While that was the most painful divorce I have seen so far in cdrama, it did seem awfully easy to do and thus…
I found it interesting. The history of women is written in that sort of record, divorce papers, rental agreements, home ownership. A good plot for me uses that. But I would not throw out 'divorce' completely as a topic or as a plot device the way you seem to be suggesting. Even if it did have personal resonance. I am here for good theatre not for noisy catharsis.

Actually this is a good albeit terrifying article.

The fan clubs want to run the industry. Who are these people? Are they even people? Are they criminal blackmailers arming an ai army , and/or manipulating fan armies for cash behind the scenes? There is a problem but the fan clubs clout is not the solution.

The clout that these fan clubs have been allowed to have has been in fact a form of collaboration/exploitation/in some cases abusive manipulation of/with/by the agencies of individual actors and the actual promoters of each piece.

The CCP in fact is now making noises about bringing some measure of control into what is a completely crazy and scary situation. But governments and art do not mix well historically. There seems to be a special arm of the police to enforce any new regulations.

Cautiously, something should be done. Who is the regulatory authority? Is there one? But these questions are beyond the scope of our website.

Ep7
really very cute. Done in a low key naturalism -- two late teens watch a movie with unexpected semi-nudity. So adorable -- pretending each one is more sophisticated than the other and quietly squirming inside.
Good script, the introduction of the disc of The Titanic is very natutral and the whole frame of begininng jealousy is very efficiently constructed.

I really loved Song Weilong with short hair, maube its the novelty but I thought he looked incredibly handsome. And not so closed-off.

Title Love for You
Ep5
Very non-fluffy.
Actually a bit of a weeper. These kids have it so rough. It is very touching really.
I am starting to really like it.
The storytelling rhythm is different to what I have been watching lately. A longer build up of misfortune -- not just to establish character, I think, more to establish the reality of a place and time..

Hi there,

Now you are downplaying your data...when earlier you were up-playing the position of some cdramas on netflix by confusing the GLOBAL list (which includes english language shows) and the non-english "global" list.

So now you are downplaying the ratings of kdramas?
Agent Kim has been consistently rated in the top ten GLOBALLY, not just in the non-english categories. For the last week its average standing has been between #3-#4 in the GLOBAL TOP TEN on Flixpatrol. As in fact also have Teach You A Lesson and several other shows lately. A few Kdramas each month consistently rate in the top ten globally, doing well up against American or European productions.

Cdramas do not. Or at least not as well as kdramas.
Cdramas so far tend to run in the teens and 20s worldwide, so although they do well against other non-english productions, they do not stand up well against English-language shows -- and the reasons do not have to do with quality but with local tastes in different areas of the world where netflix has most of its subscribers.

The reason they do not rate as well on the global indices is that kdrama is truly beloved in Spanish-speaking countries (the absurdist aesthetic is congruent with the same locally) and the Middle East, places where cdrama just doesnt register, yet.

I put off watching the last episode as long as a I could. But now, now it is over.
A magnificently intellectual, political ending. Great writing,

Love For You also dropped on viki. This xianxia is cute but I really would prefer to see SWL in a modern. He is so toasty and dark. He would be a great lonewolf character maybe. So I am dropping this confection for now. Back on some long winter evening!

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
Ep39
The Ride of Princess Ding.
Epic. To see her cantering into the temporary camp with her robes flowing about her.

Signifying something that cant be put into words. She is restless and her life in the Capital holds no meaning for her.

The character of YeLi is a great one for BaiLu.
She cannot often put into words what she wants but when she knows she leaps forward like an arrow from the string.

Title The First Jasmine Spoiler
ep39

BaiLu really shines in this episode. She can show her true heroine face, fight with the best of them, and we see the real power couple reunite as she and Yao turn back Mo Jing Li's attack on the very steps of the palace.

I admire BaiLu always. I want to be like her: so beautiful, so compassionate, with a ramrod straight back and that beautiful face. But as an actress she is more comfortable in action shows, being a heroine. She does not make conversation well, she has little nuance in response and reaction. Therefore in this show her best episodes are those where she works with a more skilled actor.

The scenes with the Dowager in the last 2 episodes, the scenes with Mo XIU Yao in the central portion of their romance and then in the great climaxes of their divorce and the trip to LiMountain. BaiLu wept beautifully in those episodes and showed carefully nuanced fear and uncertainty at Lishan. She really stretched herself and did well.

But now at the end, her character takes on the grand stances of BaiLu herself, she relaxes back into herself, with our beautiful Cheng Lei/Yao there to put the period at the end of each sequence.

Starting Ep1 on viki rakuten
This is cute!

Erg. Forgot about the boredom of Xianxia battles. Hand held out stiffly in your opponent's direction, setlle back on your heels and then FREEZE -- lighting effects and that awful long grunt of painful constipation.

At least these days they mix it up with proper fighting...but still.
