I think Park Hae Young intentionally wrote Byeon Eun Ah in a simply an extreme form of intuition, sensitivity,…
I have a friend with a sleep disorder who can run on weird energy for days, when she does lightbulbs explode around her and streetlights dim. It happens. The emotional energy of humans is intense.
Ep9 Out of the frying pan into the fire. I am happy DongMan likes it better. There is a nice silly side to this show that lightens it up on cue. Challenging the poor loan shark to be creative!
It feels like the focus will shift to EunA for real now. Her mom and MiRan are becoming really interesting all of a sudden. What will happen?
This is really an astonishing script, I am such a happy spectator. I cant even guess what will come next.
It is really too wonderful to drag Sung Dong Il into everything. How will Dongman create a great role for him?
sat. ep24 an episode that nicely tapped into the wheel-of-fortune theme common in cataclysmic dramas, and counselled trimming, the middle way between factions. Dont know if this would have helped in the actual era, but the anti-faction message is loud and clear contemporary.
I really loved seenng JZ step up to her role as a political wife, while telling her uncle Gu his dream of advancement was nonsense. If I understood correctly earlier it was because he had not distinguished himself somehow, but she trounced him with the Yao family's position in the queue.
It is pleasant that the Gu women still have no idea of the depths of humiliation to which they will eventually be reduced. Be still, my vengeful heart6!
our FL gives the best embraces in this series.1 thing I love is their mutual affection. she actually embraces…
re women not embracing their guys -- I think things are really changing in asian drama, but C-drama is leading the way in these cute period historicals, just as it did in modern romance dramas too. I am a big kdrama fan, but the SK FL woman-imitating-a-popsicle-stick is really wearing me out even in the most entertaining shows. It should be over already!
Ep22-23 These two episodes really made me feel how fragile status could be in the Imperial world. A real Wheel-of-Fortune script. From the heights to the dungeons and back again for YanYun/Jiu Heng.
Why was YY's patron, Fu Hai Lin, indifferent as to whether he was destroyed? Our perspective on who holds real power is slowly exercised through the ranks until we arrive at the young Emperor being advised by that rascal Fu Hai Lin, but still open to Ye Xian's allegiance.
While we may have been hoping for the ultimate showdown between JZ and her paternal grandmother Madam Gu, that dispute is not swept away by events, but put in perspective. To be returned to, probably.
Lian, JZ' cousin, proves to be one of those girls who has a hidden but fundamental stupidity -- she thinks the world revolves around her. She makes us realize, by contrast, by just how much JZ is always keenly aware of the social and economic structures in which she lives.
When I first met JZ I called her a brat. But she is a very finely written brat, full of nuance balanced by reasoned passion.
Has someone kept track of how many times YanYun has proposed/confessed to JZ, up to the end of 21 already? and how many times he has asked her if she has thought about the proposal?
Why do people keep saying they are 'waiting' for the proposal? Do they mean the formal letters to the families?
Is it all the fastforwarders ? How much are they actually watching of the show at all, if they have missed even the few moments they care about, once or twice or three times already?
So utterly sick of synopses and spoilers and novel-readers. Oh well, I guess some people find their fun that way. They feel like they know something others dont, yet, and have to show off about it.
Ep21 "when I pick out a shop for business I have to look it over a few times..." I had no idea what the spoilers were talking about -- so it didnt spoil the surprise! JZ is such a funny, stubborn, practical person! One kiss isnt enough! Good for her! Let her see his account books first!
i haven't read the novel so I'm really just making up theories
imo, making up theories is what the comment pages are for, among other things! It is all about fun, and nothing better than wondering what the screenwriter has up her sleeve(s). To heck with the gloomy novel-readers.
Ep20 I knew it! Now a clever girl interested in the martial arts has shown up for our Ye Xian.
It isnt clear whether he will become a villain in the next court struggle, but this makes it all more interesting.
If YanYun splits from his Master, then ye Xian, if involved with Qing Lan, will remain sort of on the other side. Given his mercurial and volatile nature, he will probably complicate matters.

So we see that JinZhao does actually like politics -- since politics is much like household management.
She loves knowing all the dirt/history, and listening to YanYun's stories
Maybe this is about IP, just an overly elaborate legal clause for protection.
