So final thoughts. Visually stunning, great acting,. The story dragged a bit in the middle and I found myself skipping parts of episode 9 and 10. Maybe I was too ambitious with binge watching over the weekend/snow day. The DID part was, unfortunately as expected, used as a quirky plot point but I didn't feel like the work to heal from that was well explored. Unless it happened in the parts I fast forwarded through. I mean she's having a nervous breakdown??? She goes to see her mom and we never see that conversation, she comes back whole and healed apparently and the separation feels manufactured for the heck of it.
Overall I enjoyed it, going in knowing it's a psychological romance rather than a romcom is key. (If they actually advertised the mental health stuff prior to airing I missed it).
Did he say that to Mom or to Bom? I can't remember this conversation. But he was always there as her mother's spy. If anything his respect for her privacy was self-serving from the start.
Glad you gave it a shot, I remember the moment the drama dropped, within 5 hours there were some people who ran…
Honestly the pre-release summary and trailers gave a very different view of the drama. And when the spoilers came out about the dual personality plot it really didn't sound like my thing. I was expecting a romcom and the psychological part wasn't what I thought I was signing up for. But I gave myself some time to let go my previous expectations and decided to give it a shot with the spoilers in mind.
Turns out with proper expectations set, it's a good drama so far. I don't even blame the post-release comments, the trailers I saw set very different expectations than what the drama delivers. And the summary was very bare bones for a good while there.
The post-release spoilers actually helped in my case because had I gone into this with my original thinking - that this was some The Package esque romcom, I would have been disappointed with it. But the spoilers put the drama in it's proper context. And after some space to let my original thoughts fade, the first 4 episodes have been great.
Originally I had the complete wrong expectations for this show and after it came out and reviews came in I was like "huh, doesn't sound like what I was expecting, I'll give it a pass for now."
So with some time to let my expectations fade away and coming into it with a better understanding of what the plot actually is, rather than what I thought it would be, the first 3 episodes are delightful. I love that he knows about her issues from the start. I love their conversations and how there's no misunderstandings or miscommunication between them, at least not yet, and I hope that continues.
So far I'm liking it a lot and I'm glad I gave it a shot.
It's okay, I'm on episode 2. I like the storyline of the FL but the ML is annoying. I'm sick of these characters…
What dramas are you watching that have leads written like this?? His strength is exaggerated for comedic effect, I can't think of another drama that's done this.
After reading the comments it feels like I'm the only person who likes Se Jin😅 But still I'm not gonna give…
I like her too and the hate for her is a bit surprising. Like the biggest issue is she not nice to Han Gyeol when he approaches her, other than that she hasn't done anything meddlesome or scheming.
But I hated the villain in Typhoon Family so much I had to skip his scenes so I guess sometimes characters just irrationally annoy us for no reason.
Okay started episode 1 yesterday but financial crime (financial anything really) is not my thing, do I power through the set up or is a general liking and/or understanding of finance stuff kind of a prereq? Lol.
Kim Jae Yeong doing that little smiley scrunchie face while she's trying to buy merch has completely erased whatever disappointment I had in episode 11. As a murder mystery the resolution was lacking, as a romance I'm sold.
