Don’t give up on it because of that. I disagree. I only watch dramas with romance and this one has plenty of it. It just isn’t as fast as other lakorns or the main plot. They do not fall for each other at first glance and I disagree with people saying there was no chemistry between the leads. We have to remember they are playing characters who have very different social status, so showing a lot of passion and no care for things like duty would seem fake. I liked the fact they took their time getting to know each other and falling in love, and more than passion their eyes showed longing, which I think was the most realistic direction since we are talking about 2 very different people - a crown princess soon to be queen and a "simple" military man.

Reading the description I got high expectations about this one but going into it soon enough I knew I would be disappointed. The start is confusing to say the least. The whole pace was weird and I could not feel any connection to the characters. I would have liked for it to start from the beginning. Starting in the present can work if its not extended and the past is properly explained soon after, which did not happen here and for many episodes I had a hard time even remembering people’s names and their role in the plot. I ended up dropping it in the middle and just checked the last episode to know the ending. Felt like it was a smart decision as I was just wasting my time.

Dont get me wrong. I am not saying the drama is bad. I guess I just wasnt in the mood or it had too much political and war stuff and too little romance + confusing storyline. It just wasnt my cup of tea.

I was shocked at first too, but still gave it a try and was not disappointed. The acting, at least the male lead’s acting improves a lot and at the end it managed to make me cry just like the korean version did. Yes, the story is exactly the same, but that is what a remake is supposed to be. It should stay true to the original and that’s exactly what happened.

I still think the original is better because the actor that played the male lead is just amazing. Also, since it was the first one I watched, there was the WOW factor, which didnt happen with this one since I already knew what would happen next. I think people who watch this without having watched the korean version will definitely rate this better than people like us who watched both and are able to compare and tell which one is better.

As I watched Kill Me, Heal Me not that long ago, 1-2 years ago, the story was still very fresh in my mind and I could remember what would happen next, which made this remake a little boring for me at times, BUT that was not because it was actually boring. It was because I could not avoid comparing both versions and since I remembered the story there was not that WOW factor that I had when I watched the korean version. Still, it was a very successful remake, true to the story and very well played by the actors that were chosen. The osts were pretty good too, just like the ones played in the original.

If you haven’t watched the original, I am sure you will love this. If you did watch the original and still remember everything, maybe you can save this one for later, when you dont remember as many details. I would still recommend you to watch the korean version, in case you didnt yet. This was a 8 for me. The original was a 9, cause I never give 10s.

The first half was so sweet that I almost got diabetes, the second half was like going to the hospital because I’m sick and the ending was just like eating tasteless food because the doctor said I had to. So yeah, I get why a lot of people are unhappy with the second half, but that’s life. Not everything is sweet, and as much as going to the hospital sucks, we have to do it sometimes. Could have been better but it was not bad. 7/10 (7 is a I would watch it again even if it was not my favourite)

Like most people I was left with mixed feelings about that ending. I liked the first 2/3 of the drama and then for the last part the story completely changed its direction, almost as if the last part was written by different people. I would be ok with who each person ended up with BUT I am definitely not ok with the main female lead ending up professionally realized but with no romantic interest. It felt like a happy ending with a touch of mackjang.

This was good, very good ... a really good soap opera. So if you like watching soap operas, you will love this, if you are tired of those, you will be like me, still like it for the awesome writting and acting. I probably wont watch it again since it is not really my kind of drama, but that does not mean it was not good. Chocolate is good, a lot of people like it, but there are people who dont. We should judge a drama by its quality and not personal preferences. People cant say Nutella is of bad quality just because they dont like chocolate. So there you go, thats what I think about this drama. ^^

Im glad I gave this drama a chance. Some negative reviews and coments almost made me put it in the not interested list. True, it does not have much romance, and I am someone who picks dramas who almost always have a lot of romance, true, it has many flaws, BUT it was still a good watch for me. Sometimes little hints of romance fit this kind of drama better than a romance that starts from episode one. And about the story itself, a lot of people were complaining about it being too obvious. Maybe it was, but it still made everyone think twice. It reminded me of Pretty Little Liars, an american tv show, everytime you thought you knew who A was, then the next episode you were like oh, its not him, its the other person, then the one after oh maybe it was him afterall and by the end everyone was A and no one was A. The writers kept tricking us into believing the culprit was someone else almost every episode and I cant say anything else without it being considered a spoiler. Anyway, it was not one of my favourite dramas but it was not as bad as many people describe it. I guess it just wont be everyone’s cup of tea.

If you judge it by character development and the turn a new leaf theme, then it deserves a full 10.

I think this was the first Kdrama I watched but I am not sure since it was many years ago. But I believe this is the 3rd time I’m watching it. As a rom-com it is nothing special, there are better dramas out there. But as someone who studied in a cooking school for 3 years and who loves cooking and cooks everyday, I like it enough to watch it more than once. But it is mainly for the huge focus on cooking, which I love. If the cooking part was not as present as I have seen happening in other dramas, I would not watch it more than once.

If I pick a drama about cooking I expect it to be about cooking, and if a drama that should be mainly focused on cooking does not focus on that, then they must make everything else interesting enough for me to keep watching. Unfortunately I have to say that this one without the cooking part would pretty much amount to nothing, so I am a glad they kept the focus on that. Rated it 7/10

I personally did not like it as much as I expected or as the 8.5 rating made me believe I would like. I had a hard time connecting to the story and characters with the whole past/present thing all together in the same episode. The only drama I can remember that used this same going back and forth in time in every episode and that was able to wow me was the kdrama Circle.

I do think that it was well made and the actors were good and it had some sweet moments that I liked but unfortunately I felt bored most of the time. Maybe 24 episodes was too long. Maybe it was all the side stories with so many secondary characters having screen time. Maybe I just
wasnt in the mood for this kind of drama. I dont know.

Im not saying its bad, its not. It just wasnt my cup of tea, but it might be yours so I would still give it a try if I was you.

Sorry for the late answer. Have been quite busy lately. The romance is there but it is definitely a sub plot.

I dropped this drama on the first episode not once, but TWICE. But it kept appearing in front of me so I decided to give it another chance. The first episode wasn’t that good for me, not bad but it just didn’t give me that wow I want to keep watching feeling. But by episode 2 the story starts to develop well and at the end, I watched everything and liked it. Although not my favourite be it for the romance or medical part, it is pretty good. I don’t know if I will re-watch it but I am glad I watched it at least once.

I can count on my fingers how many medical dramas I have watched. This one had a different vibe to it. It wasnt only medical stuff, it also had the disaster scenario, hints of romance, and much more. It was not perfect, had its flaws which made me skip a few scenes in the last episodes, and I wish there was more romance, although I understand for this type of drama romance is either non existent or has a small presence. But I liked it and I think it deserves the rating I gave it, which is close to the overall rating of this drama - 8.

This is hard to review for me. I put it on hold several times since the first few episodes and almost dropped it. But I am glad I did not. The first few episodes were in my opinion boring most of the time but necessary for us to understand what the main characters went through in their childhood, how that changed them as they became adults and the motivations behind each character. So if you can get through the first few episodes without dropping it you might start to enjoy it once it shows them as adults, which was the case for me. At some point I felt the pace got slower but then it picked up again and I did not binge watch it as I usually do, instead I would watch it during my meals and pauses from work which made me enjoy it a lot more.

I feel that there were 2 main problems with this drama - 1 is obviously the 50 episodes that could have easily been 30 instead and the other is the fact that they had too many genres in one drama - melodrama, romance, investigation, comedy, and so on. Those 2 things made the drama draggy at some points and I believe people who try to watch a lot of episodes in the same day might feel tempted to drop it.

But at the end I did not regret watching this, it made me smile so many times, made me tear up too and feel frustrated at the actions of some characters. I would not rewatch it as it is 50 episodes long but I would definitely rewatch some scenes. I guess the rating for this drama is pretty accurate compared to other dramas. I gave this a 7, which for me is the rate I give to dramas I liked enough to rewatch.
