the info i got from someone who has read the novel is basically, Song Mo's father was forced to marry Song Mo’s mother by Duke Ding (Song Mo’s uncle) so that the uncle could control the father. But since the father turned out to be incompetent, Duke Ding planned to pass on his title to Song Mo instead. Moreover, the father never liked the Jiang family (his wife’s family).
In addition, Song Mo grew up with his uncle, Duke Ding. Song Mo has been excellent literary and military, he is fast in learning, smart, outstanding child and gaining favor from the emperor. This made the father feel scared and envious. So, i got curious about their drama, even though i hadn’t read the synopsis or watched the trailer. It turns out, wow, the plot is great, and it’s this popular ! it was a great decision for me to watch it ! I’m so happy for them 🥰
