Before we learned about Jin Man's daughter, Yeong-sil, I previously thought he was feeling emotionally tortured…
A superb writing of characters.
You just know that the writer loves her characters so much in how she write/present them to her audience. ❀️

After a very long time, I can finally say I’ve found a K-drama worth watching. Then I looked up the screenwriter,…
Pardon me for checking your dramalist and i see that in 2025, you only had 8.5 rating, and you only have 2 things that you have as a 10. :)
Truly, it is not easy to find something worth your time.
Time and taste for drama can be relative. I might feel the same as you because the only one who topped of my love for "my liberation notes" is this, just because it is the most recent from the same author. Hehehe.

But for me there were a couple from last year and early this year that was worth finishing. In fact Go youn jung being in 2 of those. :)

I don't know, but this is friendship, and this is how relationship gets in time. It will not be a permanent thing, but choosing to stay and let others stay is something I want to do in life. Yes, they can be toxic, but to head butt with them, get the convo going, be willing to work out of oneself, and just embracing each other, their friendship runs deep way before they did the eight club.
They grew up, they were in a different pace, they don't have the same struggle and pressure, but being there, getting pissed of with one another, i think it is a blessing. We see the present, but i think their past is what holds them really.. :)

Yes, he needs discipline because the engine of love ❀️ will not suffice 🀣 i am just excited of how dong man will face life as a "real" director 🀣 he is in good hand with eun a and the eigh club. Hihihih

Title We Are All Trying Here Spoiler
Character growth is nice and all, but for a 12 episode drama, i'd rather see them in all their flaws throughout…
You can never have the most perfect ending with slice of life.
"Slice", because you know that they get to continue their lives even after the last episode. And nope, it is different with "and they all lived happily ever after." But it is more of like letting go of your own child because he has now became an adult and you trust that whatever life throws at him, he can overcome it by how he was able to overcome the 12 hours episode of his maybe long life.
Horror ends when the scare is put to an end, romcom when they finally get together, but it is vague to see what their life would be after. As for slice of life though, it seems that viewers can a bit more clear in how to continue the story in their head. Writers gives us enough amount of who they are, what they have gained along the way, and what challenges they might be facing next.

Character growth is nice and all, but for a 12 episode drama, i'd rather see them in all their flaws throughout the episode, change a bit because of little realization, but not change their core.
I care less about hwang dong man and eun a giving their haters a face plant, but as the preview said, his purpose was to become slightly less embarrassing person than he is presently (note that he did not say be a person who you can be proud of, which would mean totally changing himself).
I think this is a part of the message of this drama
it is to let us see various definition of success as all people are just trying hard to live life.
Do i want to see them trample all their enemies? Yes, but that would also mean, losing a part of themselves. And in the first part, i watch and continue to watch because of the characters and the characterization that the writers have built up so far. So i want to see the same version of themselves as the first episode, but maybe now, better and with core purpose fully functioning :)
Big-bro-poet-thug-napa for the win! The only person i am cheering the most to have a change in his situation and have a happy ending of being reunited with yeong sil. For the rest, they can stay in their miserble state, and i will still say that it is a satisfying ending πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

HJ is not punishing DM by producing his script... he keeps saying he wants to swim and knows how to swim, so she…
Yep. After finding out she was the runner up, and reading his script, she might have thought that Dong Man was still not ready to get chewed out, that it would destroy him to be in the ring. In contrast to the husband, who in her words said that he bawls out at night but kept on writing..
As for DM, it might do more damage than good. So yep, she did it out of spite, but also, maybe her head was clearer after hearing DM yap that drove her to finally help DM into the ring, knowing it might make or break him 😁😁

I hope she will have fun making this movie, just as she intends to do πŸ˜€ writer-nim, may you give this girl the fun she seeks in doing movies!πŸ˜†

Are DM and EH in a romantic relationship? Not really. There was never I love you, let's date, a kiss, any physical…
Who they are at the present is an effect of their past, mostly by pain and rejection and hardships. So their future success, will also affect them in ways maybe like that of the head of choifilm. Fhat is why the brother is an integral part of the storyline. Him asking people around "what is your purpose" will keep them grounded in good times and bad times. :)
As for romance, jang mi ran confessed that she liked him, which is a different like when he said, it is awkward because he like eun-a. And he is bewitched by her (in a very good way) because he even said he would stay single and date but tell the girl frankly that he is contrrolled by no other than eun-a. That leads me to think, this was what happened to dad and mom of eun-a, dad going back to first love..
If being a safe place is being in a romantic relationship, that is where they are, in mutual understanding, but also in consideration for one another. Also, i think they are just in a stage of getting to know each other slowly and enjoying the company after being lonely and not being able to ask for help after all the time of struggling alone.

You just spoke my thoughts. I was shaking my head when people talked about possible romance, while I was sitting…
Hahaha, right. 🀣
But there is romance, and the girl can see right through him, in his anxiety that drove him to do those things. So yep, only eun a for hwang dong man. They are made (written) for each other 🀣 they both soothe each other's anxiety and be a safe space for one another. It was a great ride. I am here for the story, and pray that they remain there because i am trying hard to keep my peace and sanity. 🀣

But it worked though. Hwang Dong Man being himself and driving and pushing her to her decision. It is a symbiotic relationship πŸ˜†
She was not "good" but she was not biased also. She is hard on both his husband and hwang dong man as "directors." But maybe a bit biased, but only because he respected him more..
