Eh, Ray also jumped at it knowing Mew would never love him. Trust me he knows. He wouldn't be sniffing after Sand if he really thought Mew could love him back - it's depressing, but true.

I sympathize with parts of Ray, but the way some people carry on about him you'd think he never did a thing wrong in his entire life (not necessarily you). It genuinely makes me want to scream the way hardcore Ray apologists will try to make everyone else the problem.

They all suck. Even Sand. Every last one of them is a mess and none of them have their shit together and all of them do stupid things and fall for the wrong people and want to believe they're better than they are.

I think endgame likelihood is TopMew for sure, BostonNick unlikely and SandRay right out. Think about it. Only Top and Mew had a fight early enough that they could conceivably work through it by the end of the show. Boston and Nick maybe, just maybe, but they're also going to have to navigate Boston not being inclined towards monogamy with Nick's desire to be his one and only. I think they can do it, but it really depends on when they start talking again.

Ray and Sand, on the other hand, have the kind of fighting still to do that has Sand curled up on the floor screaming his heart out and crying. No way they're coming back from that, in my opinion. Plus we don't even know if Ray intends to break it off with Mew, or if it does break off that he'll actually focus on Sand or just continue the cycle of keeping him as Mr. Second.

ETA: Man if I turn out to be wrong here I expect a lot of people will be telling me so. Don't worry, I'm capable of admitting when I've got things wrong. I'll totally admit it. :D

Hm, well I don't know if I'd go right to fucked up - a lot of us have been in that vulnerable place that Mew is in, and it makes sense to me that he's rebounding towards someone that he feels he should care for since Ray loves him so much and has always treated him like he walks on water. But he's also rebounding at Ray, in my opinion, because he knows that he never will feel that way about him. Now the show might decide to change that at some point, but at least for now that's how I read it.

And Top and Cheum being unable to see that Mew is a grown man making his own choices isn't really Mew's fault - he has tried to tell them that he's doing all of this of his own free will, they just refuse to listen. It's not Ray's fault there either, and if anything Mew should have scored his drugs and alcohol literally anywhere else and with anyone else. That's the real misstep.

I think we're stuck with it. It's really dragging the show down for me, and I don't even ship any of it. I'd be just as happy if Ray and Mew decided to actually settle down properly and Ray stopped giving Sand false hope as I would be if they broke up. Actually happier, probably, because then Sand could start moving on (possibly with a character played by Mix a person can dream).

I am not optimistic, but I would throw a party if Sand was the cause of the big trailer fight (and it's not somehow about Mew please jesus save us all). Let my boy be the messy one for once.

Lol yes my top three shifts a little (one time even Ray made the top three - I know, it was weird for me too), but Boston and Sand are the most reliably there. Lately it's been Sand, Boston, and Mew though.

No but seriously. Just once I'd like to see Ray trying and have Sand screw it up. I don't think that it will go that way, but I can't tell you how much I wish it would.

I don't think that they're going for a demon Ray/angel Sand agenda though. I think it's more like Sand's in love with Ray, Ray is in love with Mew, so Sand keeps getting hurt dynamic. He was an entire ass to Sand a couple of times - the end of ep 6 when he called him a whore (twice!) and at the party this ep - but on the whole he's done nothing wrong by loving Mew and prioritizing him over Sand.

I just think that's gonna continue, and Sand will have to decide when enough is enough. But man the way I'd celebrate if Sand fucked something up, lol.

Or fight, but not seriously (sorry I love fighting about characters I will do it all day but I'm rarely heated over it).

He's not my favorite (that would be Sand my beloved), but he's consistently in my top 3. I love him.

Eh, I'm not worried about Sand. I fully believe if it goes bad one more time (and I think we all know it will) he'll do the thing he needs to do for himself. I was worried about him for a while and I want him to want better for himself, but he deserves to shoot his shot if that's what he wants. He's young, and the best time to make mistakes in love is when you're young. And he's already shown that he's capable of walking away if he has to.

Ray isn't in love with Sand at all imo. I think he just likes the attention. But that's still Sand's lesson to learn. I think most of us have been there at one point or another - into someone who only gives you the time of day when they're bored, etc. He'll learn, and maybe next time he won't throw his heart away so easily. Or maybe he will who knows, there are people who never stop loving easily out there.

And this might shock some people since i am not shy about my dislike for the character, but of course Ray deserves love. Everyone does. And I hope that when he fucks things up with Sand that he still has at least Mew to be there for him - as a friend, because lbr unless it's maybe years down the road that man will never be in love with him. But that's fine. The love of friends can be just as satisfying.

There's nothing wrong with not seeing it. People keep telling me that Ray loves Sand and I have yet to believe it, lol.

Personally though, if I hadn't already thought so (I did, there's no way Mew'd be losing it quite this spectacularly if he wasn't in love imo), I would have after the kitchen scene in ep 8. Yeah, he has it bad. But again, not everyone will see that and that's okay. And while I like to maintain that they were on a break (Friends fans you know what's up), I also think not everyone will think like that. Mew certainly doesn't. He might decide to forgive or he might not. No way to tell right now.

As for Sand...sometimes it just happens. If love were logical or we only loved those who deserved it then Mew would be able to love Ray because up until last ep he never treated him badly ever (and he has no clue that Ray's been nonstop sniffing around Sand in spite of them dating - yet). But he can't. Because you can't force it where it just isn't. But you also can't stop it once it starts. Sand's gonna have to ride this ride until the end, unfortunately.

I think TopMew almost definitely, BostonNIck and SandRay nope.

They gave TopMew all the time in the world to come back from the betrayal, whereas the other two - okay Nick and Boston maybe, but Ray and Sand have a whole giant fight to get to yet so they're screwed.

Yeah I don't like those either. I think I love Boston so much because he's a guaranteed shit stirrer and I do love that. Like my favorite part of ep five was him dropping bombs into the middle of poor Sand's little fantasy. I am a horrible person, I know. Still, fun. 👿

Oof that's hard. I really love episode 6 for Sand and how cold he got and the whole Top and Sand scene because I think they should make out. I also really enjoyed Ray's rant right up until he called Sand a whore and then decided to drunk drive. And the end! My gosh that was great. Mew MVP goals.

But then I really loved episode 8 too because Sand standing up for himself and the little run Ray did at him and 2nd Freddie (that was comedy guys I don't care) and Mew looking like he wishes he were dead every time Ray tries to initiate the boyfriendly kind of intimacy only to kiss Ray the second he could use it against Top (also hilarious I'm not sorry). And Boston Bostoning and every scene with Mew and Top (sorry I ship it but I'm not really sorry because I love it when shows manage to win me around). I also really liked Sand giving all the hugs but it also made me very sad because who's giving *Sand* any sort of comfort? My poor guy is just dealing with all his shit by himself AND everyone else's to boot. 😭😭😭

Yes I do too. Sand is my utter favorite I support him even when I think he's being an idiot.

And I also agree that the need have the favorite be without fault is exhausting. It's actually fine if your favorite is the messiest in the messy gay show.

I've liked Top for a while - imo he was never really that bad haha. But yeah, people are still trying to hate on him and say he's awful and I'm just like...what show are you watching? The Ray Show. It's The Ray Show.

Nah, they gave Top something of a sad backstory and people still insist he's worse than Ray AND Boston.

Oh yeah the shipping is definitely mostly because of the actors. But also probably because Sand has become the Designated Support Character. They don't care that every time they interact a little more of the light leaves him. His job is to be there to support Ray, not be happy or healthy.

I think that's 90% of it. Also he's got the tragic backstory.

And by this point there are people who will defend or excuse anything he does, even murder because they're so used to doing it. They're so used to blaming everyone else for his problems that they just keep doing it, lol.

It makes me shake my head a little, but also...I will probably find a way to do this for Sand too, so stones and glass houses, etc. 😂
