Ex hasn't appeared yet and already has such an impact on the story. Him being taken away by Top, as the main reason…
NO. Mew needs to go after *Sand* to really rub it all in everyone's face.
I don't think that the ex would do much to Top. But Sand, who Top thinks so little of? Now *that* would be good.
I am suspecting they'll use the ex for more MewTop drama though, which is depressing. i want more Sand drama we already have Ray if we want to use a third dude to cause problems with Mew and Top (I know it's Mew's story but hey, I live in hope).
At this point, I have rewatched all episodes and have read most of the comments on here. I would really like to…
I think it's the crossed fingers in the poster. That's what did it for me. I still don't know why they're crossed...although now that I think about it it would be really funny if they were just crossed because he's hoping that his gamble on Top works out (although my mind is still on telling fibs).
Unless we're being manipulated as an audience via the narration I don't think Mew's done anything truly manipulative yet. I refuse to buy into the idea he and Ray slept together and that's literally the only thing that's really been called into question at this point.
So yes. I take back my manipulative Mew agenda. At least, the Mew was manipulating everyone the whole time bit. I think he's gonna dabble a little in being an evil mastermind starting next ep. :D
Apparently this is a hot take, but I find him the least awful of the group. I'm starting to root for him really…
I'm sorry, I wasn't talking about you but myself. *I* am not going to pretend that Top hasn't done anything wrong. I personally don't care if you do. I'll just ignore it the way I try to ignore most things that rub me the wrong way.
I think I hit a nerve with you with my post, which wasn't my intention. I prefer to not think of it as who is "better" than anyone else because it's not fun for me personally to argue over who is the greenest flag or whatever, I hate the concept. I think people in general are way too apt to think in black and white morality as it is, and in a show like this it frustrates me deeply. They're people, every one of them is going to have their good and bad points. Even the ones that we all personally don't resonate with for whatever reason. And pitting them against each other as if it's a race and only one can win just frustrates me to no end.
And sure, I have my characters I don't like. Well, one, actually. And half of it is the way they're excused every little thing they do while people hold every other character to a higher standard. And I'm really really tired of the passive aggressive lecturing about how we need to understand them when they themselves are not trying to understand anyone who isn't nice to that character specifically. But here's the fun part - such is perception that the character I am speaking of probably isn't the one that came to your mind while reading it.
As to your last point, I have been thinking about that lately because I don't think it's as simple as an actor crying prettily (although I DO think that actor bias can play into it. Would what Sand did this episode make people angrier if he wasn't played by First? Would Ray's destruction become less palatable if he weren't played by Khaotung? Is the reason people dislike Top or Mew so much because they didn't like them in previous dramas and have thus decided they can't act? Would people think Nick was a soft smol bean if he weren't being played by Mark? No way to tell). I think it also has to do with the nature of the BL beast - people treat TharnType as a romantic story even when Tharn is SAing Type because that's how it's presented in the show, whereas cheating is almost always presented as an awful thing to do to someone.
I am not a fan of cheating, but I wouldn't be mad at Top myself for the sex, so maybe I'm just wired differently myself. I would blame him for sleeping with my friend though. And I'd blame him for not telling me about it because he knew that I wouldn't like it. I'd blame him for trying to lie about it when confronted. I don't think he's the worst though. Then again I don't think that about any character here, I am more apt to think of it in a "wow I really can't stand this guy" way than a "wow this guy is the most morally corrupt." But then again Boston is one of my faves so maybe that has something to do with it. 😁
Disclaimer: this isn't shots at anyone here, it's just some stuff I've been pondering of late. Honestly I've had a lot worse times here than on this page, and I've been finding a lot of the discussions about this show refreshing and fun. But there are places on the internet that are like wading into a war zone when discussing this show, and this is more a reflection of those spaces than here.
After! Boston is definitely going to come after Nick next ep.
I want everyone kissing everyone, so I totally hope it happens. I doubt that Nick will move on either way, so he should kiss Papang and Sand and Mew and...😂
That's weird. I found it extremely possessive. And no,. I don't think that he will ever be that sweet to Sand when…
Hahahaha yes. Mew will always be the bestest best regardless of what he does, and Sand will always bear the brunt of whatever crap Ray's dealing with. And it's only going to get worse.
Did you see the breakfast one? That one cracked me up.
Apparently this is a hot take, but I find him the least awful of the group. I'm starting to root for him really…
I'm not interested in comparing anyone's level of bad or good. To me that isn't the point. Everyone here kind of sucks but also everyone here can be really decent. You know, like normal people.
And he might start scheming we don't know. Still six episodes left. Also, as nice as it is to pretend that the past can be left behind, sometimes it can't. And you have to deal with the choices you make, bad as well as good. I have sympathy for him but I'm not going to pretend that he hasn't earned at least some of what he's getting.
... no idea where you get this idea... but Nick is a creep with stalking problem. Mew ray would also be terrible…
I just think that everyone simplifies this too much. Ray has a lot of problems, and these guys are all the same age and are *not* equipped to deal with those problems. Even the flashback we got two years ago says that Ray's been doing it even longer than that.
I sometimes feel like people forget that Ray isn't the only one who matters, here. He's not the only one who gets hurt and he's not the only one who needs to take care of themselves. It's not pretty but this is what this kind of addiction generally results in - I'm not saying his friends were his rocks at any point (although Mew might have been), but it's very very hard to deal with someone like Ray and not get exhausted. I have seen people older and wiser than these guys do worse to people with addiction problems because at some point they just can't give anymore.
I'm not blaming Ray. Addiction is an illness and he clearly needs help. I'm just saying none of these people are equipped to be the kind of help he needs. Not a one of them. I'm very curious how people will react when Sand proves he can't be Ray's savior either (my guess is turn on him and hate him the same way they hate Mew & co).
Apparently this is a hot take, but I find him the least awful of the group. I'm starting to root for him really…
I don't care about awful, but I have sympathy for him. I think that he genuinely likes Mew, and I do think that he might have genuinely been trying to change. But now everything is gonna be set backwards, all because he chose not to talk to him.
My biggest unpopular opinion is that I don't think that the real issue is him sleeping with someone else while they weren't even really dating. it's the Boston of it all and the not telling Mew what happened. It's very possible that they could have worked it out if Top had opened his mouth beforehand, but now I don't know. I think Mew is gonna plan something that's gonna destroy that relationship for good, if it ever had a chance to begin with.
I'm counting down the days (or better yet, the episodes) until Sand's ex shows up and brings even more chaos to…
SAME. I want him and Ray to be out on the outs again so that Sand will descend into a messy messy rebound with them that's made even more messy by the fact that the Top situation happened.
Do you mean if Boston hadn't told Sand that Ray's in love with Mew?No, but only because he wouldn't know it was…
Oh. No, once Sand loaded that gun Ray was always gonna fire it. He might have gone to Boston first but he was always going to tell Mew, because not only would Ray feel it was his duty as a friend (and yes, Boston was also right, part of him probably hoped it'd turn Mew towards him and frankly, it might just do), Sand had already planted the seeds he needed to plant too deep. "If you're a good friend to him, you'll tell. You're the only one who can." Both heavily implied and you know Ray would latch onto that because he feels he owes Mew everything anyway.
So nope. Once Top fucked with Sand it was all over for him, pretty much. Boston might have helped send Ray into his spiral at the bar though.
1. YES he was and I loved it. I have no clue why he likes Ray tbh, the show hasn't done a decent job establishing…
Oh yes I fully believe that Boston and Nick will hook up again after they fight. As of right now they're my top prediction for endgame out of the current couples.
I was absolutely shook watching episode 6 like it was such a mess but I'm obsessed. I was yelling at Ray to hurry…
Nah Sand is just as bad as any of these people, he just hasn't been pushed before.
In a way, he's actually worse than them. Because this motherfucker makes *plans* and then carries them out come hell or high water. There's nothing scarier than a man who will see his destruction through to the end no matter who he has to use to get it.
I reallyyy wonder if tonnick are gonna be end game 🤔
I genuinely think that the likelihood of the current couples ending up together is as follows (from most to least likely):
BostonNick > TopMew >>>>> SandRay.
Let me explain (this will probably get long).
BostonNick: We are seeing Boston destroy his friendships from the inside out right now, whether because of jealousy or feeling that they don't matter since he's going to be going to NY at the end of the year anyway (do you guys think he will? I'm curious). Meanwhile Nick is not letting go for anything, he might step back a pace or two when Boston finds out about the audio but he's a survivor, he's not gonna give up. I feel like he'll find his way back in and Boston will let him because at that point he'll have no one else. Truly a "they deserve each other" situation and I am SEATED.
TopMew: They've both been playing roles with each other (Top moreso than Mew, I think, but Mew isn't totally innocent of game playing) and *still* managed to develop real feelings (IMO). I think that Mew is gonna make it his mission to break Top and I think he will either succeed or come very close, but I think that in the end these two probably have the best chance of creating something good out of the ashes...if the game playing Mew is gonna attempt doesn't make it so they can't look at each other, that is.
SandRay: These two are gonna be over by ep 9. Mark my words. The reasons that they seem to work at first - Ray being needy and Sand wanting to be needed, Sand's patience and. Ray's impulsiveness, etc, are the same reasons they can't be together. They'll just reinforce each other's negative traits until everything explodes in their faces. Plus I know i keep banging this drum but Ray doesn't even like himself, how the hell can he really love someone else? Not fixate on them as a savior, but love them and allow them to love him? He can't. He will self-sabotage every damn time. And Sand's still way too hung up on his ex and whatever happened with them and Top to be able to handle a normal relationship, let alone whateverthefuck he has going on with Ray. I had hoped these two might come out of things friends but I no longer believe it. They're both too apt to break things when crossed.
What I think we'll get: an open-ended sort of deal. One or none of these couples or others might be together, but mostly I think they'll be split. The friend groups might not splinter but my guess is they will, too. Which is very true to life imo. Sometimes you make lifelong friends in college but often it's about proximity and convenience. Some of these characters will be in a good place (my guess: Mew). Some will be on an upward swing (Ray, Boston). Some will be more or less where they started (Sand, Nick). And at least one will be in a place worse than where they began (Top).

No, but only because he wouldn't know it was there to use.
