The longer they drag out this secret the more convinced am I that we're in for the standard hasty break up and reunion where the fall out of the secret isn't properly dealt with. But I'm only up to episode 5 so I guess I'll see.
I don't hate that her dead boyfriend is a jerk but I also think it would be really out of the box if, for once, a character's dead spouse or boyfriend didn't end up being a cheating asshole.
I think drama's are allergic to the idea that someone can love more than one person in their lifetime and so they have to malign any former lovers. Drama's like to sell the idea of a one true fated love so I get why this is a common trope but I'd love more dramas that didn't fall into this pit.
Well jtbc is cable channel actually, but for prime time friday slot it is performing bad, especially since they…
This Friday only timeslot seems pretty new for JTBC and none of the dramas in it have done particularly well. Nice Guy has the best rating of the 4 listed on wikipedia at 2.4%.
I know her trauma isn't all about the dead boyfriend and that it's compounded with her parents dying. But there's something so tragic about this woman completely shutting down over a man who she didn't know was treating her like crap. I'm only on episode 2 but I wonder if Chan is realizing by pretending to be the boyfriend (which I assume happened when they switched laptops) he likely ended up making it worse. Because without his interference she probably would have figured out that her Chan was a douche.
I have really enjoyed what I watched so far but waiting for that shoe to drop...... At least I started this near when it was ending so I can just binge on through lol
sadly there's a limit on the blocklist of 100 people and I met that a while ago >.> Pretty much every second…
Yeah I used to really like engaging in the comment section, even the folks that didn't really vibe with a drama were generating fun discussions. Now it feels like a lot of hate and misogyny tbqh.
just curious- did this show get featured on an incel page or something? I really don’t get this comment section.Anyways,…
sadly there's a limit on the blocklist of 100 people and I met that a while ago >.> Pretty much every second chance romance drama has comments like this. I started blocking anyone using the word simp a few dramas back.
Episode 5 question. Can someone explain what the argument was about between the woman Eun-ah was house sitting…
The guy is the man So Hyeon (Dad's wife) was seeing (saved in Eun Ah's phone as Unit 610, I think). Unsure how Eun Ah becomes friends with him (as of where I am in episode 5 anyway). She freaks out because she finds out the step-daughter of her husband's ex has been house sitting for them and I guess So Hyeon did a number on him. But I she must have talked it out with her husband and patched things up.
So she knows SML for 10 years as well, but only dated him for the last 3 months right before she got reunited…
I'm only up to part way through episode 5 but I was under the impression she didn't date him at all. He literally says, at least in the English subtitles on Netflix, "why be on a break when we weren't even a thing?" Sure she tells Tae Seo she's with someone or in the middle of breaking up with someone but she could be lying to create distance between them (again haven't seen all of 5 or any of 6 yet). I assumed they were business partners and from their conversation in episode 4 they were bought out or got into some crappy deal and now there's a lawsuit or something.
I have a question for those who are hardened veterans of MDL. How does this platform come up with its rating?…
MDL is pretty tight lipped about the algorithm and how it works to cut down on people trying to manipulate it. But as far as I know adding your age to your profile isn't mandatory so it's likely those numbers don't reflect the total number of ratings, just the percentage of them that have their age recorded. Also highly likely it uses some kind of weighted average.
The father's character seems inconsistent. The way he's shown to love and care for bom doesn't go with him asking…
I don't think so, just because he's a loving father doesn't mean he can't hurt her or mess up. I actually think that's much more human. Having her Dad unconditionally support her while her Mom plays the bad guy would have felt too black and white.
As much as I enjoyed everything about this, don't get me wrong, I find myself also wanting a more serious retelling of it?
I don't want this story to change but give me like a fanfic that goes more into the trauma both characters faced and the healing of those wounds or something, lol. Bom being stalked and harassed by a man really got downplayed for the sake of the comedy - which I expected and I'm not mad about. But I just keep thinking what if we explored that deeper!
Oh these two and their communication issues! Not as frustrating as some dramas, they do at least talk to one another. But him not telling her he was working with his ex is gonna come back to bite him - and is probably something he should have thought to at least mention. And then Rin with her "doesn't he care if I leave" leap to conclusions when all he said was "let's try to make this work even if we end up long distance".
This seems to be the pattern with them, he's kind of inconsiderate - well not inconsiderate? But he simply doesn't think certain things are important communication wise that end up being important to Rin. And because those things aren't on his radar Rin then twists everything in the worst possible way.
Oh my god, I just realized, they're my parents.....
