People are missing out if they're sleeping on this drama! Both of the main leads are so different but complement each other so well. I love Luo Jin's character. He seems almost perfect on the outside but is deeply traumatized on the inside. Sun Li's Fang Si Jin seemed selfish and strong in the beginning but is incredibly vulnerable, caring and responsible on the inside. A+ for complex and relatable characters.
I'm loving this show a lot as of episode 11. Am sad there's not more attention being paid to it.
Yay! I'm glad that other people are enjoying it as much as I do! I feel the FSJ is a really refreshing character! I'm basically on the edge of my seat anticipating what the show will reveal to me about her lol. Like, when I think she might be doing something unethical, I worry that she's not the good person I WANT her to be lol. I appreciate so much that she reflects on her actions and we get to learn more about her motivations.
I also love the group dynamics. I find every character to be very different from one another...but somehow they all manage to get along lol. Even when they don't get along, they never hate each other.
I actually tried watching the Japanese version in between releases, but I didn't like it as much. I just couldn't connect to the context or the main leads. I only watched a few episodes though, so that might be a premature judgement.
Sigh. Watched episode 28 and still don't know what the endgame might look like! It's kind of upsetting actually. Ming Yefeng and some of his kinsmen are the hottest and most interesting characters on the show. I just know too little about the shady little king and his tiger mom to sympathize with them. These days, I just fast forward to all the MYF scenes lol.
I am rooting for Chen Xuan (sp?)! When Ding Ning was like "you are so love struck" at his revenge plan, I side eyed DN. After all, the person CX is avenging is Ye Celeng. DN, my dude, it's because you didn't prioritize GSQX's feelings is why she was upset at you for like...3 episodes (lame).
Looking at the trailer, the drama does not seem really serious as the main leads are all young and immature looking.…
lol ppl who are in their 30s can still look young. I'm in my mid 30s but am constantly mistaken for being in my mid 20s. These two leads have the same type of youthful baby faces. But Ren Jialun, in particular, can have a very mature screen presence.
At this stage, between Joy of Life and Sword Dynasty, I prefer Joy of Life because of the perfect blend of story,…
i think they're quite different. i happen to be enjoying this one more for humor and the other for action. i will say that JoL has convincing motivations for it's characters' actions. i'm not sold on the revenge plot for SD yet because there are too many unresolved character relationships (like who da hell DN is...child pops outta cocoon as teen lawddddd).
The synopsis is not really accurate, but I'm liking this show. Everyone on the team is capable, and it's easy to tell them apart from one another :-). So far, the subs on youtube have been pretty quick. They cases are slightly draggy and could be condensed but I'm watching for the female team members hehe.
