Well fl is supposed to be childish cuz she literally is a youth teen type compared to other characters who are…
Yes book 1 is finished. Book 2's adaptation must be at around ep.5 I guess.
Which ep did you stop at? Last three were rushed, besides too much made up screentime for Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue. Plus (minor spoiler) they killed off a character who had originally survived in the book while those who weren't supposed to, survived.
Asura TS, new outfits and song were great, though, which makes it all more puzzling. Why spend so much budget if you're gonna only use it for one episode.

Totally agreed. I remember a lot of people complaining about the wigs and props. But the story had a beautifully tragic feel to it. Ice Fantasy I mean. Maybe someday it'll be remade. I don't understand why they won't invest in Soul Land properly. It's apparent TJSS is an influential writer. But then again, I never figured out why they went crazy over the donghua's last 3 episodes, after they'd done pretty well in the previous 260. Tencent things I guess. sigh~

How come I've never felt this from the Xianxias I've watched? I've dropped many, yes, but I drop a lot, regardless of genre or country. They never felt childish. Yes, I did like Legend of Fei (just a heads up, it's a bit slow paced) and Alchemy of Souls, Douluo Continent was ok (not the donghua and books, though. Those are great. Good to know another fan.) I loved Ice Fantasy and read its book. Needless to say I loved Untamed, too. None of these I remember feeling specially illogical to me, even Ice Fantasy. The Journey did have its wtf moments but not like this.
Anyway, thanks for your time and kind explanation. I'll give it another go and watch more episodes to see if it gets better.

Although she looks 20-something, acts and speaks like a 10 years old and has a crush on someone she and us barely know, her master isn't any better. What's more absurd is this kid and her drunkard master are in charge of people's fates, while they have huge gatherings basically just to hear someone's report. It makes no sense. Then there's the scenery and the way the camera enters each location, like trying to bring to attention its magnificence. ‌I mean I get it's visually gorgeous but it's not like we don't know everything is mostly cgi. (I don't mean to upset anyone who loves this drama, just wanted to make sure, are all episodes like this?)
This drama has an unexpectedly high rewatch value. I find myself revisiting it often. But I have to admit, while it wasn't that apparent the first time, each new rewatch, Cha Do Ha, further pushes the limits of how much I can bear in a FL, and I can normally bear a lot without even noticing. Specially the haircut! somebody should've gone to jail for that haircut. It's like the last nail to the coffin.
Still, it's so much fun each time and if you miss watching it at least once, only because of the FL, you're missing on a lot. This is a gem, specially when you're feeling down.
I kept hearing about this and I was in the mood for wuxia, so I tried watching. First episode was so childish, I was shocked. To think how many people I consider mature recommended this to me.
Enjoyed this more than the first season despite the lacking music and some stiff performances. Ryu Kyung Soo did the best imo (Hadn't seen him before, someone please fix that.) The story was good. Sometimes "the Japanese were monsters" element was a bit too much in the face, but still adding mythological creatures from both sides was fun. Tempted to read up on those. Cinematography was great.
I can watch the two brothers (and the rest of the cast) bicker and nearly kill/save each other all year, so hoping for more seasons. Also please, less crying scenes for Lee Yeon, LDW just can't lol I also hope they hire a fight choreographer.
Look at you with dem big words! LOL After reading this article and the synopsis AND knowing it's Korean written,…
Yeah. Guess I'm getting old lol
Not sure how to explain my point without spoiling any other drama or being misunderstood.
Some writers seem to have several lifetimes of sympathy for the criminal and their family while close to none for the victim and their family. Or maybe they're simply advised to add such elements(?) It's kind of ironic because the revenge seeker often becomes a criminal too. So it's like you're a human who made a mistake if you destroy lives for greed or fun but you're a monster if you do it out of revenge for a loved one.
Then there's the childish oversimplification of some very debated matters in philosophy, morality and psychology.
Have you read "Confessions" by Minato Kanae? That for me is an example of not pushing said agenda. Or some cases in OCN dramas like "God's quiz".
It differs from person to person, if you're living in a happy environment in a place you love and have a happy…
Imagine someone calling the genuine result of your talent and hard work, which has great story and a proper ending, "sad and tragic shit" just because you didn't force it into a happy ending.
The heck are you talking about? Tencent is single handedly destroying the entire Japanese anime industry. Just…
Huh? Wdym? I never talked about quality. I'm a Soul Land fan myself. I'm talking about their scheduling and management, which is a blatant insult to everyone involved.

You're right, tho. Since it's a Korean writer, anything can happen. Better to manage my expectations.

I only hope the writer(s) doesn't try too much to push some collective conscience agenda.
