually become her stepmother and lived with them…
The thing is, the female lead did not want anything to do with that. She just wanted to put her life together and be her daughter’s stepmother. And even if that was the case, at most the female lead and the granddaughter were an inconvenience that she wanted to get rid of. But the writers tried to sell that Kim Ho Ran really hated the female lead like she had ever done something to her, which was not the case.
Also, she was interfering with the female lead’s life even before she found out that her daughter was alive. At that point the female lead was not a threat in any way. It was like she did not want the female lead to be happy and just live a miserable life. That for me seems like unfounded hatred. I knew pretty early that she was the one who ordered the murder and to blame her daughter-in-law and that the victim was probably not her son. So the entire time I was waiting for the writers to give us a good reason why she hated the female lead so much, and I felt that never happened. But this is just my opinion, maybe other people felt everything was wrapped up flawlessly.
I still think it would have been more interesting if she had actually become her stepmother and lived with them for some time before the cat was out of the bag. I did not like how Kim Ho Ran had control over almost everything up until the last 2 episodes when things started falling apart for her. Also, I get why she wanted the female lead to become the murderer and keep it that way, but why did they make it look like she had a personal hatred for her and did not want to see her happy? Like, she got what she wanted, the female lead was blamed for the murder and served the sentence. So why keep bothering her all the time, its not like her re-marrying or being with her kid would affect her or her son in any way?? That part for me made her "hatred" baseless. Its not like it was the female lead that made her stepson turn to drugs and become violent, so really, there is no valid reason for her to hate the female lead so much that she has to torment her even after she is out of jail.
The way you said it I thought she was still in high school. She's 19, and that makes her old enough. When I was…
In my country you are considered an adult at 18, she is 19. A teenager is usually someone between the ages of 12 and 17. Of course this varies depending on the country you live in.
The idea is good, the drama is good but I felt it could have been better. There is just something about Taiwanese dramas, they always drag. I felt like the novel world thing ended too early and the episodes after that were mostly boring to watch. Maybe they should have left all that for like the last 2 episodes so it would not feel as draggy. But overall it was a good drama.
Lol, never in my life would I think I'd ever see someone reference pimba music to a kdrama! But it's totally spot…
Yeah, believe me, you were not the only one to be annoyed by that. I am sure there are still some people out there breaking their devices after watching that scene. lol
why is this drama receiving so much criticism? its really not bad at all
I think it depends on a lot of factors like how long you have been watching dramas or if you had any expectations before starting the drama, and so on. I know this drama had a lot of hype so many people may have been disappointed when the story did not deliver what they expected.
In my case, I have been watching dramas for about a decade, and this kind of plot is not good enough for my standards so I dropped it. When you have been watching dramas for a long time, you get picky and what might seem like a pretty good drama for someone who just started watching dramas, to you it feels like an average or even below average drama.
Yeah, if you have been watching dramas for a long time, this just wont do it for you.
I am not a huge fan of slice of life but I can think of at least 2 kdramas of this genre that I rated 9/10...and I rarely give 9 to dramas, usually a really good drama gets an 8 or an 8.5.
This one is so badly written that I just could not watch it until the end. And I am someone who hates dropping dramas. But this one really did not feel worth those extra hours that I could spend watching something else.
The link is not working so I searched for the drama since I already knew their website, but there are no episodes. Usually the link is in the image or under it but there is nothing. I only need to watch the last 4 episodes.
There was someone subbing it but because of some really rude people who felt entitled to things, the subber ended…
Yeah, his character definitely was ok, but the story itself was a little boring, not as exciting as I thought it would be with this kind of plot. And without subs, I ended up dropping it. If someone else subs it in the future, I might give it another chance.
Actually, if you already watched the ending, I think it is kind of a sequel.
Remember how in the last episode Mo Wan (inside Mo Xin’s body) threw herself and the emperor down a cliff? I think this is what happened with her. Instead of dying, she lost her memories, just like her sister when they switched bodies, and the story continues from there.
I heard that this movie is about Mo Wan in Mo Xin’s body, is it true? So my hope for Mo Wan to be the FL in…
Well, I just finished the drama and considering the way it ended and how the summary here says that the story happens after she falls from a cliff, then yeah, sounds about right.
It is bittersweet. Some might consider it HE since they are both alive but they are not together and basically the movie is about how he constantly sacrifices himself for her and then at the end she is the one who sacrifices herself for him. Sorry if that spoiled too much. But yeah, I personally dont think its a happy ending. It is pretty sad actually.
It is an ok drama if you have nothing else to watch. But thats it. Nothing special about the story. Very average and quite boring at times. Something I definitely would not watch a second time.
