Anyone else feels like this is a youth version of tomb raider chronicles? Everyone looks and feels so young. Xiao Hua is my favorite character...but he's a lil bit off? Any other Xiao Hua fans? The look of the actor is quite okay, but the voice and demeanor aren't genteel or refined enough. Is that just me being picky? All of the past Xiao Hua's have always had a special something about them that made them stand out (beyond beautiful looks). This group all looks like the popular kids in school lol. Hei Yan Jing is not good looking enough to pull off the mysterious black glasses.
I'm not saying I'm not enjoying it, but it's gonna take some time to get used to this version. The first few episodes were a wild ride lol.
Is this drama worth it ? Cause i just finishing Hikaru No Go and Alice in Borderland drama and i don't know what…
These are very different dramas. This one isn't bad and some subplots are quite moving. The leads in the show trust each other very much. It's true FL gets more vulnerable throughout the show, but in fact, she's always been a young lady whose arc was about healing from past trauma and personal growth. I don't like her that much but she's not as annoying to me as some viewers have experienced. Also, my tolerance is pretty low for stubborn troublemaking FLs lol. I dropped a couple of well received dramas because I couldn't stand FL.
I just finished this show and the last few episodes caught me off guard. Like, that one scene where SG and YL held hands while running in slow mo lol. Oh, also the black and white suits for the photo shoot. Then, the forced co-habitation. Next, the various go playing pairs. Even the lil kids with matching outfits!
After the heartbreak with Chu Ying, I basically laughed for much of the final episodes. Great show overall. The person I will miss the most is Hong He....that guy is such a good friend!
Does anyone know the singers of the opening and closing theme songs? They are both quite good. Also... did anyone else feel that Zhang Haowei's face on A Bin in episode 6 was digitized??
tried 5 episodes last night...story seems slightly too cool for me to understand lol. anybody else feel the same way? i love the genre and general idea though so any guidance for viewing is appreciated.
I started it for the cute boys. I have a question: is it supposed to be kind of campy? I mean, I suspect it should be with the exaggerated tennis moves and cartoonish characters, but I just wanna make sure. If it is, I will adjust my viewing lens lol.
I don't want to shade her but that girl can't act, at all. Maybe I'm wrong and she's just type cast because she…
sigh. unfortunately, i agree with this comment so much. i just don't get her appeal at all, especially as a romantic leading lady. there's gotta be something about the combination of her teeny face + teeny build that is appealing to some viewers tho. as for the "nation's little sister" title...i don't think i've ever seen her in a little sister role lol, maybe its in her earlier works or movies? in fact, i can totally see her as an endearing little sister. her looks are "average" but quite pleasant, like a believable kind face. her acting is not bad at all....just not buying the chemistry between her and any of her leading actors.
i came here after seeing her in prince of tennis...after successfully avoiding all her other shows lol but dang girl is hardwoking.
Loving this drama so far. I agree this is a really realistic business plot and it's clear that this is about GRADUAL…
I totally wasn't going to watch this because of the comments about Xi Xi being annoying...but she's actually not at all! I'm only a few episodes in but she's a obviously an assertive go-getter and very capable! I love this kind of FL. The chemistry between her and Ran Ran is so natural lol. I totally believe these two have known each other all their lives and are family members. Ran Ran, this character is much more realistic and down to earth than Johnny's character in Love Designer. RR is younger, greener, and very expressive. Towards XX, he's both petty and loving lol, very brother-like. I really like how it was never a question that they were on the same side. The show confronts head on their slightly awkward relationship in this phase of their lives. Both leads are quite likeable and live streaming is a super interesting topic for me. Glad I decided to tune in.
I'm dropping by to leave a comment in support of my favorite duo for onscreen chemistry: Lee Yeon x Lee Rang lololol. That snippet from the past...dang. Whatever happened to Lee Rang, it was serious and there seems to be so much trauma in this character. He's messed up, but this is a great character. I happen to fall into a similar camp as LR does: love isn't everything and family and duty are also important. But, I'm a Capricorn Moon lmaooo so that's just my opinion. OHHH! LR, wearing a red suit with his black hair, in a confrontation in the woods against LY in the blue outfit was so charismatic.
I haven't finished episode 4 yet because it got too scary so I paused it lol. wth, dude, I didn't think this show was gonna be that scary.
Just finished watching it. The show is a mish-mash of genres and got a lil draggy towards the end, but I loved it anyway lol. This is like the 2nd or 3rd time that I've seen Dai Xu in a role like this though, hoping he doesn't get stereotyped further into this kind of characterization. The most character growths and well-developed arcs belong to the supporting casts! They were just amazing! I started watching for the promise of zombies lol, but I stayed for the diverse relationships represented on the show.
I know everyone has their own opinions but I am still a bit surprised to see many people didn't like the female…
I love the FL too. iunno what show others are watching but it's FL in this show that's razor sharp, gutsy and, as you mentioned, kind. Her investigation of her parents' disappearance is the more compelling storyline for me here, and not LY's. She may be a mere mortal but she's been holding her own. I've been very impressed with her observations skills and the choices she's made so far....even the questionable reckless ones lol BUT She's a successful investigative PD after all! The character has been wonderfully consistent. I believe JBA in the role, I just hope that the show doesn't make her a damsel in distress since we're seeing more of the supernatural world.
When the last episode revealed how bitter and hurt LR was over LY's choices, I felt that was the part that added the missing depth in the ML's storyline. So far, I been unimpressed with LY lololol although LDW looks amazing. KB has been killin' it onscreen! He looks so boyish, charming, and adorable...and then dangerous at the same time.
Yu Meng Long's acting is not as robotic as in The Love Lasts Two Minds, but still pretty stiff. When Zhan Qinghong…
hahaha that's true. she's so expressive while he seems to be waiting for a cue to act. 6 episodes in and the only cute characters rn are the FL and her family members. errbody else has complicated self-interested motivations. Sigh... that's not even what's bothering me the most--it is actually because there aren't enough cute faces in the cast and onscreen.
Is it just me or is it a lil hard to tell apart the faces of the girls onscreen? They are all light-skinned with big round eyes. While watching the opening and closing, I was so confused because I thought Xing Fei was playing two roles. Just a different makeup choice would have really helped lol. I'm only on episode 2 though so maybe it's because FL's face hasn't grown on me yet. Also, I just finished Love & Redemption and happened to see Luo Hou Ji Du in episode 2 lolol
