Here is an open call on one point of confusion from an on-air viewer, for whom the opening episodes occurred a week and a half ago mostly.

Can anybody tell me how the time line of Ye Li's past actions went just before and after her mom was murdered in a temple at the foot of Li Mountain?

When did the young girl Ye Li meet the handsome soldier in the street and get rescued from the confusion? Before, obviously.

When did Ye Li happily look for Xiu Yao outside of the capital city, but find his camp deserted? Again, before? (she happily was carrying a present and appeared cheerful) Or maybe shortly after her Mom was murdered, but before the consequences of her Mom's actions occurred?

Visiting Yao's older brother just before he was publically executed, giving him a drink of water, delivering her mother's apologies and asking him for final wishes? Surely after her Mom died , but before Ye Li entered Lishan?

Chasing after Yao while he was being taken to prison in a cart and handing him the pastries. Likewise.

So by my reckoning she did all these things but entered Lishan just before it was closed to the outside world. She had nowhere to go in the capitol? Her grandfather was her only refuge/where her Mom had told her to go?

The politics are only background context in this story but I wish they were a little clearer timewise.

Y'all. Think for a minute. Thousands of scripts are being promoted/evaluated right now. Literally thousands in China and korea and thailand and japan. Writers are desperately writing and looking for fresh angles or not! Currently successful plots will be reused over and over again. Any historian of literature will tell you that this sort of compost heap is precisely where great literature and theatre is produced, but you might miss it if you blink in all this chaos. Imitation and recombination are at the very heart of cfreation and of commercial success. WITHOUT THE MONEY THE ART DOESNT GET MADE.

I am not sure about #15. Although I am not certain either, the Dowager is definitely the enemy of Prince Mo Jing Li. She cancels Ye Li's marriage bec Ye li's mom was her sister (or 'sister' on Lishan Mountain) so she doesnt want to link Ye Li to Mo Jing Li, and because she feels badly about the whole edict/crippled leg thing around Mo Xiu Wen. Ye Wen Hua, because he is a total dummy, may have arranged to pick up the rebel Prince for Ye Ying, but if the Dowager had anything to do with that it is pure malice on her part.

I am incredibly impressed by Cheng Lei's acting. He had to carry the emotional ball i n so many scenes so many times in the earlier episodes and he did a lot of it with his eyes. I was able to supply imaginary internakl monolgues when I watched him.

BaiLu's character was so frozen and mysterious, in between sudden bouts of reversion to an also unexplained vulnerability. Now we find out she is severely traumatized. The husband didnt notice at first because she was also so monumentally competent. And he was such an emotional mess to begin with.

This summer looks like a more intense hurly burly than usual; where different casts work hard in shows with similiar plots in Cdrama ansd Kdrama. We will all be cheering for our favorites probably.
Mine is Lee Sang Yi. So handsome. A great actor in ensemble so far, careful and able to project when needed. Wish him the best.

The title put me off a bit, but it sounds better when PEB talks about it.

Chen Xing Xu was delicious as a broody ML in Love Between Lines. Looking forward to him as well.

I thought Guan Xiao Tong displayed great delicacy and control in Dazzling despite it being yet another youth role. I have been looking to see what she will do next. Wrote this one down to wait for.
