All I've waited for was for the mother to find out the truth and we never reached that pay-off. Rather than the main couple, I was rooting more for Moohyuk x a happy family with his noona and adorable nephew Galchi.
I'm sorry to say that the first part, which was essentially about *children* getting *married* creeped me out.…
That's the way it really was back in the days. People getting married at a very young age. Some royalties would even get married at the age of 9 (like Prince Sado). Anyway, even if they got married at a really young age, they wouldn't consummate their marriage until a more proper age and iirc, they even lived at different quarters.
I'm disappointed how dramas work in Korea: low rating = change of plot. In my opinion, it was very interesting,…
I don't know, I've always found the writing of the script questionable since Ep 1. From the comments here alone, it's always been a major complaint from the get go. I don't think it's the ratings that made the script worse as it went on, it's just that the writer doesn't really have a good grip of the plot that he/she initially had in mind. It's like the writer watched Cruel Intentions one Friday evening and thought it would be cool to make a Korean version of it and ended up with a very watered down, bland version of Cruel Intentions' adaptation.
YJG is too innocent tho. Well ok. Maybe he could do player, I don’t see it tho. Woo Do Hwan I can definitely…
MBC offered him another drama from the writer of Lucky Romance but his agency said it isn’t confirmed yet and it’s just one of the offers he is considering atm. He does have a variety show coming up soon though, he went to film in Thailand a few weeks back.

While I'm actually glad Jingoo didn't take the role, but I do think he can pull it off if he wants to. Here's a clip from Section TV where he recited his old lines from TMETS, and at 0:33 he made an upgrade that made me swoon really hard and I he's not even taking this seriously.. https://youtu.be/wSoLj0FdsSU?t=33s
My DVD arrived last night so I finally got to watch it with english subs. ♥ I think it's best to wait for proper…
Without the subs, I didn't know those books that burned were war books and that Gwanghae considered them his only way to fight for his country cos he knew nothing.. I just initially thought he was having a tantrum over some books..
Like during the car accident with Shihyun and Taehee. We're supposed to see Taehee's trauma based on a flashback…
I guess that makes sense. However, it's the way it was portrayed that bothers me. The show made it appear like their relationship is sincere and pure and the mom was the bad one for interfering. But then again, it's Sooji's point of view so it's probably supposed to turn out like that. What I'm trying to say is that the show just breezed through so many plot points without any focus, so scenes like that were shown very briefly but without properly fleshing out the motives for those scenes. Things are so rushed and I realize almost every scene is over before I even start to feel something for the characters.
This show has lots of potential, I'm honestly intrigued where the characters are headed in the future. Sooji here…
Like during the car accident with Shihyun and Taehee. We're supposed to see Taehee's trauma based on a flashback on the scene, but it was just done so awkwardly. The way the flashback and the present got mixed was really weird and it goes on with other scenes as well.
And is nobody gonna talk about Sooji almost hooking up with her arts teacher while she's a minor? When your student pricks her finger, is sucking up the blood on it the first thing you do to your student? And Taehee's best friend's mother... She would honestly tell some guy whom she briefly flirted with that her daughter's adopted? Like what? Why would you do that? I mean she did state her "reasoning" but it's not really believable//
This show has lots of potential, I'm honestly intrigued where the characters are headed in the future. Sooji here is a lot tamer and more fragile compared to the other versions I've seen, but I can see her going to a much more manipulative and cunning route in the future. She has a lot of chemistry with Shihyun atm. Well, I guess it's a given since they have more screen time together so far, but these two actors work really well together.
However, why do Taehee and her best friend talk like children? Taehee is supposed to be smart and can carry herself well, and the aegyo talking is just off-putting. Joy's performance is average but not terrible, definitely not as bad as her best friend.
I think the major issue here is mostly the writing and directing. The characters' relationships are certainly intriguing but the pacing is just way off. There are so many things happening that I can't get emotionally invested in any scene. The script is quite childish trying to sound mature but ultimately failing. They really need to do something about it. The main cast are doing alright so far, and the cinematography and sets are gorgeous.
