I just finished watching eps 31-32... I knew it! Something has been really off with Taehoon from earlier on. How could he even think of dating Youngin when he actually thinks he's responsible for the murder that's pinned on Haesung. And he somehow indirectly also caused Haesung's death. (EDIT: And yet Taehoon still probably isn't the culprit who killed YKC though. I only watched it raw so I tend to miss some details, but comments are saying it's got to be the lawyer since Taehoon just also found YKC dead or something along those lines..)
The end of the episode is what finally made me cry in this show... Just the way Haesung excitedly checks out if the video is working and then when he watched what he had filmed, the way the smile wiped off his face just did it for me. Ugh it really breaks me good whenever Jingoo cries. T_T We'll probably see the entire video once he's left T_T..
But that timing of how the episode ended was really off. You could tell the editing was done in a hurry. It's kinda sad that the qualityof this drama is really suffering mainly because they tend to do things in a rush: both writing and directing.
I don't know if this is intentional or not although I'm inclined to think it is... lol. The characters are always eating sweet potato and netizens use the term "sweet potato (goguma)" to say something is frustrating in context of a drama's unsolved plot, and they say they've drank a "soda" and the sweet potato's been cleared from their throat when the frustrating plot has been solved. Netizen comments about RW always mention what a goguma this drama is. And then you have characters eating sweet potatoes a lot and mention how frustrating eating goguma is. xD
It's so sad when Haesung couldn't even make a reply to Jungwon because he was trying to hide his tears. He doesn't have an idea how to open up to her that he's gonna disappear again. Can't Haesung just stay then the grandma can just adopt him. Like the grandma's appearance is so random and is just plain deus ex machina but I really enjoy their dynamic together.
This drama is disappointing at how it handles its plot, but the relationships between the characters is another thing that makes this a worthwhile drama for me. The love triangle in this drama isn't the usual kdrama trope where there's serious competition between the guys for the girl where they won't even let the girl decide who she really wants... Relationship of Haesung-Jungwon-Minjoon is out of friendship and deep care for one another. I've always enjoyed Haesung and Minjoon's brotherhood. They filled the void the other needed. Haesung never had a big brother and always had to take care of his siblings, and Minjoon was forced to pretend he didn't have a younger brother
Anyway LMAO at the scene where Hobang confesses to Jinjoo with matching, "Waiting for youuu~~" soundtrack, only to get her mad like that. At least he finally said it out loud and made Jinjoo actually consider him.
Seeing how they changed it again to 20 episodes after saying it would only be 16 episodes... I think there was scheduling issues with the next drama after this so they are forced to create further filler episodes.
I don't think this drama is intended for anything longer than 16 episodes... and now it's becoming more obvious. The writer is pushing to create unnecessary plot lines and cramming the writing on top of it all.
This is better off as a mini-series, something that's only around 12 episodes or less. It really shows that the writer is just half-baking things knowing that the sloppy writing would still be pushed through because they are live-shooting. Even the directing is obviously hurried.
I just consider this drama as a weekly dose of happy Jingoo.
It looks like Haesung is setting things up for Jungwon and Minjoon for when he leaves. I'd much rather he…
Oh you're right. I didn't realize that. I was definitely talking about the investor grandma. She is the only grandma character in the recent eps. LOL Thanks for pointing it out @Debra, the comment really got me confused. XD
It looks like Haesung is setting things up for Jungwon and Minjoon for when he leaves. I'd much rather he set things up for his siblings... his dream about a happy family with all his siblings really broke my heart. It's just a cameo but it would have been nice to see more of the grandma who took care of Haesung.
He was amazing in Monster Boy. Gave me goosebumps :)
The intensity of his acting at that scene in the hospital is still something I can't wrap my head around on. There was even a condition that he must undergo psychological counselling for Hwayi and that he was diagnosed as mentally strong.
I'm not a big fan of Yeo Jin Goo. I don't dislike him, but I don't like him that much either, at…
The Royal Gambler is a drama that shows how mature he can be when the role calls for it. They didn't even do much to make him look as if he aged other than add some beard, but I really did feel how his character grew up over the years..
When I saw their first kiss I was like "That's ....it?!?!"
I totally understood that it's supposed to be an awkward kiss and all, and that this would most likely both their first kiss... and at the same time, the director is playing it safe in case of some backlash.. but I was still hoping they'd give us a closer view of the kiss instead of wide shots with their backs turned on us. It's totally understandable if it's gonna be a simple only lips touching sort of kiss, but they really decided not to show it at all.
Potato Star was surprisingly good. It's a comedy but has a solid plot, though it started dragging out around…
I think they made it seem like he is the real son while he thinks he was pretending the entire time, but then at the end, suddenly he's not the real son after all. They made another DNA test after he left and it turned out negative. UGH I REALLY HATE THE ENDING.
how did Hae Sung get hired if he didn't have a resume or ID? well I guess he had one but he's considered…
Yup, I actually don't bother to overthink the plot nor how the characters are written anymore (even if some plot points just don't make sense lol)... and I'm just enjoying this as a light watch. It's gotten more fun when I stopped overthinking every single thing.
