This is the problem with Asian dramas. Few dare play villain roles, because once you adopt an image, people get used to it and refuse to see anything else. That's when playing vastly different characters is essential for an actor to grow. Imo CDL is doing this well partially because she took that opportunity to grow further with TTEOTM.

These are very generalized, but I'll try. It's got a story for sure, otherwise are we all hallucinating the whole thing? lol Just kidding. It's more character based than plot based imo. I find characters interesting. Aside from FL, everyone's characters are shaped enough for me to be able to describe them. You may still find some of their actions (or lack thereof) questionable, tho. Imean with regards to scriptwriting.
To me, style over substance is only slightly true about one character (or maybe it's just their acting I can't get into. idk). And if you're really picky, you might notice random directing mistakes. The whole thing's highly stylized, tho.
There's substance but I should tell you, if you're looking for something aimed at social issues and generally informative, this is not it. This drama is something between a fable and a dream. Where there's a message or life lessen, it's shown metaphorically.
Acting-wise, for me, aside from two, everyone else is doing a good job. Specially MC and FL. I'm really enjoying their performances.
The plagiarism accusation tho, with due respect, you shouldn't even mention such things without a proof in the first place. Those who did, I saw their receipts. Looked bs to me.

P. S. 2. I at best only end up liking one Cdrama per year. This seems to be the one (so far). But I still think tastes are vastly different. One thing I can suggest is to use AI to give you an unbiased general opinion. It works for me sometimes.
