I liked the manga when I read it 5 or 6 years ago but I dont know why, maybe cause I already knew the story, I didnt find the drama as interesting as I thought I would. There were episodes that I liked a lot but most of the time I was bored while watching it and ended up dropping it at episode 12 after putting it on hold for weeks. If you liked the manga I would still give it a try. Maybe you will like it a lot. I might be on a drama slump, who knows!

I guess I had high expectations since I had to wait months to watch it but it was not as good as I thought. I mean its not bad, it follows the history but it just wasnt my cup of tea. Maybe it was too long, I dont know. I just felt bored most of the time and ended up skipping a lot of scenes.

A 6.6 rating as I write this. I guess most of the people who rated this so low did not bother to watch the whole thing. I admit you really need a lot of patience and self control to watch the first half of the drama. Mi Ri is not your typical female lead. She is selfish, greedy and most of all a BIG LIAR. I do not approve of her actions at all BUT I would rather watch a bad female lead that throughout the drama has some character development and suffers the consequences of her actions than watch a nice female lead just being nice the entire drama while suffering the consequences for things she didnt do. That is what most dramas are about and it can get tiring.

For the character development and for being different from all the other dramas, I think this definitely deserves a better rating.

Loved the manga. . . Was a little disappointed with the movie.
Yeah. I felt the same way.

I remember reading the manga a few years ago but I dont think the movie is that good. Like many other japanese movies based on mangas, this one too feels like something is missing. We dont really have time to connect to the story and characters. Also, the acting is a little too much for me. In the manga it is ok when Aoi screams and overreacts to things, but seeing a real person doing it is a little cringy for me. I gave it a 6/10.

I'm struggling with finishing this drama. I have only a couple of episodes left but am finding myself uninterested…
My thoughts exactly. Usually I take 2 days to watch a 16 episodes drama, this one took me almost 3 months. Around episode 10 I started feeling bored watching it.

looks like i'm not the only who's stuck... its so hard to finish his drama, innit?
No, youre not the only one. Before you posted this comment I had already started watching this and only finished now. It took me almost 3 months to finish it. I had to keep forcing myself to watch 1 episode and then another till I reached the last episode. After episode 10 I skipped a lot of scenes too. Usually I take 2 days to watch a 16 episode drama, this one took me months, which is sad because I kinda liked the first few episodes...then I just got stuck.

I don’t know if I am the only one but I was invested in this for the first few episodes and then started to feel bored watching the other ones. It took me months to finally finish it. I had to force myself to watch it and the last episodes I skipped a lot of scenes. I just could not get hooked to the story and characters. I even thought the bromance was better than the romance between the lead couple, and romance is my favorite genre.

This dorama is on level every crappy shojo manga/anime ever. The acting is horrible, story predictable as hell,…
I know what you mean. Both story and characters have no depth. The acting is cringy most of the times too. 5 episodes of 20 minutes is also not enough to develop anything. I would describe this as fan service. There is nothing more than that. I remember reading the manga a few years ago and I think I liked it since I still remember most of the story but some mangas should stay as mangas. Watching real people acting like characters in mangas can be really cringy. This was one of those cases.

I dont think this needs a second season but definitely needed a few more episodes or at least a movie. The romance between the leads was way too slow paced and in the end I felt like it just wasnt enough. I cant blame the drama tho since it is based on a manga that I remember reading a few years ago. This is a one time watch for me and I do not handle very well this type of slow paced and frustrating romance so I can only watch romance like this once in a while. Still, I did like it, just wish there was more focus on the romance between the main leads. 6.5/10

I now understand why so many people are calling this drama frustrating in the comments.
Based on the first episodes I started having expectations that maybe I would really like this, give it a high rating and rewatch it in the future. I was SO WRONG. Without spoiling it, let me try explaining how it felt using food as an example.

Imagine you go to a restaurant for the first time. You have no expectations about the food since all the previous restaurants served you food that was just ok. Then to your surprise you get served something delicious. You have a bite, a second one and you really start enjoying it. You can only think: "If the first dish is this delicious, then Im sure everything else up to the dessert will be too". Then, suddenly, the waiter comes and takes the plate out of the table without even letting you finish the food and instead gives you instant noodles (nothing against instant noodles, I eat them too). You are still hungry so you end up eating the noodles (not like you have another choice). The waiter comes again and this time you hope he will serve you something better, something as good as the first dish. But no, he serves you a hot dog (again, nothing against hot dogs). By the time he brings you dessert, and this time it is a delicious looking one just like the first dish, you are not able to enjoy it as you're full from eating the noodles and hot dog and just want to finish the dessert fast so you can leave the damn restaurant.

If you already watched this you will probably understand my weird explanation and if you did not then go ahead and watch it anyway. I am not saying I did not like this, I just felt they had the chance to do so much better but ruined it by focusing too much on the sub plots instead of the main plot. The focus should have been more on the fake marriage and how their relationship evolved, but instead they gave us useless supporting characters that if were not there it would not have affected the main plot at all, and sub plots that did not really fit what was supposed to be a rom-com. In the end, what could have easily been a 8 or 9 based on the first few episodes turned out to be a 6.5/10.

Loved that they gave us a happy ending for everyone, a marriage and a sneak peek of their married life. Just wish they showed us a little more of it. Afterall she lived for 70 years without having children and by consequence grandchildren, so it would have been nice to see some kids running around the house for the perfect ending.
