Even though I am not a fan of rich/poor people storylines, this drama is slowly creating a comfy spot inside my heart. I know that a lot of people feel that there is no chemistry between the leads because they are "awkward" with each other, I think that is the essence of their love. We tend to mistake grounded and restrained chemistry for awkwardness. The love between CSH and KJH is not crazily passionate or intense like a fire that burns everything around it (we have LOADS of stories about that), but it is gentle and lyrical, building up slowly with each encounter. There are many scenes where the director makes us notice the position of their hands. Whenever they are around each other, they are hyper aware of the space around them, and KJH especially doesn't know what to do with his hands - he restrains himself from holding or bringing her closer, or even wrapping his arms around her. It's the same for CSH, she is an extremely guarded person with a very powerful/tough aura - she is the CEO of a company, she is much older than KJH and is also his boss. CSH feels "uncomfortable" being touched by KJH a couple of times as well, and the reason is because she doesn't know how to allow anyone to enter her space, and nobody dares to do so because she is so distant herself. As an introvert I resonate with this a lot, and I am glad this drama has a female character who is very restrained, and I don't mind the slow pace at all, in fact, I find this to be my type of love story. To me, this story feels fresh and new, because in terms of the romance, it doesn't follow generic tropes, and the chemistry is unlike any other I have seen. The director plays around with the politics of space and distance (physical, social, age-dependent, psychological) with these two characters, and it's just so lovely to analyze the little details.

"There are roads I want to take when I'm told not to. That is life, and yearning. That is, you." Bo Gum and Hye Kyo are doing an excellent job of interpreting this poem from their heart. When we think about the word "yearning" a lot of people can interpret it as a feverish desire that destroys us completely, but the story here is about two people whose yearning for each other kind of bring them to life. For CSH, it is a stifled existence to a more independent and wholesome life, and for KJH it is a life of ideals and books to a practical and strong man, someone not out of touch with reality, someone who has experienced love and life, not just from books. And even though people find it extremely uncomfortable that Hye Kyo is married to Bo Gum's best friend, I think it creates a very interesting dynamic between them which, unbeknownst to them, also gets reflected in the drama, but imo, in a good way. They are totally nailing the "restrained yet poised chemistry" between two characters who seem to be an "odd" pairing in today's critical society - a boss/employee, an older woman/younger man, the rich/poor. Also, I don't get why people can be salty, personal life and work life is separate and I hate it when netizens try to mix those two. There is nothing wrong with SHK and PBG working together in a romantic drama.

You nailed it. *sobs at the beauty of their love* because both waited 8 whole years to be together despite everyone saying shit like how illegal and impossible it is. They say love can move mountains and our lovely OTP is something akin to that (metaphorically haha)

The male lead hasnt been diagnosed with any incurable disease as of yet. Its a very fun drama so far without anything too melodramatic going on. But then again we are only 20 episodes in and we have a long way to go. I would recommend you watch it because the characters are just fun to watch as they interact. And worst case scenario if the male lead does end up dying we can root for the female lead to take over the company and screw over all the annoying evil characters as a proper ending :)

I am definitely going to come back once in a while because damnit I am not ready to let go of this drama from my heart like ever

Yeah, I really wanted a scene of Akira's mom apologizing to Hijiri about blaming her family troubles on her. Yeah, Hijiri made a mistake of kissing her son when he was still 15, but she clearly apologized and even had to quit her job and leave. A relationship between an 18-year old and 28-year old is totally fine, 18 year old is an adult, and it's not absurd for college guys to date older women, so I was expecting Akira and Hijiri to be in a relationship while also going through self-growth. I don't understand why they can't be together while also growing. I DON'T like unnecessary time skips at all. The first time made sense, and we got to see both the characters and how they have changed over three years, so I thought it was perfect. But the second time skip was literally a time travel into the future, and you could tell that the writers didn't have enough source material (manga is still on-going) to give them a proper ending. Many people balance work/student/love life and it is very common, so I am a bit disappointed that the writers decided to separate them again, hinting that Hijiri and Akira need to be separated in order for Akira to finish school and Hijiri to find stable work life. Also, seriously, that mom needs to be brought to reason, why is she so stubborn?? I'm glad she made up with her son, but I don't think she did right by Akira in the end. She should have withdrawn that legal separation she filed for.

I didn't like Fukushi Sota's acting in Aishite tatte, himitsu wa aru AT ALL, but he totally immerses himself in his character as Tsutsumi here, it was really surprising lol because everyone keeps saying how bad of an actor he is

I think she just made an assumption and wanted to test Hijiri's reaction to what was said. Haraguchi is very intuitive and since the beginning she thought that even though Hijiri seems "ordinary" she has a lot of passion inside her so even though she doesnt seem like the type, she can do pretty rebellious things :D I think Haraguchi already noticed that Hijiri didn't seem as "delighted" as someone who is about to get married.

Wait so it's kidnapping not seducing a minor?!?!? I really thought it was the latter... hmm if it is kidnapping then dropping charges should just be fine, but if it has to do with something like seducing a minor idk how they will go around it. Also, I am very worried about Sensei's future as a teacher. I really REALLY want her to keep teaching and it will break my heart if she can't do that anymore

Also the reason why they had a divorce in the first place was because he was cheating on his wife?? So I don't understand why he wants her back. He already had his chance with her and screwed it up.

Yeah I wouldn't even mind them having some kind of a long distance relationship until Akira graduates uni and Hijiri has a stable teaching career. Akira can still graduate/go to work force in his twenties and marry Hijiri in her thirties, that sounds extremely realistic as a possible ending imo
