IDK I think they left enough wiggle room for Top that he and Mew can still work it out. People keep saying that if they do it once they'll do it again but eh, not necessarily and also this is fiction. But in real life people decide to work through this kind of thing all the time, it's really not that novel.

we'll see if these two do, but I can definitely see a way forward for them and in fact they're the one couple I currently think has a solid chance of making it, if any (even though I still root for BostonNick lol)

I actually think they're setting Ray up to be the "bad guy" now - I don't think his attempts to have both Mew and Sand are over by a long shot. But since Sand's made it clear he won't tolerate it he'll have to resort to full on lying...

I agree that he doesn't care whether or not Mew really likes him. Boston had him entirely pegged - it was never once about Top treating Mew right, it was about Top having Mew at all when Ray saw him first. And now that he has him what does he do? Go skittering back to Sand to get his mistress back even as he cuddles up to Mew at every opportunity. Blergh.

This was First's ep no doubt. I was so proud of Sand this ep even though I know it's all gonna go to hell in a handbasket next week.

Ray is using Sand. He is using Mew too but he's very much only using one of them on purpose.

This this this. I wish Ray and everyone else would start putting blame where it's deserved when it comes to the wreck that is his life.

And extremely uncharitably I think Ray's gonna do a two timing thing, Sand's gonna find out and spill those beans to Mew, and Ray is gonna do what Ray does - blame everyone else for messes he created. With plenty of assistance from fandom I'm sure.

Because it's not Ray. Like everyone is so focused on Ray that they're forgetting Sand is a whole ass human being that Ray seems intent on draining of all life like a vampire. It's starting to work my nerves.

No, sorry. Ray is using Mew's vulnerability to worm his way in. He does not care that Mew is rebounding at him, he just wants what he wants. And now he's either trying to double dip with Sand (HILARIOUS considering what broke Mew and Top up was something fairly similar), or he's deliberately trying to keep Sand on the hook so that when Mew wises up (as Ray has to suspect he will), he still has someone to go to after.

There's no excuse for that. I wish people would stop acting like Ray's trauma is a get out of being a total asshole free card.

I have a feeling we're getting a s2, but I won't be here for it lol. No interest. I don't even care if it ends on a cliffhanger. THey should be able to tell a story that wraps up in a place where if there is no second season then it's still okay, and if they couldn't do that then I doubt they'll manage it with more time.

(thinking something like Midnight Museum here. Yes it ended with a stinger that could lead to a S2 but even if S2 never materializes it was still an ending that felt like one)

Yeah I am pretty over him and his whole deal at this point, and I am frankly getting sick of the Sand vs Mew stuff going on, like this is a cage match for Ray's affections and there can only be one.

WHY. Ray is such a loser if anything these dudes should date each other and leave him well out of it. I understand addiction but it's like people think that it's an excuse for every selfish act Ray pulls and it just isn't. And frankly yes, Sand does well with him where no one else does but the truth is Sand just hasn't been around long enough for Ray to drain him dry the way he has everyone else. Literally everyone else in Ray's life has the same reaction to him - weary exhaustion - and I think that is more telling than anything.

In a way I am glad that it seems we're diving more into just how selfish and shitty he is but I think they took too long with it. Because if they intend to have him change I'm just not gonna buy it. I do feel validated though because I've been clocking his shittiness since day one lol.

And yeah, everyone keeps going on about how sad it is that Mew is clearly using him as a rebound but I'm just like. He's doing *exactly what Boston said he'd do*, he's taking advantage of his friend when he's most vulnerable to finally get this chance that he thinks he deserves (he super doesn't - this is Nice Guy thinking if ever there was Nice Guy thinking) and he's not thinking about Mew. It's never been about Mew. It's been about Ray and how Ray thinks Mew should feel about *him*.

But yes the way that twitter and to a lesser extent tumblr keep excusing his actions and vilifying his friends works my nerves. And the fact that the show keeps rewarding him in a sense whenever he starts his bullshit just makes it worse. I know, I know, it's more true to life blah blah, but come ON my friends the show has punished literally every other character for their actions by now. So don't try that with me. The one thing that has been consistent with this show is actions having direct, painful consequences...unless you're Ray. He better be getting a reality check soon.

Sorry for the rant but I have reached my limit with this dude.

Has Ray ever had any real consequences for his actions at all in the entire series as of yet?

Like real consequences. Something he's actually suffered for. I feel like every other character has crashed and burned but Ray keeps getting off and it's starting to annoy me.

(is this because I'm still seething over the episode 8 preview? Maybe shhh)
