yep the ending is the reason i rated it 8.5 instead of 10. It's one of the funniest comedies I've ever watched, but the ending was so confusing and depressing it was akin to deflating a balloon.
I just can't with this drama anymore. Five episodes are enough for me. This is one of the most tedious stories I've ever come across with ridiculous writing and a bunch of scenarios that weren't sexy as much as they were out of this world stupid and hard to defend.
I thought it was a great drama! I thought the story was much better than Eternal Love and The Pillow Book. I feel…
Agreed about Eternal Love, hard disagree about ELOD. Unless you're a huge Diliraba x Vengo Gao fan or a big Pillow Book webnovel fan, ELOD is really hard to watch, especially in the beginning. I've tried and failed 3 times to watch it all the way through. Love and Destiny is far more comparable to Eternal Love, which isn't suprising considering its from the same production team. Having said that, I'm glad you enjoyed ELOD, it'd be a boring world if we all liked the same stuff.
Love of Thousand Years is another xianxia. Great story but not well executed. A few well executed rom coms: Under…
I haven't watched it yet, but have you tried Journey of Flower? I'm not sure if it has a mortal trial, but I think it has several of the same tropes found in the dramas you listed.
This drama has given me an even bigger drama hangover than TMOPB and that's saying something. The first arc is a bit slow for sure, especially episodes 4 through 14, but it really takes off after that, so if you manage to stick with it, it's immensely rewarding. The leads sizzle with realism and their chemistry is so strong it's electric, but the entire cast is also amazing. I particularly loved Siming and Shisan. Everything about the production, from CGI to costumes, sets, characterization, directing, editing and writing is beautifully done. This is the first time that a God of War truly looks and acts the part convincingly. I get tingles just thinking about Jiu Chen and Ling Xi's love story. I recommend this drama all the way.
Hoo boy, I'm glad I didn't read any reviews before I started this drama. Just looking at this comment section it's clear a ton of people disliked it, whether for not sticking close enough to the source material or some other reason related to the production value. However, I was blown away by how much I loved this drama right from the get go. I'm usually extremely picky, but somehow this hit just the right note with me. The chemistry between the leads is really strong and what carries the entire drama. Yes, Angelababy has that weird creepy expression on her face half the time, but I actually found that endearing. She came off as a very unusual woman for her time, practically a weirdo, and I love odd characters like that.
Wallace Chung was super swoon-worthy as Chu Bei Jie. Holy crap, I fell completely head over heels for him. Every little thing he did would make me melt so it was easy to understand Ping Ting's love for him. And despite people complaining about CGI and other aspects, I actually thought the cinematography was gorgeous, especially during the first half.
And that's my one problem with this drama. The first half is absolutely amazing, but the second half starts dragging pretty fast, to the point where I actually started watching at double speed just to get through a ton of filler. The first half does the romance so well though, I'm glad I took the time to watch this behemoth of a drama. I would recommend this in a heartbeat if you're looking for a very romantic plot. Bei Jie is up there with Ye Hua from Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms as my favorite male protagonists.
I just noticed this series was deleted entirely from the official Youtube channel. I can't believe they'd do that, with how popular it is and the massive number of views. It's such a pity...I really wanted to rewatch parts of it. All full episodes are gone.
Okay, Chinese Drama Industry really needs to sorted. They release trailer months or even a year before the actual…
Not only that, but once they have an air date, they’ll suddenly announce it’s being postponed indefinitely with just two days left to go. It’s beyond infuriating at times.
