This is why this falls on the "this is a great script, i would love to meet and know the writer," rather than the "this was so good, i hope to meet the characters in real life." I both had this feelings throughout my drama land journey and both are because of good writing.
This was great, but it is thanks to the storytelling. The words that the writer has composed have saved this guy "hwang dong man." I cannot imagine tolerating aa real life hwang dong man, sorry. Worse, being his neighbor and hearing him shout at the top of his lungs in a peaceful morning.
I really like this. All praise to the team who made this possible. I feel indebted to them for even translating it and putting it on netflix so international viewers can watch, but meeting hwang dong man, without the extra scenes of his everyday life is too much for meπ π€£
I am so happy that he has eun a, his brother and the eight club. π
Man i love this drama so much nothing comes close maybe i am past point where bubbly, cute romance won't sit much…
The difference is in the storytelling. There are various kinds of genres, but it comes down to the good writing. We are shown it here. They revised their drafts, axe eun a points out the lacking. Casting plays a part too (jang mi ran). Being ahead of its time or behind it plays part too. My favorite genre is slice of life but there are good romcoms out there that makes you feel alive like this one does. Although it might be more scarce than in this genre. These are simple, ordinary stories that we can easily relate because the people are ordinary, the setting is the everyday, the emotions are familiar. Romcoms have been so long in the category of fantasy. π π€£
Why do I feel like they were checking Eunah's whereabouts on her phone, like with CCTV or something, when she…
I like to think it this way, that the Mom saying things when eun-a shut the door (9yr. old her being putiful and dad going back to 1st love) is consistent with the title. Everyone is trying . But never in anyone's situation is an excuse for being rude :)
Episode 8 had me like, "so this is how you'll let the story flow, writer-nim. And i am so loving it. I never expect it to go that way. And the surprise I had was so satisfying. " I have accumulated an addiction to be able to feel this again in another drama. π this is so so so so so good!
This is so good. Episode 8 and it is getting better, the best yet. And anticipating that the next episodes would give out more. The pacing, the storytelling, the characters. This was and is and will be a chef's kiss.
There are 2 translations, "self-destruct" and "implosion" for the unknown emotion. Can somebody please bring more light to the translation. thank you :)
Sometimes, when you encounter a great drama, you want to meet the characters in real life. The world that the writer created is so convincing and the characters are so likeable. This is what happened to me in "date my daughter" (jdorama). But there is also another kind of great writing where in you want to meet the writer in awe of how they are able to write the kind of world in their writing. This is what it did to me in "we are all trying here."

Nah, he was a poet, but then they praised his pain, now he has since been a thug π only beats his lil bro though

Would you also happen to know the korean word that they used? :)
The writer and their characters.
