I cannot understand how some short dramas have ratings near 8 or even more while this one has a rating of 7.1

It was better than a lot of regular length dramas. Sure, it is not your fluffy romance drama, but it is not about romance at all, it is about revenge, justice...and it did that very well. Like the only review here said: "Satisfying from Beginning to End"

If anything I would have liked them to have developed Prince Ning's character a bit more. I feel like they could have dedicated a bit more time to wrapping up the drama too but in the end the FL finished what she set out to do and that was all this drama was about.

Season 2 is not confirmed and they have not started filming yet. The one you mentioned is a Japanese remake and the first episode aired today, October 19.

Only 10 episodes out of 30 are out so it will be a while until we can get those answers.

I was talking about biology not that being a mother at 16 is appropriate. Most women will have their period around 13 so an age gap of 13 or more does mean it would be possible for her to be his mother, biologically speaking.

I have recently watched quite a few Chinese thrillers that had better ratings and were nowhere close to how good this one was.

Maybe it is a bit too much to stomach for some people. I would understand the rating if they were eating a burger while watching this.

Zhao Jin Mai did a really good job at portraying Zhen Zhen and I really liked the character growth she got. The actors playing the bad guys also did a good job because just seeing them on screen made me want to punch them in the face.

They might have used some AI but nothing much, there are actual AI generated dramas and thankfully this is not one of those. I am ok with CGI and even AI if it is not too obvious and does not substitute real actors.

Thankfully. I could not stand her either.

I know, Tian Xi Wei is so pretty that it is hard to believe she is real...she must be AI generated. lol

Yup. The sisters (I'm guessing they are twins) are pretty similar personality wise, both are cunning and strong, the main difference is the FL has a good heart and is compassionate, while wei rao is pure evil, spoiled rotten, sees humans as nothing more than dirt under her feet.

I kinda understand where they are coming from. Tian Xi Wei is so pretty that it looks like she is not real. XD

Keep watching...you will not be disappointed.

Good thing they air new episodes everyday because making ep 4 end like that made me regret not waiting for more episodes to be out before starting to watch. ^^'

This could have been a masterpiece but because of some writing choices + China's censorship, it was just an ok drama. Not bad by any means but definitely could have been much better.

The novel is probably better since there is less censorship.

I had to pause just to say this....who had the genius idea of revealing pretty much the entire plot of the drama in the first 2 minutes? ^^'

P.S. - Not trying to ruin your day or anything but the actor playing the male lead died back in June so this will probably be one of the last dramas where we will be able to see him.

I was really enjoying this one but Idk if they had to cut it short or what...20 episodes is not the usual episode count, usually it is 24, 30 or 36 for modern day dramas but the pacing was weird.

The first 10 episodes were more on the slow side and I was ok with that - I liked that pace, then it picked up the pace a bit and then they rushed the ending, it felt so anticlimatic, almost like that was not supposed to be the ending. I also felt when it came to the romance they could have given us a little bit more of intimacy. I recently finished The Early Spring and I though this one was better...aside from the rushed ending but The Early Spring had a lot more intimacy which I felt was missing here.

I wish they could make a fusion of the 2 - the healthy relationship and business plot from this one with the intimacy from The Early Spring.

Yeah, her character was one of the ones I liked the most in terms of character growth and breaking expectations. I would have loved to see those scenes. I think a lot of things were edited out in the last few episodes, maybe because they had to keep the episode count shorter.

You put into words exactly how I felt too. There have been only a few dramas that left me feeling like this and I have been watching dramas for a long time. I also cried a lot while watching the last few minutes of the drama. T T

There were quite a few...maybe the most I have seen in only a few episodes. But I think it was intentional, so we could feel how fast life goes by, people get older, people die, people are born and no matter what is happening in your life, outside life is still going on for other people.

I definitely know what you mean since I felt the same way for a long time. But I eventually accepted that some things are better left the way they are. Her husband eventually found out and that is all that matters. Her identity being revealed without her family's name being cleared would put her and everyone else in the Lin family in danger.
